As the summer vaca on begins, it’s a wonderful me for our children to relax, recharge, and also engage in
meaningful learning beyond the classroom. The holiday homework has been though ully designed to help
students explore their interests, revisit concepts already taught, and discover the joy of learning through
crea ve and fun ac vi es.

These assignments will not only help to sharpen their academic and life skills but also encourage values like
responsibility, crea vity, and empathy. We hope that this blend of learning and leisure becomes a valuable
part of their personal growth.

We request your support in guiding your children through these tasks. Do take a moment to remind them of
our cherished SRSM values—reci ng the Bhojan Mantr before meals and keeping a Bird Bite aside for our
feathered friends.

1. Create a folder on Google Drive (With your Name/Class/Admission no.) and upload your videos and
photographs on it.
2. Share the link of the google drive folders with your class teachers latest by 20th June 2025.

4. Put all the A4 size sheets to be submi ed in the clear bag. Don’t forget to write your Name, Class,

1. Big Task, It's a cell phone fast - Taking a break from our phones can be tough, but it’s a great way to connect
more with family. Use this phone-free me to play board games, share funny stories, or talk about memorable
experiences with your parents. It’s all about making the most of me spent together!

2. Making a Thank You Card


Help your child create a personalized thank you card for a family member or a helpful person, like the
milkman or maid. This ac vity encourages gra tude, sparks crea vity, and teaches how to express emo ons
in a though ul way. Use a colorful A-4 sheet to cra a beau ful card and add a special message of thanks!
Card is to be submi ed alongwith HHW and don’t forget to write your name, class, admn. no. on the back of
the card.

3. Washing Fruits and Veggies


Assist your mom in washing fruits and vegetables before they are kept in the refrigerator.

“Rinse, rinse—sparkle and shine! I help Mommy wash what's fresh and fine!”
4. Fill Ice Trays and Water Bo les
Filling ice trays without dropping water and all the water bo les is a remarkable contribu on to the
household chores. Let our kids take this responsibility for refilling bo les for themselves and their family
members.

“Mommy, I am here to help you.”

5. Se ng up the dining table


Set up the dining table for every meal by arranging plates and cutlery in place. Clean up the dining table by
picking the plates and pu ng them in the kitchen sink a er the meal and wiping the table with a wet cloth.

“Mommy, You don’t have to do everything.”

6. Let’s try our hand in Kitchen as well


Sandwich making, salad making, lemonade making, spreading ghee on chapa s, wiping off the slab once
cooking is over, is something that comes under the BASIC category. Let’s give our kids training to take utensils
from elders a er they are done with their food and keep them in the sink. This exercise develops basic cooking
and dining e que es amongst students. Record some candid videos and share with us.

7. Relaxing me for elders:


Let’s learn to give head and foot massages to your parents and grandparents.

8. Brooming and Mopping


Children, do you know that Brooming and Mopping enhances your Fine motor skills, eye and hand coordina on
like a Ninja’s precision and according to ancient wisdom brings good luck and prosperity. Now it’s your turn!!
● Hold the broom comfortably like a magic wand, sweep slowly in one direc on from corner to center, create
a pile of trash and then by using a dustpan collect the garbage and throw it in a bin.
● For mopping mix cleaning solu on with water, wring out excess water. Mop the floor with fineness. Record
yourself and send the video of 1 minute on your class teacher mail Id.

9. Dus ng Time
“Dus ng our surroundings is what hygienic habits are to our body.”- Let’s join hands to carry forward
the same spirit and help our family members to keep our house clean. Grab a duster or just a wet rag
and go over any flat surface in your home, like shelves, tables, or bookcases. Wipe off the surfaces if
they look dingy or dusty.

i. Can we use a wet cloth for the cleaning of electronic devices?
ii. Can we use a normal dus ng cloth to wipe the screens as well?
Click your child’s photograph while they are helping you to keep home clean. Mail the photographs to

10. Make Your Bed, Kids! - Let's make our beds neat and cozy-
Make your own bed, help make your parents' bed too!. Learn to spread the bed sheet smoothly and master
the art of folding corners. Also, cover your pillows perfectly
Get yourself clicked while making the bed and record your mom’s reac on when she sees you working
harder. Share two photographs and 10-15 second videos with your teacher.

11. Hang Clothes to Dry


Teach children how to help with simple laundry tasks like hanging clothes on a rack or clothesline. Once the
clothes are dry, they can assist in folding and bringing them back inside. This hands-on ac vity encourages
children to take part in everyday chores, learn responsibility, and feel proud of helping at home.

12. “The Curious Case of the Wet Towel & Slippery Floor!” - A er your bath, where does your wet towel usually
go? Do you wad it up and throw it on the bed? Leave it in the bathroom? Or neatly hang it on the towel rack
like a towel superhero?
Record your child while hanging the towels to dry, wiping the bathroom floor a er shower and share cool tricks
or rou nes you can start following to keep towel and bathroom dry. Share your video with the class teacher at
on srsmsurbhi@gmail.com a er uploading it on google drive.

13. Declu er to clu er- All the shoes in your house are mixed up, and each pair has a special story. Some are for
running fast, some are for jumping in puddles, and others are for dressing up like royalty.
Your mission: Organize the shoe rack in a way that helps each shoe find its perfect home.
Sort them — by size, color, type, or the adventures they go on.
Get yourself clicked with your arranged shoe rack and share the photograph with your class teacher.

14. Folding Fun – Li le Organizers at Work!


Encourage children to fold towels, handkerchiefs, and their own clothes, then neatly place them in drawers. This
simple task helps build independence, neatness, and hand-eye coordina on—all while giving them a sense of
accomplishment.

