2 Outline the main food groups and describe the


components of a healthy diet.
A balance diet is a diet consisting of a variety of different types of food
and providing adequate amounts of the nutrients necessary for good
health.
The eat well plate is a clear food guide showing the proportion and types of
foods that are needed to make up a healthy, diverse and balanced diet. The
plate has been produced by the Food Standards Activity as a guide that
aims to help people to understand and enjoy healthy eating.

Carbohydrate: give us energy and helps us control our weight they also benefit
your heart and promote a healthy digestive system. Whole-grain carbohydrates
are especially nutritious because they provide dietary fibre.
carbohydrate are bread, cereal, grain and milk product are the aliment that
contain carbohydrates.

Proteins: is a substance found in food and drink such as meat, eggs, and milk. You
need protein in order to grow and be healthy. Also proteins make our bones
strong and give us energy during the day.

fat: is a natural oily substance occurring in animal bodies, especially when


deposited as a layer under the skin or around certain organs. for example food
that contain fat are mostly oily food like chips,burger,pizza,sandwich.

vitamin A: is important for normal vision it help the immune system to


roduction,also helps the heart, lungs, kidneys, and other organs to work properly.
Vitamin A are foung in meat, fish, poultry. However vitamin a help our orgain to
fight cell damage and has many other uses.

vitamin B: is a nutrient that helps keep the body's nerve and blood cells healthy
and helps make DNA.Vitamin B is naturally found in animal such as fish, meat,
cereal, rice milk.
Vitamin Cmostly found in vegetable and fruit,it helps the body form and
maintain connective tissue. Vitamin C is really important because it help our body
growth and repair the tissue in all part of our bodies. all the aliment that contain
vitamin c are orange, papaya, strawberries and kiwi.
Vitamin D ; it's more obtained from sun exposure, and some aliment that we
consume like Beef liver cheese, egg yolks.
vitamin E ; is controlling the level of blood our body contain and are associated
with muscle weakness that are found especially in wheat germ. Vgetable oils, egg
yolk, and green leafy vegetables are what vitamin E come from.

Vitamin K ; any of a group of vitamins found mainly in green leaves and essential
for the blood-clotting process. for example spinach,Swiss chard, cabbage and
