Dune a game of conquest and diplomacy
Solo rules
Setup
• Set the game up for 2 players.
• Separate the battle deck into a weapon deck and a defense deck.
• You cannot choose the Fremen faction or the Atreides & Fremen Allies faction. These will be
controlled by the A.I.
• The A.I. takes all the leader tokens of its faction in a shuffled pile.
• After the player has selected the traitor card the remaining traitor cards of the factions in play
are shuffled and becomes the traitor deck for the A.I.
Sequence of play as normal except the following.
Gain Cards:
• The A.I. does not buy market cards.
• The A.I. receives one weapon and one defence card face down.
• The hand of the player consists of 2 weapon and 2 defence cards.
Revival: Each round the A.I. revives as many troops as possible and pays its spice to the spice bank.
Shipping & Movement: The player always ships and moves first. The A.I. always ships 5 forces to the
Polar Sink and moves as one group with a maximum movement of 6 territories. Movement priority is
as followed:
1. Nearest empty stronghold.
2. Nearest occupied stronghold with the lowest count of players forces.
3. If there are equal opportunities the player decides.
The A.I. does not collect spice from the spice blows, only from the spice collection phase when the
A.I. has less than 3 spice.
Battle:
• The player prepares battle first and as normal.
• The A.I. always commits all of its forces into battle and sets the battle wheel.
• The top leader of the leader pile is placed in the battle wheel.
• The A.I. weapon and defence cards are revealed and there effects are resolved.
• The top card op the A.I. traitor deck is revealed and its effects are resolved. If this revealed
traitor is not the leader of the player during this battle than this traitor card is discarded. This
was not a traitor after all. It was just a rumour.
• The battle is resolved by subtracting the losing forces from the winners forces, this includes
the leaders. Except when they are out of play because of card effects. The player can decide
to sacrifice the leader for his point value so that some of the winners forces can remain in
play to keep occupying the fought over stronghold.
• When there are multiple battles in one turn the A.I. receives and discards the weapon and
defence cards after each battle.
