of the components should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the

internal mechanism. Precision components can be damaged by contaminants or by dirt. Perform


disassembly procedures on a clean work surface. Keep components covered and protected at all
times.

For Tooling (A).

1. Use Tooling (A) to apply slight lifting tension to front axle (1).

2. Use Tooling (A1) to apply slight lifting tension to front axle (1). Refer to Tool Operating
Manual, NEHS1303, "Lift Group (Stand - 25 Ton)" for more information on Tooling (A1).

3. Attach a suitable lifting device onto both ends of wheel lean bar (2). The weight of wheel
lean bar (2) is approximately 57 kg (125 lb).

4. Disconnect strap (3). Remove bolt (4) and retainer (5). Repeat this step for the opposite end.

5. Disconnect the suitable lifting device from one end of wheel lean bar (2).

6. Use the remaining suitable lifting device to remove wheel lean bar (2).

7. Remove lip seals (6) from wheel lean bar (2). Repeat this step for the remaining lip seals.

8. Use Tooling (B) to remove bearing (7) from wheel lean bar (2). Repeat this step for the
remaining bearing.

Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, thoroughly clean all parts in cleaning
fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Do not use wiping cloths or rags to dry parts. Lint may be
deposited on the parts which may cause trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or
damaged, use new parts for replacement. Dirt and other contaminants can damage the precision
component. Perform assembly procedures on a clean work surface. Keep components covered and
protected at all times.

1. Use Tooling (B) to install bearing (7) (not shown) into wheel lean bar (2). Install bearing (7)
to a dimension of 7.50 ± 0.40 mm (0.300 ± 0.016 inch) below the face of wheel lean bar (2).
Repeat this step for the remaining bearing.

2. Use Tooling (D) to install lip seals (6) into wheel lean bar (2). Repeat this step for the
remaining lip seals.

3. Use a suitable lifting device to install wheel lean bar (2). The weight of wheel lean bar (2) is
approximately 57 kg (125 lb).

4. Install retainer (5) and bolt (4). Repeat this step for the opposite end.

Note: The gap between retainers (5) and wheel lean bar (2) must be a minimum of 0.80 mm
(0.031 inch).

5. Remove Tooling (A1) from front axle (1). Refer to Tool Operating Manual, NEHS1303,
"Lift Group (Stand - 25 Ton)" for more information on Tooling (A1).
