1- “The way of managing people at work, so that they give their
best at the organization” is a good definition of HRM.

False, as the good definition of HRM should meet several basic


criteria as follows:
• Inclusion of domains & goals. The definition presented includes goals but doesn’t include domains,
• Inclusion of domains & HR unit. The definition doesn’t include either.
• Clarification of HRM as a joint task of both line managers and HR manager. The definition stated
doesn’t include that .
• Clarification that HRM covers all employees in the organization, including leaders. When the
definition stated (managing people), it may refer to the meaning of all human resources in the
organization.
• The definition should be clear and not contain cloudy words. When the definition referred to the
word (people), it makes some confusion with the definition of management which indicates that
management is "to do things through others", and the word (people) itself is not clear enough to
express employees.
• The definition should be short, that we cannot delete or add words to it. In the definition provided
several phrases should be added to be a comprehensive definition.
