Social networks are social structures composed of groups of


people, which are connected by one or more types of
relationships such asfriendship, kinship, common interests or
shared knowledge. There may be many types of links between

Social networking sites

The social network concept in the fieldof internet: are pages


that allow people to connect with friends, even make new
friends, to share content, interact, create communities of similar
interests: work, readings, games, friendships,relationships
interpersonal. Social networking on the Internet have earned
their place in a dizzying, becoming promising business for
companies, artists, trademarks, independent professionals and,
aboveall, human encounters in places.

Types of Social Networks

Facebook is a company founded by Mark Zuckerberg and


Eduardo Saverin founded by Chris Hughes, Dustin Moskovitz
and Mark Zuckerbergconsisting of a social networking website.
Originally a site for students of Harvard University, but now is
open to anyone with an email account. Users can participate in
one or more social networks inrelation to their academic status,
place of work or geographical region.

Has received much attention in the blogosphere and the media


to become a platform on which third parties can develop
applicationsand do business from the network.

Twitter is a microblogging service, Twitter, Inc. was originally


created in California. Since Jack Dorsey created it in March
2006 and launched it in July of thatyear, the network has gained
popularity worldwide and is estimated to have over 200 million
users, generating 65 million tweets a day and handles more
than 800,000 search requests daily.
