Universe: The Clash of Light and Shadow
World: The Final Age of Valmora
Valmora is an ancient continent where the war between order and freedom has reached its
final stage. For tens of thousands of years, alliances between kingdoms, city-states, and
nomadic tribes have shifted—some building great civilizations while others sought to tear
them down in pursuit of freedom.
But now, one of the greatest turning points in history is unfolding.
The Two Great Forces & The Approaching War
1. The Light Side: Guardians of Order
• Capital City: Ilyara, the grand city where the Ancient Golden Tower rises.
• Belief: Law and order are necessary to protect society.
• Government: Ruled by a council and the royal family, overseeing cities and provinces.
• Leaders: Lord Edric Valtorin and Princess Seraphine Aurelian.
The Light Side is supported by powerful kingdoms, knights, magical academies, and noble
houses that believe order and law are essential. To them, if order falls, society will descend
into chaos. People can only live in peace and prosperity under a structured system. However,
this system does not offer equal opportunities to everyone—power remains in the hands of a
privileged class.
2. The Dark Side: Warriors of Freedom
• Stronghold: Aetherin, the fortress of nomadic warriors and free folk.
• Belief: One must earn their power and shape their own destiny.
• Government: There is no centralized authority—the strongest and wisest lead through
influence and merit.
• Leaders: Countess Lysandra Devereaux and Silas “Shadow” Ravon.
The Dark Side consists of restless explorers, revolutionaries, thieves’ guilds, and warriors
cursed by magic. They believe that laws only protect the powerful while enslaving the people.
True freedom can only exist in a world where each individual decides their own fate.
However, such freedom may also bring instability and uncertainty.
The Story’s Starting Point: The Prophecy of Eternal Night
For the past few years, strange occurrences have plagued Valmora. Some nights, the sky
darkens before dawn, and stars begin to fade one by one. Temple priests and oracles whisper
of an ominous prophecy:
The Prophecy of Eternal Night.
It foretells a time when the sun will never rise again, and night will last forever. The two
factions have opposing interpretations of this event:
• The Light Side believes this is a sign of chaos and the collapse of order. If the world is not
kept under control, everything will be swallowed by eternal darkness.
• The Dark Side believes the prophecy signals the dawn of a new age. Perhaps it means the
fall of the old system and the birth of true freedom.
But neither side knows the full truth—hidden behind this prophecy lies a far greater and
darker force.
How the Players Become Involved
At the beginning of the story, players must choose their allegiance.
• If they fight for The Light Side, they are tasked with preserving order at all costs.
• If they fight for The Dark Side, their mission is to break the chains and forge a new world.
However, regardless of which side they choose, they will soon uncover a deeper mystery
behind the Prophecy of Eternal Night—something neither side can control.
As the story unfolds, players will find themselves entangled not just in a war between two
factions, but in a crisis that threatens all of Valmora.
Major Story Events (Adaptable to Gameplay Choices)
1. The First Sign of the Prophecy:
• Players witness a sudden darkening of the sky in a village, and for several minutes, everyone
is blinded by an unnatural force.

of years ago.
• Could history be repeating itself?
3. The First War Breaks Out:

• But is this conflict really as simple as it seems?
4. A Third Power Emerges:

• This faction may hold the key to the truth behind Eternal Night.
5. The Players’ Choice:
• Will they continue fighting for their chosen side, or will they seek the true cause behind
Eternal Night and make a decision that could reshape the entire world?
What Players Should Feel in This Story
In this narrative, players are not just warriors or soldiers—they are also truth-seekers caught
in the middle of a much larger crisis.
• If they choose The Light Side, they should experience the security and structure of law and
order—but as they question the system, they may begin to wonder whether order is truly just.
• If they choose The Dark Side, they will feel the thrill of rebellion and freedom, but also face
the dangers of an uncertain world without structure.
• Regardless of their choice, they should eventually uncover secrets neither side knows—
making them feel like they are part of a grand mystery.
