Abstract
The "Neem-Aloe Vera Herbal Face Wash" is a natural skincare
product formulated to cleanse and nourish the skin gently. It
combines the therapeutic properties of neem and aloe vera, two
renowned botanical ingredients known for their beneficial
effects on the skin.Neem, scientifically known as Azadirachta
indica, has been used in traditional medicine for centuries due to
its antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties. It
helps to cleanse the skin by removing impurities, excess oil, and
bacteria, making it an excellent choice for individuals prone to
acne and other skin conditions.This study investigates the
efficacy and potential benefits of a neem and aloe vera-based
herbal face wash in skincare. Neem and aloe vera are renowned
for their antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and moisturizing
properties, making them promising ingredients for facial
cleansing products. The formulation's effectiveness in cleansing,
purifying, and revitalizing the skin is assessed through various
parameters such as pH balance, microbial activity, and user
satisfaction. Additionally, the study explores the product's safety
profile and its potential as a natural alternative for individuals
with sensitive skin or those seeking organic skincare solutions.
Results suggest that the neem aloe vera herbal face wash offers
significant benefits in promoting clear, healthy skin while
minimizing adverse effects commonly associated with synthetic
skincare products. This research contributes to the growing body
of knowledge on herbal skincare formulations and highlights the
potential of natural ingredients in cosmetic product development.

INTRODUCTION
Natural product are having there own importance as they contain various kinds of
actives cum rich pharmaceutical ingredients like Alkaloids, Glycosides, Tannins,
Fibers, Resins, Flavonoids etc. Natural ingredients are showing important chemical
properties like Antimicrobial, Antifungal, Antibacterial as well as another properties.
Those ingredients are used for different types of solid as well as liquid dosages forms
like Gel, Ointment, Paste, Tablets, Capsule, Syrup, Tincture, Suspension, Emulsion,
Suppository etc.
In facewash preparation mainly content Neem, Aloevera, Reetha, Essential oil and
glycerine . This content gives it common property or many positive effect on the skin.
Neem is the mostly effective because it’s show many property like antibacterial,
antifungal or many skin problem. The neem leaves used in the facewash preparation.
It give many property like deep clean the skin, treat acne, lightens skin tone.
Aloevera is used for the prevent sing of aging, Reduce acne, help lighten plamishes,
reduce stretch mark, sunburn and moisturiser. Alovera is also give smooth and supply
skin.The rose water is used in facewash preparation for moisturised skin.
This facewash is mainly give more property antibacterial, antifungal, lightness skin,
acne remove and smooth or moisture skin.
Different types of problems of skin as well as full system are 2faced by human.
Sometimes microbes can attack the human body. The body needs more immunity to
heal it. Some of medication improve the immunity along with other issues. Skin one
of the most important and sensible part of human body. Semisolid preparation like
Gels are used to protect the skin from harmful UV rays. Different types of skin
problems like acne, pimples, rashes are occurred now a days due to abnormal lifestyle.

Introduction of Skin:-
The skin is the largest organ of the human body that serves a vital role in many
dynamic processes that maintain homeostasis. Composed of multiple cell types, our
skin forms an effective barrier against environmental insults from sun exposure to
direct contact with chemical agents, microbes, and physical trauma.
Human Skin:-
The skin is the largest organ of the body, with a entire area of about 20 square feet.
The skin protects us from germs and the elements, helps regulate body temperature,
and permits the sensations of touch, heat, and cold.

Skin has three layers:
1. The epidermis The outermost layer of skin, provides a waterproof barrier
and creates our skin tone.
2. The dermis, beneath the epidermis, contains tough connective tissue, hair follicles,
and sweat glands.
3. The deeper subcutaneous tissue (hypodermis) is made of fat and connective
tissue.The skin colour is created by special cells called melanocytes, which
produce the pigment melanin. Melanocyte is located in the epidermis.

