Reflection

What I learned from this book:

Wonder taught me many important life lessons, but the biggest one was about empathy and the power of kindness.
August Pullman’s journey showed me that people are often treated unfairly because of how they look, and we rarely stop to
think about how that makes them feel. I learned that being kind doesn’t cost anything, but it can make a huge difference in
someone’s life. The way Auggie stayed strong, even when people stared or said hurtful things, made me admire him. He
didn't let cruelty define who he was, and instead, he focused on being a good friend, brother, and student. That inspired
me to be more understanding of people around me and to avoid making quick judgments.

How this book made me feel:

This book made me feel a mix of emotions—sadness, anger, hope, and joy. At first, I felt sad and frustrated for Auggie
because of the way people treated him, especially in a school environment that should feel safe. I was angry when kids were
cruel without even trying to know him. But as the story went on, I began to feel hopeful. I loved seeing how some
characters changed, like Jack Will and even Julian a little. By the end, I felt proud and happy for Auggie when he was finally
accepted and honored. It made me think deeply about my own behavior and how I treat others.
A letter to a character

Dear Auggie,
Reading your story really moved me. I admire your
courage for starting at a new school, even though you
knew people would stare or treat you differently. That
takes real bravery.
I felt proud of you when you made friends like Summer
and Jack Will, and I was especially impressed by how
you forgave Jack. You showed me that real friendship is
about who someone is on the inside.
If I were at Beecher Prep, I’d want to be your friend.
You’re kind, funny, and strong. Your story made me
think more carefully about how I treat others. Thanks
for inspiring me.
Sincerely, Mouza.

final Reflection

Reading Wonder was a powerful and emotional

experience. It taught me the importance of
kindness, empathy, and seeing people for who they
truly are, not just how they look. Auggie’s story
made me think differently about how we treat
others and reminded me that even small actions can
make a big difference. The book showed that being
brave doesn’t mean being loud, it means being
yourself, even when it’s hard. I finished this book
feeling inspired to be more understanding and to
always choose kindness.
