A Report on Teacher Empowerment March to April

Guidance & Counselling


At GD Goenka Public School Siliguri, teacher empowerment is prioritized through a
comprehensive training program led by educators such as Sumala Ma'am, Kulvinder Ma'am,
Director Principal Parinita Ma'am, Pankaj Jha, Yashita Ma'am, and Rubina Ma'am. This
initiative covers essential topics including setting clear learning objectives and success
criteria, understanding diverse learning styles, effective lesson planning, adhering to school
policies and documentation practices, proficient classroom management techniques, and
empowering support staff under POCSO guidelines. The program also emphasizes enhancing
communication skills, promoting mindfulness among teachers, and equipping them to
identify children with disabilities. Moreover, innovative methods like using storytelling to
make mathematics enjoyable are integrated into the curriculum. These efforts ensure that
educators are well-equipped to foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that
promotes both academic excellence and holistic development among students.

Report on Vision Board Sessions Conducted by the Guidance and

Counselling Team
APRIL-MAY
Classes IV - XIII
The Guidance and Counselling Team recently organized "Vision Board"
sessions for our
school students to help them set and visualize their goals for the year. During these
sessions,
students learned about the importance of setting achievable short-term goals in
various areas,
including academics, finances, travel, and family bonding. They were guided on how
to plan
their academic tasks, save money, set travel aspirations, and strengthen family ties.
Each
student brought art and craft materials to create personalized vision boards, cutting
out
images and words from magazines that represented their goals. These vision boards
served as
visual reminders to stay motivated and focused. The activity not only enhanced their
creativity and planning skills but also fostered a sense of community as they shared
their
goals with their peers. Overall, the sessions were a great success, inspiring students
to work
towards their aspirations throughout the year.
AEROBAY LAB

Get to know the AeroBay Lab


There is an old adage, “Teach me and I forget, show me and I
remember, involve me and I understand”. Keeping this fundamental
educational tenet in mind, G D Goenka Public School Siliguri created
AeroBay Lab, the only of its kind in this part of the country, which is a
complete 360 degree experiential learning ecosystem for the students
focusing on each and every domain of STEAM education (Science,
Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics), imparting 21 st century
scientific and industrial skills and preparing them for futuristic career
domains such as Aerospace, Space, Robotics, E-Vehicles, Drones,
Meteorology, Designing and many more prospective technological
innovations. In the AeroBay Lab, students make things with their own
hands and test them, under the guidance of experts in the field and learn
the intricacies of scientific and engineering principles at their deeper
levels. Here, the students are given an opportunity to think, explore,
design and solve problems.
From the start of the new academic session, till the commencement of
summer vacation i.e. April, 24 to June, 24 students did the following
activities in the AeroBay Lab:

Once an activity is completed, students are given a worksheet for


assessing their level of understanding about the science and technology
involved in the activity and further assistance is provided to those who
need more attention.

REPORT ON EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES


MIDDLE SECTION

1. SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON EARTH DAY


A special assembly on Earth Day was conducted by the Middle School students , led by Class
8B. The students delivered poignant speeches highlighting the importance of Earth Day and
environmental conservation. Students exhibited their artistic talents through beautiful Earth
Day-themed drawings, while a thought-provoking poem urged everyone to open their eyes
and protect the environment. The assembly concluded with reflections on the day’s theme, a
spirited rendition of the school song, and an engaging session where students defined Earth
Day in their own words, showcasing their understanding and commitment to environmental
stewardship.

2.STARCH AND FAT TEST (SCIENCE EXPERIMENT)


Hands-on experiments engage students actively, allowing them to participate directly in the
learning process. This active engagement enhances comprehension and retention of concepts
compared to passive learning methods. It also stimulates curiosity and makes them inquiry-
driven. G.D. Goenka Public School, Siliguri is one of the institutes which always encourages
its students to explore and investigate more about their topic which motivates students to ask
questions.The students of class 6 performed a hands on experiment for starch and Fat test
during the Science period . It was a joyous moment to see them ‘learning by doing’.

