Since 1966, Gufram’s pieces capture our imagination, challenging notions of
what furniture can be with dynamic and visually striking designs that shatter our
preconceptions.
Founded in the vibrant city of Turin, Italy, Gufram was the brainchild of young
architects and artists like Giorgio Ceretti, Piero Derossi, Guido Drocco, Piero Gilardi,
Franco Mello, Giuseppe Raimondi, Ricardo Rosso, and Studio 65.
Their bold take redefined contemporary notions of “furniture”, synthesizing
brilliantly bold shapes and silhouettes with expert artisanal processes and materials,
supported by a legacy of exceptional craftsmanship and artisanal hand-building
techniques that bring high quality and attention to detail, durability, precision and
consistency.
By employing a wide array of materials that center around their expert use of soft
polyurethane and durable Guflac® paint, Gufram is able to achieve forms and
functions in their furniture unlike any other.
Today Gufram continues to leave a larger-than-life imprint on the world of furniture,
featuring designs from some of the most important designers and artists of our
time, from Alessandro Mendini to Snarkitecture. Some of its creative partners are
also the Andy Warhol Foundation, A$AP Rocky, and Paul Smith: each of these has
reinterpreted icons with a radical approach.
Many Gufram’s products, including the BOCCA®, the PRATONE®, and the
CACTUS®, can be found in homes, but also galleries and museums around the
world like Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, MoMA in New York, and the National
Art Museum of China in Beijing.
