after your enrolment. A weightage of 30 per cent, as you are aware, has been earmarked for continuous
evaluation, which would consist of one tutor-marked assignment for this course. The assignment is
in this booklet, and it consists of three parts, Part A, B and C. The total marks of all the parts are 100, of
which 35% are needed to pass it.

Before attempting the assignment please read the following instructions carefully:

6) The assignment answer sheets are to be submitted to your Study Centre as per the schedule made

4) Discuss different theories related to the origin of tides with the help of neat sketches.

All Questions are compulsory and carries 10 marks each

5) Define exogenetic processes. Discuss the processes and landforms formed due to the work of sea waves.

6) Describe the bottom relief of Atlantic Ocean with the help of a suitable sketch.

7) Discuss Davis model of cycle of erosion with the help of a suitable sketch.

8) Write Short notes on the following. Each question carries 5 marks.

a) Discuss any five types of Volcanoes of Central or Explosive eruption.


b) Compare Airy’s and Pratt’s theories on isostasy with the help of a figure.
c) Explain Coriolis force with the help of a figure.
d) Differentiate between seasonal winds and local winds.
e) Explain hydrological cycle with the help of a figure.
f) Discuss briefly the factors affecting ocean currents.
