PROJECT TITLE: Roots of Change: A Community Tree Planting Project

2. DESCRIPTION

RATIONALE

This project aims to promote environmental sustainability through tree planting,

addressing issues such as air pollution, urban heat, and biodiversity loss. By engaging local

communities in ecological restoration, the project supports climate action, improves public

spaces, and instills environmental awareness and responsibility.

Duration

June 2025 – November 2025 (6 months)

Local residents and homeowners of Science City of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija

Students of CWTS from Central Luzon State University

Youth organizations and eco-clubs in Central Luzon State University

Local government units and barangays of Science City of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija

3. OBJECTIVES

• To plant at least 500-1000 native trees around the city proper

• To promote awareness about the benefits of tree planting

• To foster community participation in environmental programs

• To restore local ecosystems and improve biodiversity

4. PROBABLE MILESTONE

a. The project will start on May 1, 2025

b. There will be a community orientation about the tree planting activity

c. Everyone will participate

d. Community are expected to take care of the seedlings until it grows.

5. PROBABLE COST AND FUNDING

• Budget Allocation: PHP 13,000

The expenses are seedlings such as mahogany, water sprinkler, food and drinks.

Shovels and spades, gloves, tape measure, tree stakes, and etc. will be provided by the

individual joining the activities. The source fund will Barangay Environmental Fund, DENR

assistance, Local donations and sponsorships.
