The National Flag of India in Hindi is


known as Tiranga.
It is a horizontal rectangular tricolour
consisting of Saffron, White and Green;
with the Ashoka Chakra, a 24-spoke
wheel, in navy blue at its centre.

The Saffron colour indicates the strength and courage of the country.
The White colour indicates peace and truth. The Green colour represents
fertility, faith, and prosperity. Ashoka Chakra is blue, represents the sky,
the ocean and the universal truth.
The Ashoka Chakra is also known as Samay chakra in which the 24
spokes represent 24 hours of the day and is the symbol of the movement
of the time.
It was designed by Pingali
Venkayya, who was a freedom
fighter and was a follower of
Mahatma Gandhi.
