GRAND OPENING METHOD - Overview

📌 Remember, the key to success with the Grand Opening Method is to be authentic,
helpful, and engaged with the community. By building relationships and providing value,
you can establish trust and credibility that will lead to new customers and referrals.

● Posting in local groups

○ Value posts
○ Engaging in community
● Have friends that get a test clean post testimonial on local facebook groups & next door.
● Voucher system
○ Holiday deals
○ Spring Cleaning
● Testimonials are CRUCIAL

How it works

● The more people see your company name, the more likely they are to trust your
company.
● If someone seen you through a group, they are more likely to recommend you in that
group.

Facebook Groups
📌 Make this as personal as possible. If you come off as trying to advertise your company you
will be kicked out of the group.

1. Search in facebook for any locals groups. Use the county & also try using each individual
city for the search.

2. A good start is:

1.Local group about what’s going on in the community

2.Buy, sell, trade groups
3.Local Small Business Groups
4.Mom Groups (if you are a male, you will need a female to join for you)
5.Look for Facebook Groups related to homeownership, home organization, interior
design, and parenting, as these groups may be interested in residential cleaning
services.
3. Rules/ Tips:

1. Do not say “Hey use my cleaning company” right off the bat. You WILL get
banned or looked at as a sales person.
2. Offer value wherever you can, even if it’s not cleaning related. Does someone
need a haircut recommendation? Or Friday night date recommendation? Be
active. Set aside 15 min a day to respond and offer value. This will help you be
seen as a member of the community.
4. Engage with the groups

1. Introduce yourself: Join the group and introduce yourself as a representative of
the new residential cleaning company. Let the group members know that you are
there to offer valuable information and answer any questions they may have
about residential cleaning.
1. Intro Post (Day 1)
2. “Hi my name is _____ & I’ve been living in the community for about 7
years now. My kids go to the hills middle school & I personally love the
deli on 5th street. I also own a local cleaning business so I’m excited to
share helpful tips & tricks related to cleaning. Please let me know if you
have any questions I can help with! (:”
2. Provide value: Share helpful tips and tricks related to residential cleaning. For
example, you could share articles or videos on how to clean different surfaces,
how to organize a cleaning schedule, or how to make your own natural cleaning
products.
1. Value Post #1 & #2 (Week 2 & Week 3)

Examples:

1. "Did you know you can use vinegar and baking soda to clean your oven? It's a cheap
and effective way to keep your oven sparkling clean!” (Attach link to a youtube video)
2. “Use a lint roller to clean lampshades: Lampshades can be difficult to clean, but you can
use a lint roller to remove dust and lint quickly and easily. Roll the lint roller over the
shade to pick up dirt and dust.”
● Use google and youtube to research cleaning tips and tricks. Create posts using these
tips to provide value to the group.
● It helps to make the post relevant so you can say “Someone in the group asked me how
to clean “x” so i thought i would share it with you all as well”
3. Offers & Discounts: Offer special discounts to group members who are interested in
trying out the company's services.
1. Offer Post #1 (Week 4)
2. Template Post: "Hello, everyone! [Reason for the offer], and we're offering a
[Name of the offer] for members of this group. For a limited time, you can get
[Offer]. To claim this offer, simply message me and mention this post. [Express
your content with willing to help them out]!”
3. Example: "Hello, everyone! Spring is just around the corner, and we're offering a
special spring cleaning promotion for members of this group. For a limited time,
you can get $50 off your first cleaning service when you book with us. To claim
this offer, simply message me and mention this post. I’d love to help you get your
home ready for the season!”
4. Templates Offers that you can use:
1. “Are you a busy parent in this group? Let us take care of your cleaning
needs and get $25 off your first booking.”
2. “Hi everyone! As a thank you for being a part of this community, I'm
offering 20% off on any cleaning service for first-time customers. Just
mention this post when you book with us!”
3. “For members of this group only, book a reoccurring cleaning service and
get 20% off your first month. Just mention this post when you book with
us!”
4. “Do you have a friend or family member in need of a cleaning service?
Refer them to us and you both get $75 off on your next cleaning service.
It's a win-win!”
4. Establish yourself as the go-to cleaner in the group.
1. Ask for testimonials in the group
2. Post their google reviews in the group and say thank you.
5. Don’t forget to offer value to the group in other ways (Group specific value is best). For
example, if its a parents group, share a tip that has helped you parent or good places to
take your kids. Too much offers & cleaning related posts will crush your credibility in the
group.
6. Make human connections. You never know, someone might be an HOA president and
that will get you into an entire community.

Nextdoor
1. Create a business page on Nextdoor. Optimize it by adding pictures & information that
aligns with your brand.
1. The more recommendations the business page has, the better. Get a few from
friends if possible. You will get more over time from your customers.
2. Get plugged into your local nextdoor neighborhood group. Bonus if you have friends or
family that can post in their groups for you (If it’s in your service area).
3. Participate in local conversations: Nextdoor is all about building community, so it's
essential to engage in local conversations. Join in discussions about local events,
community news, and local small businesses. Be helpful, share information and
participate in conversations that are relevant to your business.
4. Follow steps 3 & 4 from facebook groups method. It is the same process.

Posting Cadence
📌 This content plan provides a balance of value-based posts, engagement posts, and
promotional offers to keep the audience engaged and interested in the brand. It also
incorporates seasonal promotions (such as spring cleaning) and local events to make
the posts more relevant to the community. By posting once a week, the brand can stay
visible on the group without appearing too spammy or intrusive.

Mistakes & Pitfalls

1. Not actually engaging with the community in a meaningful way. People can smell the
sales from a mile away if that’s all you do. People want to support people, so be human.
2. Be aware of posting the same exact posts on multiple groups at the same time. If there
is an overlap of people, they may call you out on this.
1. You can post on different days in the groups.
2. You can change up the posting cadence.
3. Word the posts a bit differently.
3. Doing many groups doesn’t always equal more money. Quality engagement is important
so if you can only have quality interactions with two groups, do one facebook group &
nextdoor. You can always get into more groups later on. It’s the difference between
fishing in the same spot for a week vs. changing fishing spots every couple of hours.
4. Be patient, don’t expect leads to instantly flood in all at once. You are building a
reputation for the long run.
5. Don’t want to run good offers because of profit.
