UNIT 7 – SPEAKING
Activity 1
Play the “Who Am I” game.
Work in small groups. Each group thinks of a famous person you admire and writes down 3 clues
about that person on a piece of paper. Then challenge the other groups to find out who that
famous person is using the clues.
If the answer is found after the first clue, 3 points is given to the group with the correct answer. If
the answer is found after the second clue, 2 points is given, and after the last clue, only 1 point
will be given.
Example: Clue 1: I am from Portugal.
Clue 2: I have won the men’s ballon d’Or five times.
Clue 3: I am a football player.
Answer: Cristiano Ronaldo
Activity 2
Think about ideas to describe a person who you like or admire. Complete the chart, then mingle
and share your ideas with two other friends in class.

When the teacher calls your name, make one sentence with one of the words in the frame.
The other students listen and circle the word.
The winner is the first person to say BINGO.

Do this Part 2 talk. Prepare in one minute, then work in pairs taking turns giving your talk.
Remember to use your ideas in Activity 2 and the connecting words in Activity 3.
Describe a famous person who you like or admire.
You should say:

▪ why they are famous
▪ where and when you saw them
and explain why you like this person.
Note: When listening to your partner’s talk, note down what connecting words they use, and
whether they have answered all the suggested questions within two minutes.
