in the greatest place value position, a 2 in the
tens place value, a 5 in the least place value
position, and a 7 in the hundreds place. What
is the number?

4. a. At 08:30 AM, Sir Wambura instructed a pupil
to open two water taps, A and B, in order to
fill a tank, and to close the taps once the tank
was filled. Tap A can fill a tank in 12 hours,
and Tap B can fill a tank in 36 hours. If both
taps are opened together, at what time
should the pupil close the taps?
b. Mary's salary has increased by 15%. If her
initial salary was sh. 100,000/=, what is her
new salary?
c. Ellen celebrated her birthday on 29th February
2012. In which year will she celebrate the

5. a. Petro weighs 3.2kg more than Musa. If Musa