15. Learn to Tie Kalawa(Moli) and Shoelaces


Tying a rakhi or Kalawa at anyone’s wrist is like forging a bond and when it comes with shoes, of course you only
create one more rela on.. Small but important to learn to e a knot .

16. Watering Plants and Pruning


Watering plants every day teaches children to care for living things and understand the importance of
nature. This ac vity encourages responsibility and observa on skills—are the leaves drooping? Is the soil
dry? Are the leaves yellow and dry? Should we help the plant by trimming it? What happens when we
remove dry leaves and put them at rest in their pot only?”

17. Family Story Time
Encourage your child to gather the family and read a short story aloud or narrate one from memory.
Whether it’s a favourite book or a tale they create, this simple ac vity helps boost their public speaking
confidence, memory, and communica on skills—all while making storytelling a fun family moment!

18. Check the House Before Leaving


Teach children to take responsibility by checking if lights, fans, and appliances like the A/C are turned off
before leaving the house. They can also help ensure that doors are properly locked. This simple rou ne
encourages habits of energy conserva on and home safety.

19. Kindness in Ac on - As a part of our efforts to inculcate kindness, responsibility and feeling of care for living
beings, we are assigning simple tasks for children.
● Being punctual in caring for their pet animals (if any or any other animal if they are safe) and feeding them
daily. Click some candid photos while the child is feeding the animal.
● Cleaning the water container of birds every day (you can keep a small bowl of water for birds on your
balcony or terrace).Involve your child in daily feeding the birds with the respec ve bird food and keeping
clean water for them. Click one picture every alternate day for 20 days. Make sure the loca on of your
phone is ON and the pictures you click are geotagged.

20. "Share Your Perspec ve!


The classroom is a place where magic never stops and adventure never ends. We all contribute to make it
a be er and more beau ful place. Our teachers entrust us with various responsibili es like class monitor,
group leader, line in charge, language in charge etc. to build confidence and a sense of responsibility.
Do you think students should have these opportuni es, or should teachers only handle them? If given a
chance, which responsibility would you take on and why?
Record a video(30-40 seconds) sharing your thoughts (in Hindi or English) and send it to your class teacher.

21. A Day at My Karmabhoomi


This summer break, take your child to your workplace for a day. Let them witness the dedica on,
discipline, and effort you put in to support the family. It's important they understand that nothing in life
comes without hard work and honest effort. A er the visit, have a conversa on with them—ask what
they observed and how they felt. Students are encouraged to record their experience and share it by
emailing the audio or video to your class teacher.

22. CULTURAL HERITAGE - Discover the Science Behind Indian Tradi ons!
India’s culture and tradi ons are admired across the world for their richness, beauty, and meaning.
But have you ever wondered why we follow certain customs? It’s me to dig deeper and discover the
amazing scien fic reasons behind some of our everyday Indian tradi ons!
Make a presentable video on any 2 Indian tradi ons and the science behind them for about 20 -25
seconds and upload it to Google Drive. Don’t forget to share the link with your teacher.

There’s a scien fic reason behind the tradi onal Indian gree ng. When we join both hands, the ps of
all fingers touch, which are believed to ac vate pressure points linked to the eyes, ears, and mind. This
not only shows respect but is also said to help us remember the person longer!

23. “The Great WHY Hunt – Family Quest!”


Become a “WHY-Explorer” at home!
Ask at least 10 WHY ques ons to your family members and seek their answers. Write down your answers in
your por olio file and make a list if they don’t answer. Bring your list back to class to share!
With Grandparents: Your ques ons can be related to folk tales, Ramayan, Geeta, or history.
Example: “Why did Hanuman ji burn Lanka instead of rescuing Sita right away?”
With Mommy: You can talk about kitchen hacks, laundry ps, shopping tricks, or packing ideas.
Example: “Why do you soak rice before cooking?”
Or
Soaps and Shampoos have colours in them but when we take a bath, we don't see the same colour in the
foam generated a er using them. Why?
With Dad or Brother: You may dive into travel, hotels, routes, favorite cars or phones.

24. Different, Not Less: Embracing Every Mind and Heart”


Children who are born with gene c defects affec ng mental development have poor ability to adapt to the
environment. They have difficulty in communica on and act much younger than their age. Our society generally
rejects such children. Are they responsible for their condi on? Do they deserve to be a part of us? How will you
mark your presence in their lives? Frame your response in 80-100 words.

25. “The Time-Traveling Family Tree ”


Imagine you found a magical seed that can grow into a Family Tree that tells stories!
Your To-Do: Create a 2D or 3D Family Tree with at least four genera ons from your father’s side — star ng
from YOU, all the way to your great-grandparents.
As you build your Family Tree, become a me traveller and explore each genera on! Try to find the answer
to the following ques ons by discussing with family members.
● What were their names and professions?
● What was their work culture and family lifestyle?
● What kind of society did they live in?
● What were their strengths, values, or family rules they followed?
● How was educa on back then? What did they learn and how?
● What were their ea ng habits and favorite foods?
● What tradi onal games or fun things did they enjoy?
● Did they do anything special for the environment or community?

26. “Listening Hearts, Las ng Bonds” – A Visit to an Old Age Home or Orphanage
● Pay a compulsory visit to an Old Age Home or Orphanage (with parents):
Spend me interac ng with elderly residents or kids. Talk to them about their life experiences and
play a game with them if possible. Take a home cooked scrump ous meal for at least one person or
you may take a packet of candies too

● Share your experience in about 150-200 words