3.COMPARISON BETWEEN HEALTHY AND JUNK FOOD (Science Activity)


A balanced diet refers to eating a variety of foods that provide the nutrients your body needs
to function optimally.
Balance and junk food represent two ends of the spectrum when it comes to dietary choices.
While balance promotes health and well-being, junk food can have adverse effects on health
when consumed excessively. Achieving a balance between indulging in occasional treats
while primarily nourishing the body with wholesome foods is key for maintaining a healthy
lifestyle.
4.GROWING RHIZOPUS (BREAD MOULD) AND OBSERVING
UNDER MICROSCOPE( SCIENCE EXPERIMENT)
Fungus are saprotrophs that grow under hot and humid conditions in dark if the spores in the
air find a suitable substratum. The class VII students brought conducted an experiment by
putting a slice of bread in a container,sprinkling some water and keeping it in the dark in their
classroom. After 3-4 days, Rhizopus, commonly called bread mould started growing on the
bread. Later the students were taken to the biology lab to observe the structure of Rhizopus
under a microscope.

from classes II to XII performed Four group dance. Participants from classes II to XII
showed great enthusiasm in their performance. RABINDRA JAYANTI CELEBRATION
was a successful event.

On 29th April, WORLD DANCE DAY was celebrated in G.D.G.P.S where different
dance forms were taught to the students and teachers of all classes LGG to V
had taken part in the workshop. International Dance Day was celebrated with much joy.
Teachers and students mastered some dance moves with lots of enthusiasm.

On 18TH May INTER HOUSE SOLO DANCE COMPETITION FINALE was organised that
laid the platform for students to showcase their talent in different dance forms such
as Indian classical, western and folk. Participants from classes III to VIII showed great
enthusiasm in their performance. The INTER HOUSE SOLO DANCE COMPETITION
FINALE was conducted in one shift. INTER HOUSE SOLO DANCE FINALE was a
successful event.

REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF APRIL

1. SECONDARY ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR THE PARENTS


An orientation program for the parents and students of Class IX was organized in the
Meghavee Block on April 6, 2024. The teachers of the secondary section apprised the
parents of the latest CCE directives issued by CBSE. Additionally, parents were
informed about the school's rules and regulations, transportation details, and the
school app. The program concluded with a parent-teacher meeting.

2. WORLD ART DAY


Creativity takes courage.” G.D. Goenka Public School, Siliguri, celebrated World Art
Day on April 15, 2024. This day commemorates the birth anniversary of the famous
Italian painter Leonardo da Vinci and aims to promote awareness of creative activities
worldwide. It honours the diversity of artistic expressions and their role in society.
Students of Classes IX and X participated in various events, exhibitions, workshops,
drawings, and paintings to celebrate artistic heritage and inspire creativity. The
celebration highlighted the importance of art in fostering cultural understanding and
enriching human experiences, showcasing both traditional forms and contemporary
innovations.

3. GIRLS VOLLEYBALL TEAM AT SALESIAN COLLEGE, SONADA


The Girls Volleyball Team of G.D. Goenka Public School, Siliguri, participated in a
volleyball competition at Salesian College, Sonada, on April 21, 2024. The week-long
tournament featured an exciting display of talent and teamwork from various teams.
The event provided a platform for both amateur and professional athletes to showcase
their skills. The Volleyball team of G.D. Goenka Public School, Siliguri, secured the
runners-up trophy. The Volleyball Championship was a resounding success, marked
by breathtaking plays and a spirit of camaraderie among the participants. It concluded
with an award ceremony where teams were applauded for their efforts and
sportsmanship.

4. EARTH DAY
Earth Day was observed at G.D. Goenka Public School, Siliguri, on April 22, 2024.
The celebration included a special assembly in the auditorium with students from
classes IX and X. The event began with a morning prayer, followed by students taking
a pledge to preserve and conserve Earth. Class X students performed a skit dedicated
to Mother Earth, and the Director Principal encouraged students to speak openly
about environmental issues. Earth Day serves as a global reminder of the importance
of environmental protection and sustainability. The students participated in various
activities, including sapling planting initiatives and cleanup campaigns, to raise
awareness and advocate for the preservation of our planet.
5. ACTIVITY NAME: POLITICAL PALATE: EXPLORING GOVERNANCE
THROUGH WORLD CAFÉ CLASS IX
Class IX hosted the "Political Palate" activity, transforming the classroom into a
vibrant café. Students embarked on a culinary journey through the political landscapes
of Spain, France, Russia, and Myanmar, seated at four distinct tables, each
representing a country.
Tables were laden with articles providing insights into the political dynamics of each
nation. Students analyzed these articles, identifying key ingredients of governance,
rights, and freedoms that distinguish democratic from non-democratic systems.
Engaged in lively discussions, they critically assessed whether each country leaned
towards democracy or autocracy.
After thorough deliberation, representatives presented their findings to peers,
articulating their arguments with clarity and conviction. This immersive experience
deepened students' understanding of diverse political systems. The activity concluded
with students filling out feedback forms, reflecting on their learning. The event
successfully fostered critical thinking, collaboration, and public speaking skills.

REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF MAY

1. RABINDRA JAYANTI
Rabindra Jayanti was celebrated with fervour at G.D Goenka Public School, Siliguri,
on May 8, 2024. The event was marked by a series of cultural programs that paid
homage to Rabindranath Tagore's profound contributions to Bengali literature and
culture. Students and teachers alike participated enthusiastically, showcasing their
talents through recitations of Tagore's poems, mesmerizing performances of Rabindra
Sangeet, and captivating dance-dramas inspired by his literary works. The celebration
not only highlighted Tagore's enduring legacy but also underscored the school's
commitment to preserving and promoting his rich cultural heritage.

2. FELICITATION OF THE STUDENTS OF CLASS X


The AISSE results for Class 10 at G.D. Goenka Public School, Siliguri, were
announced on May 13, 2024, showcasing outstanding academic achievements. The
school recorded a perfect 100% pass rate, with Devang Kaushik Sharma securing the
highest percentage (98.6%) in North Bengal. Several students achieved perfect scores
in subjects like Mathematics and Social Science, reflecting their hard work and
dedication. This exceptional performance underscores the quality of education and
supportive learning environment at G.D. Goenka Public School. On May 20, the
students were felicitated by the Honourable Chairman, Respected Director Principal
Ma’am, and teachers. They congratulated the students and their parents, celebrating
the collective effort and commitment to academic excellence at the school. This
achievement is a testament to the students' perseverance and the unwavering support
of the school's faculty and administration.

3. BUDDHA JAYANTI
Buddha Jayanti was celebrated at G.D. Goenka Public School, Siliguri on May 23,
2024, with reverence and enthusiasm. The event honored Gautama Buddha's birth,
enlightenment, and passing, featuring Buddhist scripture chanting, meditation, and
cultural presentations. Students and teachers engaged in activities promoting peace,
compassion, and mindfulness, fostering a deeper appreciation for Buddha's teachings.
4. KICKBOXING NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
The Kickboxing National Championship in Pune on May 26, 2024, featured G.D
Goenka Public School, Siliguri students competing in various weight categories. They
showcased exceptional skills and sportsmanship, highlighting their dedication to
fitness and discipline. The event was marked by thrilling matches and enthusiastic
audience support, emphasizing the school's commitment to promoting sports and
nurturing young athletes.

5. INTER-HOUSE CHEESE CHAMPIONSHIP


The Inter-House Chess Championship was organised at G.D Goenka Public
School ,Siliguri on May 26, 2024, fostering a spirit of strategic thinking and
competition among students. Representatives from various houses competed in a
series of intense matches, demonstrating their analytical skills and concentration. The
event provided an excellent platform for students to showcase their chess prowess,
encouraging intellectual development and sportsmanship. The championship
concluded with the winning house being celebrated for their tactical acumen and
teamwork, highlighting G.D Goenka Public School's dedication to promoting mental
discipline and cognitive skills through chess.

6. "ELECTORAL GEOGRAPHY: AN INTEGRATED ACTIVITY FOR


GEOGRAPHY AND POLITICAL SCIENCE - IX,"
In the integrated activity "Electoral Geography: An Integrated Activity for Geography
and Political Science - IX," students explored the influence of geographical factors on
political boundaries and electoral outcomes. Beginning with an introduction to India's
electoral system and basic geographical concepts, students were divided into groups
focusing on different states or regions. Through research and analysis, they mapped
constituencies, identified geographical features, and analyzed population distribution.
Students then correlated their findings with political boundaries, created
presentations, and engaged in class discussions to share and interpret their results.
Through this process, they gained insights into the interplay between geography and
political science, enhancing their research, presentation, and critical thinking skills.

7. INTER SCHOOL QUIZ COMPETITION


On May 10th, GDGPS participated in the Surendra Agarwal Memorial Quiz at DPS
Siliguri, competing against 55 teams from Siliguri, Sikkim, Darjeeling, Kurseong,
Kalimpong, and Dooars. Both their junior and senior teams qualified for the stage
rounds, with the juniors achieving 2nd Runners Up and the seniors securing 1st
Runners Up positions in the finals.
LIBRARY

Name of Event: Debate: "Child Labour: Necessary Evil for Survival or


Inexcusable Violation of Rights"

Brief Description of the Event: In May, Class 12 Commerce B, conducted by


the Vice Principal, held a debate in the school library on the topic "Child
Labour: Evil for Survival or Inexcusable Violation of Rights," related to their
chapter "Lost Spring." Divided into two groups, students engaged in discussions
before presenting their arguments. Proponents argued that child labour is a
necessary means of survival for impoverished families, citing real-life examples
where children’s earnings are essential. Opponents condemned child labour as a
violation of children's rights, emphasizing its role in perpetuating poverty and
exploitation, and advocating for stricter laws. The debate was characterized by
well-researched arguments and respectful exchanges, concluding with insightful
feedback from the Vice Principal, who praised the students' efforts and critical
thinking on this important social issue.

