                                This pattern is divided into 7 parts with optional instructions for
                              changing colors. At the end of Parts 1-6 you can stop and still have a
                                 finished doily or continue onto the next section. Each section
                                                  increases slightly in difficulty.

                                                                                 Blocking and Finishing
                                It is optional but recommended to block your finished piece. Fill a bowl with water and add some liquid starch if
                               you prefer the doily to be lightly stiffened. Soak the doily and gently press out any excess liquid, being careful not
                                to pull or twist on the stitches. Lay it flat on a blocking mat and pin the doily working from the center out to the
                                                         edges. Allow the doily to dry completely before removing the pins.

                                                                                   Round 9
                                             Attaching the thread on Round 9 and making the first front post single crochet (FPSc)
                               Step 1- With the wrong side of your work facing up, insert hook around post of any center dc of the 7-dc group on
                                                                                  Round 7.
                                                    Step 2- Pick up a loop of the thread you are joining and draw through.
                                                                                 Step 3- Ch 1.
                                        Step 4- To make the first FPsc, insert hook around the post of the same dc and pick up a loop.
                                                       Step 5- Pull up a loop, there should be 2 loops now on the hook.
                                                             Step 6- yo and draw through both loops on the hook.

                              Working with the right side of the doily facing up, ch 3 (counts as first dc), and make 6 dc in the same st (the dc of
                              last ch-5 space made). [ch 3 and make 7 dc in the center ch of the next ch-5 space] around. To make the last ch-3
                                                               space- ch 1 and hdc in the third ch of the first dc.

                                                                 Making the first FPdc on Round 11
                                                     Step 1- yo and insert hook around the post of the next dc.
                                                 Step 2- yo and pull up a loop, there should be 3 loops on the hook.
                                                Step 3- yo and draw through 2 loops, 2 loops remaining on the hook.
                                                     Step 4- yo and draw through the last 2 loops on the hook.
