Game Premise -

The PC's Are hunters from Pioneer 2 in orbit around Ragol.

Brief History -

The homeworld of the Pioneer project was called Coral, this was a paradise that the
humans brought to the brink of destruction via war and stripping the land of
resources in an unsustainable way.

Timeline -

Year - 3010

The planet is confirmed by the scientific group "Coral Science Society" or CSS to
be irrevocably uninhabitable within the next 150 years.

Year - 3060

Initially they are dismissed by the 10 nations, however, after presenting

The purpose of this is to try to find a way to inhabit a new planet.

Year 3065 - An asteroid passes close to Coral, this Asteroid brings with it a new
form of energy, Photon, The 10 nation Alliance and CSS begin studying its
application. There are four main offshoots of research within the two groups.

The 10 nations alliance solely begins work on applying photon energy to weapons and
military applications.

the CSS form three subgroups:

Project: MOTHER

Led by Dr. Caius this project focuses purely on developing an advanced Artifical
intelligence to automate terraforming and climate control with the aim of aiding
the Pioneer project

Project: Pioneer 1

Led by Dr. Tyrell this project focuses on building and designing the Pioneer 1
colony ship using the combined technologies of MOTHER and SUNLIGHT as well as
launching unmanned spacecraft to search for a new planet to inhabit.

Project SUNLIGHT

Led by Dr. Montague, This project focuses exclusively on creating more advanced
energy production and routing.

Year 3068 - Many large developments are made using Photon within the single
asteroid providing a far larger source of Photon than initially thought possible
for its size. Though it is not a limitless energy supply a small portion of it can
provide a vast amount of energy.

One of the unmanned probes returns to Coral indicating a suitable planet, the
planet is studied and the samples brought back confirmed this being approved by
both the CSS and the 10 nation alliance. Unkown to any but the highest brass, some
of the probes were sent to search for the sourch of the Photon and not an
inhabitable planet, it was this one that returned.

The planet was named Ragol in the Algol system.

Year 3071 - Work continues on Pioneer 1, a young Dr. named Osto uses the Photon
energy to create a D-Cell, a portable energy source that can amplify and streamline
the usage of Photon by using universal interchangeable cells.

Year 3076 - Pioneer 1 Launches and carries with it most of Coral's top fighters,
researchers and scientists and computer AI. Among the notable people on P1 are:
Heathcliff Flowen the military leader and great warrior, Rico Tyrell, daughter of
Dr. Colin Tyrell(The leader of Pioneer 1 Project who stayed behind on Coral to
begin work imediately on Pioneer 2), Dr. Osto Hyle (The Creator of the D-Cell), and
Mr. and Mrs. Graves a photon engineer and geneticist. Also along for the ride are 3
Computer AIs, Caius, Olga and Vol Opt (The three products of the Mother project)

Year 3080 - Pioneer 1 lands on Ragol which proves to be a paradise. The weather and
environment is habitable and nice. The animals on the planet are friendly and
docile. Researchers explore the various species living on the land and in the
ocean. Scientists begin to set up bases all over the planet. A large research
facility is built on Gal Da Val island which houses the computer AI Olga. A robot
building plant and factory/mine is set up underground on the main land. This
facility houses Calus and Vol Opt, and is also home to Dr. Osto's first lab. A
large dome is built in the forest to house supplies and a communication center.

Year 3081 - War and Rebellion breaks out once more on Coral, weakening the 10A.
This is due to the fact that the general populous of Coral was mostly kept in the
dark about the Pioneer Project and the fate of the planet, but the signs of the
planets demise were now unimstakable and irreversible causing riots and civil
unrest.

On Ragol, strange ruins are discovered and the team sent to investigate them does
not return.

3082 - A second group is sent, this time, Heathcliff Flowen goes with them. The
entire party is killed with only Flowen surviving, Flowen's body has strange wounds
that shift and darken. Flowen returns to the medical center of P1, and Dr. Osto
attempts to help him. The wounds created are moving and alive. Osto is fascinated,
and wants to conduct experiments. Flowen knows that he will probably die anyway due
to his infections, so he makes a pact with the medical researchers: "If they tell
P2 to stay away from the planet, which he now knows to be very deadly, he will give
his body over to them to use for research." Dr. Osto agrees to this and takes
Flowen away to their Gal Da Val research lab. Once Flowen is sufficiently mutated
and isolated, Osto breaks the promise, and tells P2 to come to the safe 'paradise
world'. Officialy, it is stated that he "Dissappears". Central Dome is completed.

Dr. Osto , descending into further depths in the name of pure science, uses his
underground lab to create a mutant life form, Beta 722. This creature started out
as a small worm like animal, but grew out of control, and escaped, killing the
scientists of Ostos Lab when they tried to move it to another tank. This creature
became known as De Rol Le and Dal Ra Lie. It has the ability to self-replicate so
there are any number of the creatures living in the underground sewers/waterways
below the caves and the mines. This creature has tentacles which it uses to mutate
other life forms and make them violent.
Year 3083 - Ostos' greatest masterpiece, the body of Flowen, began to get out of
control in the lab on Gal Da Val. In an effort to maintain control over the huge
creature, Osto merged it with the AI computer he had been provided for the island
lab: Olga. When that failed to bring the creature under their control, the
scientists dumped it down a huge pit into the failed experiment area.

Believing the message received from P1, P2 is launched and heads for Ragol. On the
Ship are the PCs alongside Military from the 10A, Some of the upper ecehelon of the
general populous (The wealthy elite and those with highly skilled professions) as
well as the remaining CSS Doctors led by Dr. Tyrell. There were no plans for a
Pioneer 3 project and the remaining population was left to die with the planet.

Meanwhile, the animals begin to become violent toward the P1 colonists on Ragol.
Rico Tyrell launches an investigation into this as Osto has been keeping his
experimentation secret.

She finds the true entrance of the ruins, a set columns on the surface of the
planet marked in alien writing with red, green and blue symbols on them.

She is not heard from again.

Everyone on Ragol moves to the Central dome to greet P2 when it arrives, only Dr.
Osto, Rico in a mutated state, Flowen in the prison pit (with Olga contained within
him), the AI Vol Opt which is corrupted by Dark Falz and takes violent control of
the mining robots killing any organic being that enters the mines, and the Only
remaining Sane AI, Caius residing within the main systems running the planet of
Ragol currently, he is fighting against the influence of Dark Falz and Vol Opt on
two fronts as well as doing his best to sabatage the efforts of Dr. Osto.

Year 3084 - The P2 ship arrives in orbit around Ragol, when an attempt is made to
communicate with the Central Dome, a massive explosion decimates a totally
unprepared populous killing everyone inside the dome and destroying it completely.

Dr. Tyrell orders everyone to remain aboard the P2 and begins sending down hunters
to investigate, and to find his daughter.

This is where the game begins with the PCS being some of these hunters.
