HEAVY-DUTY FLOOR CLEANER FOR WORKSHOPS

PROBLEM BACKGROUND
Maintaining cleanliness in industrial workshops is a persistent challenge due to the
accumulation of dirt, grease, and heavy debris. Current cleaning methods, which often rely on
manual labor and conventional cleaning equipment, are both inefficient and time-consuming.
This creates a less safe working environment and impacts productivity.

In workshops at our university, the reliance on manual cleaning poses risks such as physical
strain and exposure to hazardous materials.
Given these challenges, there is a pressing need for an efficient and effective cleaning
solution tailored to the unique demands of workshop environments. A heavy-duty floor
cleaner would provide a robust and automated solution, minimizing labor intensity and
ensuring thorough cleaning.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
The current cleaning processes in workshops are labor-intensive. This leads to reduced
productivity, and increased operational costs. To address these issues, we propose the
development of a heavy-duty floor cleaner specifically designed for industrial workshop
environments.
AIM
To design and develop a heavy-duty floor cleaner that efficiently removes dirt from
workshop floors, enhancing productivity.

OBJECTIVES
- To design a user-friendly heavy-duty floor cleaner suitable for industrial workshops.
- To develop a prototype equipped with advanced cleaning technologies for effective dirt
removal.
- To test the device for cleaning efficiency, durability, and ease of use in workshop
environments.
- To evaluate the prototype’s ability to improve safety and reduce cleaning time and labor.
- To refine the design based on feedback and testing results to ensure optimal performance.

JUSTIFICATION
The heavy-duty floor cleaner addresses the inefficiencies associated with current manual and
traditional cleaning methods in workshops. By automating and enhancing the cleaning
process, the device will reduce physical strain on workers and create cleaner, more
productive work environments.

CONCLUSION
The proposed heavy-duty floor cleaner offers a practical and effective solution to the
challenges of maintaining cleanliness in industrial workshops. By improving efficiency,
safety, and cleaning performance, this innovation addresses immediate needs while providing
long-term benefits for workshop operations.