The skin being largest organ of the body, accounts about 15% of the total adult body
weight. It performs many vital functions including protection against external
physical,chemical and biologic assailants as well as prevention of excess water loss
from the body and a role inthermoregulation.
Acne develops more in females than in males, which shows the earlier onset of
puberty in femalesand the severity of the diseases vary depending on thevarious
factors. It is a chronic inflammatory disorder ofthe pilosebaceous units. Typical
lesions of acne includecomedone, inflammatory papules and pastules.Nodules and
non inflammatory and divided into 2 types a) whiteheadsand b) blackheads, white
heads (closed comedo) present asfresh or white colored, raised bumps whereas
blackheads(open comedo) present as open pores containing darkcolored skin
roughage consisting of melanin, sebum and follicular cells.
Advantages of face wash:-
1. It helps to remove dead skin cells that helps new skincells replace old one.
2. It helps to keep skin fresh and healthy.
3. It makes the skin to look radiant.
4. The mixture of dead skin cells and excessive oil clogpores, which can lead to acne
white heads, black head sand total weary appearance. Exfoliating the pores
regularly, avoids all the above skin problems.
5. Removing dead skin cells that means your skin will develop wrinkles at a slower
pace.

Types of Face Wash:-
In general, a face wash is suitable for all skin types;however, there are now a variety
of products on the market that are formulated to suit various skin types. For
instance,an oily skin face wash is designed for people with oily skin conditions; it
does not contain oils and instead leaves a thin film of oil on the skin. There are
numerous varieties of face washes on the market, including ones for oily, dry, and
regular skin.
Features of face wash:-
1. Removing the dead cells.
2. Rejuvenating the skin cells elevate stress.
3. Removes oil, dirt and impurities.
4. Reduces microbial flora of skin.
5. Leave skin fresh and breathing.
Herbs Used in Face Wash:-
An indigenous tree that is grown almost everywhere in India is called Azadirachta
indica (family Meliaceae). Both locally and generally, it is referred to as "neem" or
"vembu."Saponin and flavonoids have been identified as chemica lcomponents in this
plant product. It includes Margosine, abitter alkaloid. 10–31% of a yellow, bitter fixed
oil is foundin seeds.
Active Ingredients Considerable stearic and palmitic acid has been isolated from the
nimbidin portion of neem seedoil.

6. Essential Oil:-
a. The penetrative properties of essential oils make them excellent moisturisers and
cleansers for skin care.
b. Essential oils also stimulate blood circulation and help in cell regeneration.
FORMULATION OF HERBAL FACE WASH
Extraction of Ingredients:
1. Extraction of Neem:
Process: The extract is made by:
1. Take the neem leaves and wash them thoroughly. If required, you may clean
it twice or thrice. On cleaning the leaves, segregate them from their stem.
2. If you have purchased dry neem leaves from a local grocery store, boil and
strain the leaves before using them.
3. Create a paste using the Neem Leaves. Add the paste into the soap-liquid solution
4. Transfer the leaves into a mixer-grinder.
5. Add a cup of room temperature water to the jar and create a paste. The
consistency of this paste should resemble a chutney’s.
6. Use a strainer to pour the paste into the soap-water container and mix it.

7. To get the most out of this paste, you can take a spoon and press it on the
filter properly – as it will ensure less wastage of the product.
2. Extraction of Aloevera:
Process: The extract is made by:
1. With your leaf laying flat on a cutting board.
2. Carefully slice away the skin of the aloe vera leaf.
3. This will be the thin, outer green layer you see.
4. Run your knife between it and the thick, clear gel at the center, and repeat
this process for the remaining top layer by flipping it to the bottom.
3. Extraction of Reetha:
Process: The extract is made by:
1. Add 1.5 litres (6 cups) of water into a beaker.
2. Add in Soap Nuts.
3. Turn to high heat and bring it to a boil.
4. Once the water is boiling, turn down to low heat and let it simmer for
another 30mins.

5. Remove from the heat and allow the liquid to cool. You will get about 1
litre (3-4 cups) of Soap Nut Liquid.
6. Strain away the Soap Nuts and store Soap Nut Liquid in a bottle for use. It
can keep up to a week.
7. Soap Nuts can be added to your compost.
Preparation
Process: Process are taken in following ways
1. Take 70 ml of Aloevera gel in a beaker.
2. Add 20 ml of Neem extract and mix well (2 - 3 min).

3. Add Reetha extract [1.5 ml] in solution and mix well.

4. After that heat the solution at least [5 - 6 min] and mix well.
5.While heating the solution , add Tragacanth solution in it and mix well.

5. After that we cool the solution and add glycerin (5 g) and mix well.
7. After that add Essential oil in the solution and mix well.
