“There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a

quickening that is translated through you into action,
and because there is only one of you in all of time,
this expression is unique. And if you block it, it
will never exist through any other medium and it
will be lost. The world will not have it. It is not
your business to determine how good it is nor how
valuable nor how it compares with other expressions.
It is your business to keep it yours clearly and
directly, to keep the channel open.”
M ART H A GRAH AM
The Circle of Life
Let's start here: identifying the areas of your life you're thrilled with,
and the slices where you'd like to cultivate a little more satisfaction. Forget
how each life area looks, a better route to take is inquiring how you
feel about each area. Quality of life over quantity.
elf C re for elf re io
To do our best work in the world, we’ve got to feel our best.
Creative expression requires energy and presence, and the better we
take care of ourselves, the more abundant in energy we are. But
what do these words and ideas mean to you?

How do you define self-care?

How are you currently taking care of yourself?

What supports you to feel wild and free ?

What supports you to feel well and nourished ?

How do you define self-expression?

Where are you currently feeling creative?

What supports you to feel creative and expressed ?

Which of your self-care rituals result in absolutely blazing creative

fire? When have you observed your self-care practice positively
influencing your creativity? Be as specific as you can!
What does 'living your life as art' mean to you?

How do you invite your muse to the party? How might you like to?

How do you like to 'clear the channel'? What might you try?

What fills your sensory well and leaves you energised and inspired
with ideas and insight?
What makes you feel good?
Reflecting back on the previous exercises and this week's audio lessons, I
want you to FILL this page with rituals, mindset shifts, behaviors,
actions, beliefs, treats, words, artist date's, feelings, decisions, gifts,
experiences, inspiration and practices that support you to feel GOOD.

P Create your self-care permission slips

Taking a set of index cards or cut-up pieces of cardboard, write out
each of your self-care prompts / practices from the previous exercise
on a card. You now have your own set of self-care permission slips!
Decorate them if you like, keep them somewhere close and pull a
card often. Each day of the course? Why not!?

“The more you become your own best champion,

supporter, cheerleader, and trusted confidant, the
better able you’ll be to fully and joyfully express your
blessed creativity. That’s when your art becomes more
and more successful in the world. It begins with
treating yourself with love, respect, kindness, and
compassion.”
C HERYL RI C H ARD SON
Setting Boundaries & Saying No
Self-care isn't about adding more into our day. Often, it's quite the
opposite. We have lives that are chock-full of (mostly wonderful)
responsibilities and commitments, yet when we overdo it and say 'yes'
to everything and everyone, we compromise our energy and
vitality. Hectic schedules don’t leave a lot of space for the good
stuff; for relationships, rest, health, adventure, connection and
creativity. This is where boundaries come in, discernment, and
mastering the art of saying no.

What are the 3 biggest 'drains' or 'leaks' on your energy right now?

1.

2.

3.

What are 3 boundaries that you could experiment with in relation to

each of these?

1.

2.

3.
What needs to happen to implement these boundaries? Will you need to
as for help? Will you need to change your attitude? Will you need to say
no to so eone? What will you need to ta e action on?

By setting firm, but flexible boundaries and saying ‘no’ when I need to, I
am choosing to honour…

And invite in more…

By letting go of…

MAKE IT A MANTRA! MY ‘SAYING NO’ MANTRA:

I want you to think of a creative project you’re currently working on.
It could be anything from knitting a scarf to a house reno to a
business plan to an intention to spice things up in the bedroom.

Write it below.

What phase or step in the creative process are you currently in? re
you gathering infor ation ta ing action resting revising - or
resisting?

What’s frustrating you about this current phase? Where are you
feeling stuc right now? What would you li e ore clarity on?

What’s delightful about this current phase? What are you en oying?
ow can you e press gratitude for where you re at?

What does the next step look and feel like? ntuitively - hand on
heart - what s ne t?
The Cycles of Creativity
A creative life is not nurtured by equilibrium, but rather by an ebb
and flow. As you answer these prompts, consider how you feel on a
daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly basis and of course,
hormonally, seasonally and with the changing lunar phases. Let's
learn to ride these rhythmic waves within and around us.

When do you feel most creative, energised and active?

When do you most need to rest, pull back and restore?

Let’s unearth your unique creative process a little more.

