7 DISPENSATION (REFLECTIONS)
Brother. Joemar A. Lagbas
It is important as a workman of God to know His plan and His words for His people for us to avoid
error or worse yet, to become a teacher of Confusion. That’s why we must to study His words
for us to understand it and that we may receive the fullness thereof. Ang ibat ibang ages or time
ang syang pangunahin nating tinitignan when it comes to studying God’s words and all
throughout the scriptures of the bible we will see that there are 3 basic ages such as:
1. The Antediluvian Age—this extends from the fall of Adam to the Flood of Noah.
2. The Present Age—this extends from the Flood to the second coming of Christ.
3. The Age of Ages—this extends from the second coming of Christ forward.
Ngunit before pa mangyari ang mga ages na ito, nauna na rito ang tinatawag na “Creative Age”
which we can see in the book of Genesis 1-2 , that’s when God created the heaven and the
earth.
At this chapter, we will know that the dispensation is the approach of God concerning sins and
salvation of human kind.
God has different approach for each dispensation but despite of it, all of this has 3 similarities
when it comes to salvation. Number one is “The shedding of blood”, two is “Faith”, and Lastly
is “Obedience” All of this plays a vital role when it comes to the salvation of human kind
regardless of the time period. We cannot neglect this three, otherwise we will fail to make it in
heaven. There are so many patterns and examples where God use these three. The most
commonly know is the Everyday & year sacrifice of Israel inside the “Tabernacle”. They uses lamb
and goat for sacrificial offering.
1.Dispensation of Innocence
At the beginning of this chapter, it discusses the first dispensation, which is the "Dispensation
of Innocence." This is the time when man is free and innocent from sins, free from wrongdoing,
and free from guilt. That is why there is no need for salvation during this time. In addition, during
this time, man has no conscience until after the fall. Though man is innocent, God still allowed
them to be tested to exercise their freedom/free will.
Because Adam and Eve were a complete and perfect creation of God during the creation period
of humanity, there is no scripture in the Bible that states Adam and Eve begot a son during their
innocent period.
2. Dispensation of Conscience
Conscience is the awareness of the difference between right and wrong actions. During this time,
God allowed humans to use their free will in choosing their actions. Because they already had a
conscience, God gave them laws to obey. This was to help them understand what they should
and should not do. Furthermore, the practice of blood sacrifice or offering also began during
this time as a form of worship. Cain and Abel are well-known in relation to this.
The wickedness of man arose during this time, as people misused their conscience and
completely exercised their free will in wrongdoing. This caused God to regret creating them, and
it eventually led to God's decision to cleanse the world through a flood. However, Noah found
grace from God. So, God commanded him to build an ark and save himself and his household.
The dispensation of conscience ended in judgement by cleansing the whole world by flood and
by saving a righteous man to start a new generation of humanity that feared God. The present
Age which is the Age where we live. It begins after the flood in Noah’s time to revelation of
Christ. It covers the next four dispensation which started from the Dispensation of Promise.
3. DISPENSATION OF HUMAN GOVERNMENT
When the flood ended and the immorality of man are being wiped out, God allowed Noah to
take a govern over the people, animals, plants and all creature all over the earth at this time. God
promise to never give a flood again that will cause the world to be wiped out, God set bow as a
sign of God’s Covenant to mankind.
In Genesis 11 records the fall of humanity and the judgement that ends the dispensation of
human government. I this describes man’s attempt to reach the heaven by building a tower in
the city of Babel and its called “The Tower of Babel”. God is not pleased on what they do, and as
judgment of God, He gave them diverse kind of languages that cause them to spread out all over
the world.
4. Dispensation of Promise
From Seth, to Shem and now to Abram (One of the righteous man) whom God gave the
promise.Abram is know as a friend of God because of His faith and relationship to Him. In this
dispensation God reveal the promise for a coming messiah who will deliver the world from their
sins. Monogamy, Adultery, Priesthood, Circumcision, Fornication ,Idolatry and Mixed Marriage
are the things the includes law during the dispensation of promise.
The bloodline of Christ are being seen in the life of Abraham as he is the father of a chosen
nation. At the story of Abraham, here we will understand that in order to experience the
promises and the power of God, we need to be consecrated and separated from the immoral
and self seeking generations. We must love God and for Him alone. Like the previous ones, this
dispensation ended up in judgment.
5. Dispensation of Law
This dispensation began in the book of exodus when they start their journey from Egypt to the
promise land (Canaan), and it ended up when the messiah came (Jesus Christ the Saviour) , die
and rose again on the third day.
God used Moses to lead and guide the Israel from their journey to the promise land (This pattern
is used by God over and over until the day of the saviour/messiah came). For is the pattern that
God gave on how the saviour (Jesus Christ) will lead us from bondage to freedom, from sin to
forgiveness, from death to life, and from distraction to salvation.
This Dispensation ended in failure, for they fail to understand and believe that the messiah has
already come in the humanity of Jesus Christ and with their guilt for crucifying Him at the Calvary.
Remember: He died so I might live. (HE ROSE AGAIN AND CONQUER DEATH).
6. Dispensation of Grace
At this era, God gave His grace which human cannot merit, earn and deserve. People live with
God’s goodness, mercy, and grace that they never experienced before. "For the law was given
by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ" (John.1:17). In this dispensation, God pour
out His spirit upon all flesh who will believe and receive Him in their hearts. Signs, wonders,
divine healing, and miracles are clearly demonstrated and experienced by human as
manifestation of God's power in this dispensation. Many churches has been established, people
are being fearful to God once more and they continue steadfastly in apostle doctrine, teachings
of the prophets and Jesus Christ as the chief cornerstone.
The Church Age will end when the "fullness of the Gentiles" is complete (Rom.11:25). The
blessed hope of the saints ( The Glorious appearing of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ - THE
RAPTURE! ).
QUESTION: Is JESUS in the Godhead or the Godhead is in JESUS?
ANSWER: The Godhead is in JESUS. All scriptures in the bible culminates in one and only truth,
that the fullness of the Godhead is in JESUS (Col 2:9). Prophet Isaiah give an emphatic declaration
about the Deity of Jesus.
Isaiah 9:6 "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon
his shoulder: and his name shall be called , , ,
, ."
Isaiah 43:11 "I, even I, am the LORD; and "
- The new testament proves it.
Matthew 1:21 "And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name : for he shall
from their sins."
Colossians 2:9 "For in dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily."
Colossians 1:15 "Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:"
It’s so clear that JESUS is not a part of a Godhead, for God is one (The Only Saviour) and Jesus
is the image of that one God. His name has been revealed to mankind and the fullness of the
Godhead are dwelleth in HIM.
