Subject: To express concern over increasing cases of thefts

Sir

Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I would like to draw the
attention of the concerned authorities to the alarming rise in robbery cases in
our locality, Paschim Vihar.

Over the past few months, several cases of house break-ins and street thefts
have been reported. Despite having private security guards and gated
entrances, miscreants are finding ways to breach security. A major cause
appears to be the lack of adequate police patrolling and the poor functioning
of surveillance systems in the area. Additionally, many homes remain
unguarded during the day when adults are away at work, making them easy
targets for criminals who often observe daily routines before striking.

The consequences of these repeated crimes are severe. Residents now live in
constant fear, especially the elderly and children. People are hesitant to leave
their homes unattended, and a general sense of insecurity is affecting the
community’s peace of mind.

To address this growing problem, there should be increase in regular police

patrolling in the locality, especially during vulnerable hours. More CCTV
cameras should be installed and it must be ensured that they are actively
monitored. Community awareness programs and self-defense
workshops should be organised. Residents should be encouraged and
motivated to form neighborhood watch groups in collaboration with the police.

I sincerely hope you will highlight this issue in your newspaper for
prompt, swift and effective action from the authorities.

Yours truly
Anita/Anil
