4. Rationale for choosing this organization:
I came to know that I have to work as an intern on the topic "The Role of Charitable Efforts in Poverty
Alleviation" in the Center of ISCS. As it relevant to Sustainable Development goal no. 1"No poverty". We
do research of Internship in the center of research on sustainable development goals in ISCS, university of
the Punjab Lahore.
ISCS boasts a strong reputation for its academic excellence and research contributions In the field of social
and cultural studies. Its faculty members are renowned scholars with diverse expertise, providing conducive
environment for fostering Innovative and Insightful research. Moreover, Punjab University's geographical
location, situated in a region experiencing rapid economic growth and Infrastructural development, offers
me valuable opportunities to conduct on-the- ground research.
I made up my mind that I will try doing my internship in this center and some voluntary work which I am
capable of doing. This was the best place to build my confidence while working as an intern in any
organization. It was offering me to provide me the platform for increasing my confidence level.
5. Overview of the project:
Primitively, we have a project on "No poverty" and we have a lot of queries and challenges regarding
Pakistan society, then we talked with my supervisor, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Usman and asked some queries about
my Internship. So, after talking with sir and read the history of "The Role of Charitable Efforts in Poverty
Alleviation" which reflect the SDG no 1"No poverty" then I also started working on SDG 1 ant try to get
some literature from relevant authorities.
With the help and support of my supervisor, I had the opportunity to talk about the current situation in
Pakistan regarding "No poverty" and also in the world, that "United States SDGs of No Poverty" have
already worked a lot on this. Through the Interviews, I explored the current situation of Poverty in Pakistan,
and the Role of charitable organization.
After this, I work in Microsoft word. This project is so amazing and I learn too much about the "charity to
reduce the poverty" but informal charity and formal organization of charity also plays a major role in society
to reduce poverty.
Studies of "The Role of Charitable Efforts in Poverty Alleviation" is generally regarded as covering
research and teaching on the causes of poverty, including lack of resources, unequal distribution of wealth
and etc.
