SpeakerHello everyoneToday I’m going to talk about a very exciting sport called
Formula 1 or F1
Formula 1 is a racing competition with very fast cars amazing drivers and famous
teams These cars can drive at over 350 kilometers per hour faster than most
airplanes during takeoff
In this presentation I will talk about
• What Formula 1 is
• The teams and drivers
• How the races work
• And some fun facts
Let’s start with the basics

2 What is Formula 1 (1.5 min)


Formula 1 is the highest level of car racing in the world The first F1 race was in
1950 in the United Kingdom Since then it has become one of the most popular sports
worldwide
Each year there is a competition called the Formula 1 World Championship Drivers
and teams travel around the world to race in different countries
Some places where F1 races happen include
• Italy Monza
• Monaco a famous street race
• The United States Austin Miami and Las Vegas
• Japan Brazil and many more
Each race is called a Grand Prix in French it means Big Prize There are around 24
races in one season

3 Teams and Drivers (1.5 min)


There are 10 teams in Formula 1 and each team has 2 drivers so 20 drivers in total
compete in each race
Some of the most famous teams are
• Ferrari the oldest team in F1 They have red cars and millions of fans
• Red Bull Racing the most dominant team in recent years
• Mercedes a team known for its strong performance and silver cars
• McLaren Aston Martin Alpine and others also compete
Some famous drivers are
• Max Verstappen Red Bull the current world champion He is very fast and
has won many races
• Lewis Hamilton Mercedes he has won 7 world championships the same as
Michael Schumacher
• Charles Leclerc Ferrari a young and talented driver from Monaco
• Fernando Alonso Aston Martin a very experienced driver from Spain
These drivers are very fit smart and brave They train their bodies and minds to
handle the pressure and speed

4 How Do F1 Races Work (2 min)


Each Formula 1 weekend happens over three days
1 Friday PracticeDrivers test their cars on the track and try different settings
They learn how the car feels and prepare for the race
2 Saturday QualifyingDrivers race against the clock to set the fastest time The
fastest driver starts in first position on the grid This is called pole position
3 Sunday Race DayThis is the most exciting day Drivers complete between 50 and 70
laps depending on the circuit The first driver to cross the finish line wins
During the race drivers can make pit stops to change tires or fix small problems
Pit crews work very fast sometimes under 2 seconds
Points are given like this1st place 25 points2nd 183rd 15down to 10th place 1 point
The driver with the most points at the end of the season wins the Drivers
Championship The team with the most points wins the Constructors Championship

Here are some fun and interesting facts about Formula 1
F1 cars go 0 to 100 kmh in about 2.5 seconds faster than a roller coasterThe Monaco
Grand Prix is the most famous race It takes place on small city streetsDrivers can
lose 2 to 4 kg during a race because of heat and stressEach F1 car has around 25000
parts they are very complex machinesTeams spend millions of dollars every year to
make their cars faster
