The Facts about Animal farm:

Kind of story: Fable ( a story with animal characters)with political deep meaning

Date written: 1944

Main idea: a farm taken by the animals living in it and getting rid of the human
owner, but later realize they were used by the pigs who are worse than the
humans.

Literary terms: dystopia (opposite to Utopia); a place where corruption and evil
spread where the rich use the poor and injustice prevails

Main characters: Napoleon- Snowball- Squealer- Old Major- Boxer- Mr. Jones –
the dogs

Issues presented (deeper meaning): the nature of any political revolution; attack
on the Russian Revolution in 1917 and the communism in the Soviet Union; rise of
Lenin and Stalin (the Communism leaders)
