Job Purpose:
To promote student learning and to be accountable for student progress and development
within the classes they teach.
Responsibilities:
• Support the Mission and Vision of the school.
• Take all necessary measures to safeguard students and promote the health and safety
    of the school community.
• Follow the Code of Conduct and all published policies of the school.
• Act professionally in dress, appearance and approach to work.
• Uphold the school’s behavior management policy.
• Maintain a purposeful and effective atmosphere within the classroom and other
    learning areas.
• Take responsibility for your own professional and personal development.
• Attend team, staff and whole school and other meetings and events as appropriate,
    contributing positively whenever possible.
Main duties & responsibilities to support achieving accountabilities
Teaching and Learning
• Carry out teaching duties in accordance with the school’s schemes of work and the
    defined curriculum.
• Plan and deliver lessons and other learning, ensuring that lessons are based on clear
    learning objectives and that all students are making appropriate progress.
• Liaise with colleagues to deliver units of work in a collaborative way and contribute to
    the production and preparation of schemes of work.
• Cover for absent colleagues.
• Set targets for student attainment levels using prior achievement and other relevant
    data.
• Set work for students absent from lessons in line with the school's policies.
• Contribute to the school’s enrichment programme (clubs and extramural activities) with
    all grade levels.

•   Liaise with students’ homeroom teachers where appropriate about their achievements
    and behavior.
Assessment, Recording and Reporting
• Maintain rigorous and accurate records, including lesson plans and students’
    attainment, attendance, behavior and homework.
• Mark and return students work (in line with the school’s marking and assessment
    policy) promptly. Marking should include feedback for improvement and progress for
    each student where applicable.
• Ensure that suitably differentiated material and learning pathways are provided to
    challenge all students at the appropriate level.
• Provide assessment reports as required.
• Assist the Head of Department in analyses examination results and other student
    performance measures and identify suitable actions.
• Liaise with parents on students’ progress.
Team Support
• Other tasks assigned by Line Manager or Principal.

Person Specification
Minimum Academic Degree required
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Humanities related major
• Teaching license
Professional skill and knowledge required
• Excellent classroom management skills
• Proficiency in spoken and written English
• Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and legal educational guidelines
• Deep understanding of how to effectively teach a range of curriculums
• Experience in using technology to enhance learning
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills
• Strong moral values and discipline
• A patient and resilient personality

Experience
• At least 2 years of working experience in teaching Humanities
• Cross-culture working experience in an international school is an advantage