Name of Event: Learn how: using dictionary

Brief Description of the Event: Our library organized an educational activity for
124 Class 3 students, teaching them how to use a dictionary. The session
included an introduction to the importance and structure of dictionaries,
followed by practical tasks where students searched for specific words. This
hands-on approach helped them learn to navigate the pages and understand
word meanings, pronunciation, and usage. The students participated
enthusiastically, showing marked improvement in using dictionaries
independently by the end of the session. The activity was a great success,
enhancing their learning and confidence in using reference tools

Name of Event: Questionnaire on Rabindranath Tagore’s Life & works.

Brief Description of the Event: In this activity for 12th grade Commerce B,
students explored the life and works of Rabindranath Tagore through an
engaging narrative session. After listening to the story, they were given a
questionnaire to assess their understanding. Each student wrote their answers on
individual small boards and displayed them simultaneously. This interactive
method aimed to enhance comprehension, recall, and collaborative learning
while fostering critical thinking and participation.

Name of Event: Read Aloud

Brief Description of the Event: In the read-aloud activity conducted in the


Goenkan library, Class 2 students took turns reading stories aloud to their
classmates. Each student selected a book and read it in front of the group,
focusing on clear articulation and expressive reading. The activity aimed to
create an interactive and supportive atmosphere where students could practice
their reading skills, listen attentively to others, and engage in discussions about
the stories. This collaborative exercise not only enhanced their literacy and
communication skills but also fostered a sense of community and shared
enjoyment of literature.
Name of Event: ARTICLE WRITING/DISCUSSION ON HUMAN BODY
(ENCYLOPEDIA BASED ACTIVITY)

Brief Description of the Event: In a buzz of discovery, Classes 4 & 5


transformed the school library into a human body exploration center. Equipped
with specialized human body encyclopedias, students became mini-researchers,
delving deep into chosen topics. They crafted informative articles based on their
discoveries. Lively group discussions then filled the air as students shared
knowledge and collaborated. This engaging activity, conducted right in the
library, sharpened research, writing, and critical thinking skills, making the
human body a wondrous learning adventure.
Brief Description of the Event:
In a recent library session, students participated in an engaging activity designed
to enhance their creativity and story writing skills. Each student was given a
unique, thought-provoking scenario to inspire their narrative crafting. This
activity aimed to encourage imagination, critical thinking, and effective
storytelling, resulting in a diverse and compelling collection of student-created
stories.
During the holidays, students from classes 2 to 8 participated in a library
activity where they read books of their
choice, either issued from the library or from their own collection and wrote a
book review or summary. This activity
aimed to enhance their reading and writing skills.
BOARDING

Traditional New Year Celebration at Boarding – 14th April


Children from boarding took part in the festivities on 14 th April 2024 on the
occasion of Nepali & Bengali new year .
It was an occasion where boarders were able to connect & witness to other
festivities in different parts of India like Bihu from Assam , Vishu from
kerala , Baisakhi from Punjab & Puthandu from Tamil Nadu.
Children enjoyed different delicacies in meals to understand multi-cultural
cuisines.
A Cultural program was held from boarding section, children danced, sang and
enacted a play to represent the importance of New Year celebration.
It was a welcome programme of boarding section after session break.

