How to use this Book
Coloring for Stress Relief and Relaxation
Coloring is a great form of relaxation and stress relief. Sometimes
compared to forms of meditation, the simple act of coloring puts your mind in a
state of “now.” It allows your brain into go into a relaxed state, letting you focus
on something enjoyable, predictable but still creatively stimulating.
Coloring
We have printed our coloring pages on a single side, so your
coloring does not bleed through to another design. However, we
recommend as a precaution placing a pencil board or other smooth
piece of board to ensure there is no bleed-through.
Recommended Media
With the paper weight of this book the recommended medias are
colored pencils, crayons and pencil crayons.
You can use certain markers but is it recommended that you place a
pencil board or a piece of card board to prevent bleed through.

The Art of Rosemåling
Rosemåling, or rosemaling, is a Scandinavian decorative folk art painting,
originating in parts of Norway. Rosemåling is usually painted on wood and uses
stylized flowers, scrollwork, lines, and other stylized elements.
Rosemaling came into existence in 1750, in the rural areas of Norway,
and was used to cover ceilings, walls, furniture, wooden bowls, boxes, and
trunks. Typically, Rosemaling was done by farmers as an additional source of
income and was most common by farmers with smaller farmsteads.
By the 1900’s, Rosemaling had gone out of style, but in the 1940, the
work of Per Lysne, an immigrant who moved to Stoughton, Wisconsin, began a
surge of popularity of Rosemaling in the United States. Since then, the interest
in Rosemaling has increased and can be found being taught throughout the
United States.
The artwork seen in this book has been created using digital painting in the
Rosemaling style, utilizing digital canvas and brush to bring the traditional
technique to the new modern medium. These designs are inspired by traditional
Rosemaling styles that have been repeated and passed down through the craft.
