This is an Adventure Frame for Breathless.
It uses the basic rules with several alterations and
can be played without a GM.
You rise on a post-apocalyptic battlefield, flexing your
limbs, shaking out the cobwebs, and taking stock of
your rapidly healing injuries.

You were each one of the RISEN - genetically

engineered supersoldiers who could do marvelous
things to protect New Morgantown from the
post-apocalyptic horrors.

Die, RISE, die and RISE again, each time with more
power than before, but you’ve died and RISEN one
time too many: you’re now scarred but normal and
have one chance to make it back to safety in New
Morgantown.
THE PATH HOME
Roll dice on the events table below to set each
scene. Start at d10 and step down the die each time
you roll. Once you reach the d4 it is your final scene.
If you’re a glutton for punishment, or feel the story
needs another challenge, flip a coin/roll a d2 for an
additional (and really final) scene.

At any point, should you roll the same result as

previously, subtract 1.

Stress Responses
roll two Events and suffer both during each Scene

-1 to all Scavenge Die results

Extra severe complication when you Catch Your

Breath (or -1 to next EVENT roll)

Each PC takes 2 Stress per dangerous failure

Scavenge Checks
When the fiction allows it, you can make a scavenge
check to find weapons, med kits, etc.

When you do a scavenge check, roll a d10.

1 something really fuckin’ bad happens
4-5 you find a d4 item
6-7 you find a d6 item
8-9 you find a d8 item
10 you find a d10 item or a med kit

Each time you roll and get something other than a 1,

the die size steps down (d10 → d8, d8 → d6, etc.)
but not below a d4. Reset the die to d10 when
something really fuckin’ bad happens.
