SYSTEMPLUS EVOLUTION SOFTWARE
INSTALLATION
Preconditions
Before starting with SystemPlus EVOLUTION installation be sure that the following items are installed on
the PC:
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5
Microsoft Hotfix KB3033929
Microsoft Hotfix KB3123479
Moreover, it is strongly recommended to:
Turn Windows Firewall off
Turn Windows Defender off
Turn User Account Control off
Disable automatic Widows update
Disable Security and Maintenance messages from Action Center
Disable Power Safe mode
In order to use Offline DB Management, you need to install the additional components for Microsoft SQL
Server. Go to: https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=43339
Click “Download” and choose:
SharedManagementObjects.msi
SQLSysClrTypes.msi
For PCs running Windows 10 Professional Operating System, besides the preconditions listed above it is
mandatory to configure other system settings:
Secure Boot:
1. Open the PC BIOS menu. You can often access this menu by pressing a key during the bootup
sequence, such as F1, F2, F12, or Esc.
Or, from Windows, hold the Shift key while selecting Restart.
2. Go to “Troubleshoot”, then select “Advanced Options: UEFI Firmware Settings”
3. Find the Secure Boot setting and set it to Disabled. This option is usually in either
the Security tab, the Boot tab, or the Authentication tab.
4. Save changes and exit. The PC reboots.

Fast Startup:
1. From Control Panel select Power Options
2. Click on “Choose what the power buttons do”
3. Click on “Change settings that are currently unavailable”
4. Click on “Turn on fast startup (recommended)” so that the checkmark disappears
5. Save changes

Software Installation
The steps to follow for correct SystemPlus EVOLUTION installation are shortly reported below.
Take in consideration you have to pay attention to the Operating System Type: if you have to install a
version on an OS in 32 bit you have to install SystemPlus EVOLUTION version in 32 bit, if it is 64 bit OS
you have to install version a 64 bit version.
Details are below reported.
1. Run As Administrator “SystemPlus EVOLUTION Installation - Rev. 1.04.0XXX.exe” program (right
click the mouse over “SystemPlus EVOLUTION Installation - Rev. 1.04.0XXX.exe” and select “run
as administrator”).
2. Follow step by step the Installshield Wizard for correct installation:
b. Welcome Window: Press Next Button
c. Customer Information Window: Press Next Button
d. Destination Folder Window: Press Next button if you want to install in the default folder,
otherwise modify it and press Next
e. Installing Window: it displays the installation progress bar
f. Installshield Wizard Correct: Press Finish button
g. Restart request: SystemPlus EVOLUTION installation needs to restart PC to be completed,
press Yes
3. After Windows restart, the software is correctly installed. SystemPlus EVOLUTION shortcut icon
will be displayed on computer desktop.

SENTINEL KEY SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
The procedure to follow for correct Sentinel Key Driver installation is described below.
Before starting this procedure please remove the Sentinel key if previously plugged in.
1. From start button select “Micromed->Utility->Sentinel Driver Setup”
2. Installshield Wizard window starts
3. Select “Complete” choice installation (default), press Next button
4. Press Finish button at the end of the installation
5. Plug Sentinel dongle on Parallel\USB port

FIRST RUN
Before using SystemPlus EVOLUTION, a “default” local resource is automatically created named “EEG”
with path defined in C:\System98\System98 Local.
The first time you start SystemPlus EVOLUTION, some operations must be performed in order to have it
correctly working.
Resource definition
If you want to define a new resource, you can press right mouse button near the defined “EEG” resource
in the bottom part of Evolution archive window and press “New”, “New Resource” window will
be showed.
Define the Type, the Description and the Path of the new resource, as below. You can Enable Linked
Database with a SQL or JET database, completing information related to the database.
A password is asked to confirm operation (default password is “micromed”).
A message will be shown asking for resource data initialization; press Yes.

EEG headbox setup (only for recording unit)
1. Enter in the setup windows by using Tools->Option->EEG window.
2. A password could be asked to confirm operation (password is “micromed”).
3. Select Headbox tab and fill Interface and Headbox like the example below reported.
4. Press Exit button to SAVE current settings.