How do you like to start things? When and where do you feel “in
the flow”? What are your recurrent stumbling blocks? How do
you move through them? Do you have rituals or systems around
editing or reflecting? What do you know to be true about your
own creative energy and processes? What just simply works for you?
What doesn't?
Assignments & Adventures
1. Scrapbook exercise: nature
Spend some time in your scrapbook exploring the endless
inspiration that the natural world has to offer us. Refer to this
week's email lesson for more guidance and examples.

2. Make a space of your own at home

Maybe your spare room becomes your sacred sanctuary or perhaps it's
a dedicated space on your bookshelf, back deck or a cushion in the
corner. Carve out a space that is ALL YOURS. How will you
decorate it and express yourself? What needs to occupy this space?
What needs to go? How do you want to feel when you're
hanging out in it? How (and who) do you want to BE in this space?

Discovering Yourself Through Creative Expression
Creativity is simply our soul's expression in the world, right? It's one
of those 'chicken and egg' things: self-awareness inspires creativity
and creativity nurtures self-awareness, both of which nurture our
confidence. Let’s continue to unravel YOU. Use different coloured
markers here or illustrate your responses, glue photos or magazine
cut-outs — turn these pages into a delicious expression of you!

What Are You Afraid Of ?
Anyone who has ever stretched or prioritised themselves has felt the
presence of fear creep in. There are many layers to fear and
resistance and with each layer we peel back, we find an opportunity
to embody more love, power, courage and confidence. Fear's not all
bad. Your fears might relate to a personal venture, a
project, an unexplored dream, a relationship, soul work, a
health goal or something you've perhaps never admitted to
yourself. Fear of failure? Fear of success? Fear around what
people will think? Fear of not finishing? We've all got them.

So, what are you afraid of?

Let's say that what you’re afraid of happening does in fact, happen.
Then what? What s your night are scenario and how will you deal
with that? What resources will be available to you internally and
e ternally? Will you be ? ou now you will!)

Have you had similar, UNREALISED fears before? When have

you feared something and it didn't eventuate?

Working through your fears, let’s unravel them... What evidence do

you have for that fear? s it realistic - really? Where did it develop
and why? What could be a ore positive outco e? What else is
possible? What ight this fear be pointing you towards?
Now - where’s the love?

Rewrite Your Creative Story
This week you heard me share my story around creative self doubt and
we've just dived into the darkness that can arise when we focus on
our self-care and creativity. What are some of the highlights in your
creative journey? And the lowlights? What have you learned?
Explore these with compassion and gratitude. It’s time to
position yourself as triumphant over your self doubt and paint a
picture for the future — one where your soul is nurtured,
listened to and fully expressed, with confidence.

Rewrite your creative story below.

Assignments & Adventures
1. Scrapbook exercise: Words
Spend some time exploring how words can be an anchor point or
tool for creativity. Refer to this week's email lesson for guidance and
examples.

2. Take yourself on an Artist Date

Head to a film or a cafe, a record or book store, a comedy night, a
weaving class, a funky bar or grassy park with your camera or
scrapbook. You might revisit your self-care permission slips or ask for
a few hours solo at home — just go wherever you feel inspired to
romance yourself and have FUN.

Celebration, Commitment & Re-Commitment
Remember what our inner artist loves to do best? CELEBRATE. In
the final week of this journey, we’re sinking into the sweetness of
celebration and crafting a plan as we move forward; to commit to our
self-care practice, our creativity and ultimately, to ourselves. Reflecting
on our time together...

How have you practiced self-care?

What did you experiment with?

Did you learn anything about yourself?

What have you created?

How will you celebrate yourself this week?

Let's look forward. What will you commit to doing, being, believing,
embracing, embodying, having or experiencing in your life?

Well, you are simply astonishing.
A BIG thank you for coming on this journey with me.

I trust that our time together has guided you to invite

in more of your true creative nature — with a playful
curiosity — by letting go of what doesn't support you
to feel good.

Do continue to nurture the seeds you've planted over

these past five weeks and know that you can return to
this workbook, to your scrapbook, to the Facebook
community and to the course materials whenever you
so desire. I hope that you do! (hint: consistency is key.)

I am grateful for your time and presence and inspired

by your commitment to positive change.

BRAVO! and lots of love...
