5E Series Automatic Calorimeter

Maintenance

1. Water circuit: Keep the water circuit clean is very important for the analysis. We’d better change the water

every season and calibrate the heat capacity again, gain some water if it is not enough.

2. Bucket: Keep the bucket clean, the inner wall of bucket has polished, if some dirty parts paste on it, we should

clean it in case of heat exposure.

3. Stirring part: We should pay attention to the stirring part, including the stirring pole and the motor. The speed

of stirring is the key point for the analysis, if stirring too fast, over heat produced by stirring pole will rise the

calorific value; if too slow, with poor temperature homogeneous, the testing temperature will be lower, and

then with lower test value. We can check by hardware debugging, sometimes, we need to gain some oil for

the gear.

4. Ignition electrode: If the ignition electrode can’t ignite, we should clean the surface of ignition electrode by

alcohol or polish it with abrasive paper.

5. Oxygen bomb: When charging the oxygen, we need to care the pressure of the oxygen bottle, we should

overtime charging if the pressure is less than 5MPa, lower than 3MPa is forbidden to use. Pressure testing is

very important for safety use of oxygen bomb. Before we start the experiment, we should check the leakage

of the bomb once a day, change the O-ring inside if the bomb is leak. When charging the oxygen, we need to

care the pressure of the oxygen bottle,
