COMPARISON: No previous relevant imaging available on PACs for direct comparison or
to assess interval change TECHNIQUE: Standard unenhanced multiplanar multisequence
MRI MSK Pelvis and hips imaging protocol
RADIOLOGICAL FINDINGS:
Moderate to severe degenerative change is seen in both hip joints with large
subchondral cysts, cartilage loss and labral fraying. No features of osteonecrosis.
Bilateral joint effusion with synovitis. No features of osteonecrosis.
Gluteal tendinosis and bursitis. No full thickness tears. No enthesitis. Normal
appearances of the remaining imaged muscles, ligaments and tendons.
Moderate degenerative change is seen in the sacroiliac joints, imaged spine and
symphysis pubis within the confines of the acquired large FOV sequences. Inferior
active sacroiliitis, likely mechanical in aetiology.
No focal hernia identified on static imaging.
CONCLUSION:
Florid degenerative change in the hip joints and imaged spine. Bilateral joint
effusion with synovitis.
Gluteal tendinosis and bursitis.