Open Mike Session- Boarding Section – 1st May 2024


On 1st May, an Open mic session was organized for the boarding students.
The Main objective of the program was to provide a platform and opportunity to
our boarders to come forward and express & represent their talent.
Students from class II to XII participated in the event.
The Main highlight of the show was performance by the students of class VI
presenting songs of Bryan Adams and CCR of the band Void Breakers.
Rabindra Jayanti Celebration - 7th May 2024
Our Boarding students celebrated 163 rd Birth Anniversary of Guru
Rabinranath Tagore at the hostel courtyard. Celebration was started with the
welcome note and importance of celebrating the birth anniversary of Kavi Guru
Rabinranath Tagore by Deepak Lepcha sir , Hostel in charge.
Aditya Agarwal of class 11 commerce student of our Boarding gave the speech
on the lives of Tagore in English.
Anish Gupta of class of 12 highlighted about the writings and achievements of
Tagore in Hindi.
Phule Phule Dhole Dhole a very popular Bengali Song written by Rabindranath
Tagore similar to Ye Banks and Bares a Scottish song written by Robert Burns a
celebrated Scottish poet and lyricist was sang by the students of class VI.
Rishav Raj of class XI recited one of the popular poem of Tagore Ekla Chalo
Re in English version.
Akansha Anand of class X gave speech on Tagore's family in English.
Sonar Tori a famous poem of Tagore recited by Nehal Gupta of class 9 in
Bengali followed by English speech on Tagore's early education by Gazi
Sadam of class IX.
Classes II to VIII students from the girls' section performed Bengali dance
under the guidance of Bidhi Choudhary.
Where the mind is Without Fear a very touching poem of Tagore was recited by
Tejveer Singh of junior section followed by the recitation of Bengali poem by
Nipobithi Layek of class 2.
Seema ma'am house parent read out the letter written by Rabinranath Tagore to
her grandfather which was inspiring for everyone.
Last, but not the least at the end of the celebration there was an open Mike
session where our junior sections children took part actively and performed
their hidden talents.

Work Shop on Table Manners and personal Hygiene


An Interactive session was conducted with students of Class I to Class V
Boarders (Boys & Girls) and Class VI to VIII (Boys & Girls) on table manners
and personal hygiene.
PPTs were shown in which children were trained in hand wash, use of table
napkins and Table etiquettes.
Training was also given on personal hygiene and self-care by medical
department .The Program was quite effective and helpful for the children.
Buddha Jayanti Celebrations at Boarding – 22nd May 2024
Our Boarding students celebrated 2586 th Birth Anniversary of Gautam
Buddha. Assembled in the auditorium last evening our children were very
devotee when we started the celebration.
Celebration was started with a welcome note by the in charge and had one
minute of meditation with the hymn OM MANE PADME HUN.
Later students were told the meaning of Om Mane Padme Hun through the help
of video clipping of His Holiness Dalai lama.
P.P.T was presented by the two students of class IX based on the life of Buddha.
Phool Ko Akhai maa ( फूलको आँखैमा) very soothing and popular hymn was
sang by the girls students of class VIII .
PPT on Buddhist flag was also presented by the students.
The Parable of the mustard seed a short skit based on Buddha's teaching was
done by the students of class VIII.
BOARDING STUDENTS CELEBRATED WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY
2024
Our Boarding students celebrated World Environment Day 2024 with a message
that plant at least two trees in a year our students from classes I to VIII got up
early in the morning and went to the school compound and watered the plants
and put their name tags on the pots and took the vow that they will take the
responsibility of nurturing the plants.
Our Boarding students drew the pictures on the chart papers based on the
environment day giving the message save our earth and avoid deforestation.
Our students were excited and very happy to observe the World Environment
Day 2024 giving the message Plant at least two trees in a year.
SENIOR SECONDARY

Orientation session and Introductory PTM for Class XI


On 20th April 2024, G.D. Goenka Public School conducted an orientation session and
introductory Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) for the new Grade XI students. The event
marked the commencement of the new academic session and aimed to familiarize parents and
students with the school’s policies and expectations. This informative session ensured that
both parents and students were well-informed about the academic framework and code of
conduct at the school.
Olympiad Achievers Shine Bright

prestigious Olympiads and co-scholastic events.
Md. Sheroz Afzal has made us proud by securing the West Bengal Rank 1 in the
Mathematics Olympiad.
In the realm of Computer Science, we have two shining stars. Hiral Airan achieved the
impressive National Rank 3 in the Computer Science Olympiad, while Sara Agarwal excelled
even further by securing the National Rank 2. Their accomplishments reflect their deep
understanding and passion for the subject.
Adding to these accolades, Nima Gelbu Sherpa has demonstrated remarkable skill in sports.
He achieved the prestigious National Rank 1 (Nepal) in the under-18 men category of the
FIBA Basketball National Rankings.

EARTH DAY

Our planet is an amazing place, but it needs our help to thrive! This Earth Day, the Senior
Secondary Section students took a proactive role in raising environmental awareness within
our school community. They engaged in poster-making and slogan-writing activities, crafting
creative and impactful messages to promote consciousness about environmental issues. The
event was further highlighted by a special assembly, where students shared their thoughts on
the importance of protecting our planet and presented their posters and slogans. This
assembly served as a platform to inspire the entire school to contribute to a sustainable future.

Varghese Memorial Volleyball Tournament at SCS

The girls' volleyball team showcased remarkable skill and teamwork at the Varghese
Memorial Volleyball Tournament held at Salesian College, Sonada. Competing against seven
other formidable teams, our athletes displayed exceptional dedication and sportsmanship
throughout the event.

With determination and excellent coordination, our team advanced through the tournament,
securing victories in several matches. Their relentless efforts and strategic gameplay led them
to the finals, where they earned the prestigious Runner's Up position.

Felicitation Ceremony 2024

Achievement stems from hard work, choices, and persistence, as seen in the outstanding
success of our students in the AISSE and AISSCE Examinations 2024. This year, 38 students
scored above 90% in AISSCE 2024, and 50 students scored above 90% in AISSE 2023.
Subject toppers were also honoured for their excellence. Notably, Master Devang Kaushik
Sharma (Class X) and Miss Lavanya Adhikari (XII HUM) were not only school toppers but
also the highest achievers in the entire North Bengal Region, adding to the prestige of the
ceremony. Additionally, G.D. Goenka Siliguri was ranked number one among the 126
branches of G.D. Goenka schools nationwide, marking another milestone in our journey of
success.

Constitutional Simulation: Class XI Humanities


In the "Constitutional Simulation" activity, Class XI Humanities students embarked on a
transformative journey, embodying the principles of democracy and justice. Each student,
representing diverse communities, contributed unique perspectives to lively discussions on
themes such as gender equality, reservation, caste systems, rights of religious minorities, and
social justice.

This activity allowed every voice to be a quill, every idea a proposal, and every amendment a

Artist Meet Field Trip


The painting department students had a wonderful experience meeting renowned artist Ajay
Kumar Sarkar, famous for his fingernail art. They learned a lot from the veteran artist, who
holds various accolades, including a Limca Book of Records entry and the Indian Icon Award
2022.

The Stage: Musical Talent Showcase


The Stage is a platform for students to showcase their musical talent in singing and playing
instruments, whether solo, duet, quartet, or band performances. This year, many students
from Classes XI and XII captivated the audience with their spellbinding performances,
leaving a lasting impact on all who attended.

Don Bosco MUN 2024


Master Grisam Agarwal and Master Araa Agarwal of Class XII participated in BMUN 2024.
Grisam was named the Most Promising Delegate of the UNCSW Committee, while Araa
received a Special Mention award for the UNSC. Charu also earned a Special Mention in the
UNCSW Committee.

Youth of India MUN 2024 – DPS Fulbari


Over 105 children from GDGPS participated in the YOIMUN at DPS Fulbari. Vaishnavi
Baskota, Niky Thapa, and Siddharth Sonam Palzor won Best Delegate Awards. Sharmishta
Kundu was named the Most Promising Delegate. Anish Gupta, Riya Chettri, and Abhinav
Choudhury received High Recommendations. Additionally, over seventeen others won
awards in various categories.

Our school trip, from June 4th to June 11th, 2024, was a thrilling blend of adventure and
education, filled with unforgettable experiences across various destinations. We began our
journey by flying from Bagdogra to Bangalore, where we checked into our hotel and spent an
enjoyable evening exploring Phoenix Mall. The next day, we traveled to Mysore, where we
visited the majestic Mysore Palace and witnessed a captivating musical fountain show. On
our way to Ooty, we explored St. Philomena’s Church and Bandipur National Park, arriving
in the scenic hill station by evening.

In Ooty, we toured lush tea gardens, reached the summit of Doddabetta Peak, and enjoyed the
botanical garden's beauty. The return journey to Bangalore was filled with anticipation for the
following day at Wonderla Amusement Park, where we experienced thrilling rides and
endless entertainment. Our visit to ISRO was particularly fascinating; we saw exhibits of
rockets and satellites and learned about India's space missions from knowledgeable scientists.

Following this, we spent time at Orion Mall for shopping and leisure. Evenings were marked
by cozy bonfires where we sang songs, told stories, and danced under the starry sky, creating
a magical atmosphere. The bus rides themselves were lively and fun, filled with songs,
games, and snacks. The trip concluded as we departed from Bangalore and returned to
Bagdogra. This trip was a perfect balance of education and adventure, making it an
unforgettable experience filled with cherished memories and strengthened friendships.
