inception as a University in May 2013, IGDTUW has been recognized at National and International levels as

Ÿ IGDTUW has proudly signed an MOU with University of Wollongong Australia (UOWA) for 2+2 Credit
Transfer Articulation. Students enrolled in this scheme shall study 2 years each in India and Australia
respectively. Students will be awarded International Degree by University Wollongong Australia (UOWA)
and gets an International Exposure of Dynamic market of the technical horizon.
Ÿ IGDTUW is decorated with prestigious NAAC A+ in recent assessments. IGDTUW is only 2nd NAAC A+
Grade University in Delhi.

From Academic session 2024-25 onwards, the University is NEP 2020 compliant and shall enable lexible
learning for Indian Women students. The university is committed about developing Sustainable systems
and State-of-the-Art infrastructure to enable the Indian women to become future Leaders, Managers,
Researchers, and Productive Team Players in the ield of Science, Engineering, Technology and
Management.

Infrastructure and Transforming students into Leaders through Meticulous Programs


IGDTUW has a State-of-the-Art infrastructure comprising of modern well-equipped Labs, fully Wi-Fi
enabled campus, Computer Centre, fully Automated Library, Auditorium, Multi-purpose Hall, Conference
Room, Seminar Room, Hostels, Sports & Recreational Facilities, etc. Labs are equipped with high end latest
hardware, software and other necessary equipment. University has procured supercomputing system i.e.
DGXA100 GPU Server from NVIDIA which has 8 number of A100 GPUs with 40 GB memory per GPU along
with 100TB storage. Also State of the Art computing labs and licensed software including MATLAB, PTC
CREO, CATIA, OXYGEN Forensics Toolkit, FluidSim, NetSim etc along with a basket of open-source software
and toolkits.

The university has worked hard to build a strong Academic Curriculum with a rich diversity of courses and is
working towards new Academic Initiatives. Academic Innovations have always been topmost in the
priorities of the University.

With globalization, today's graduates need to be lexible, to be able to learn quickly and to be able to innovate
to produce products and services that can cater to local needs and global standards. The institute has
designed the B. Tech. curriculum from the ground up to produce Technology-savvy Leaders and Designers
for future India through the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) based curriculum where student has
freedom to study subjects of her choice. NEP 2020 compliance has forti ied the syllabus contents and
learning lexibility to best suit the aspirations of future Indian generations, requirements of Industry 6.0 and
economic upbeats in the path of Developed India by 2047.

Curriculum includes subjects from Departmental Core Courses, Departmental Elective Courses, Skill
Enhancement Courses, Ability Enhancement Courses, Interdisciplinary and Multidisciplinary Courses and
Generic Open Elective Courses. Students can also join MOOC courses from NPTEL and other industry
supported platforms. Students can choose the Project Track, Research Track or Entrepreneur Track based
on her interest for minor and major project work. As per NEP 2020 guidelines, students have lexibility for
Multiple Entry and Multiple Exit option during the program.

The curriculum has a broad base of courses in Engineering, Management, Humanities and Architecture. The
syllabi are continuously updated and new courses are added from time to time. Academic Council and the
Boards of Studies have strong representations from industry in addition to academicians from top Academic

Admission under DASA and Sports Category


Besides JAC, IGDTUW offers admissions to international students through the Direct Admission of Students
Abroad (DASA) scheme. This program allows foreign nationals, Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), and Non-
Resident Indians (NRIs) to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate courses at IGDTUW. The University
recognizes the importance of sports and encourages talented women sportspersons to pursue higher
education. Two seats have been reserved for sports category. For admission and information about DASA

Ecosystem for Research


Research is an integral and most important part of IGDTUW. As a Technical University we are keen on
promoting faculty and students for research work.

a. Promote Quality Research


i. Research Incentives and Awards to celebrate exceptional performances: Every year, faculty
members/PG/PhD researchers are awarded with a Cash Prize & Award for outstanding contribution to
Research.
ii. Research Awards for Students: To boost the culture of Research & Innovation, students at UG/PG Level
are bestowed with Cash Prize & Certi icates for best paper publication.
iii. Research Grants: IGDTUW provides inancial assistance to all the faculties/students to participate in
conferences at National/International level.
iv. Premier and Commendable Patent Awards: A cash prize is awarded along with a certi icate of merit for
Grant of US/UK Patent and Indian Patent. Respectively.
v. Research Awards: Cash prize(s) for research under
Outstanding/Premier/Commendable/Motivational categories is also instituted for promotion of
research.

b. Promote Sponsored Research: IGDTUW has fetched more than 15 projects from Department of Science
& Technology (DST), Ministry of IT & Electronics (MietY), Department of IT and Electronics (DietY), Ministry
of Education (MoE), ICMR and DFSS etc. with the funding of more than Rs. 20 Crores in ongoing projects.
Completed project worth Rs. 7 Crores is also funded by various funding agencies. Research is inherent part of
IGDTUW curriculum.

d. Centre of Excellence: It is a matter of immense pride and honor for faculty and students of IGDTUW that
the university has set up following Centre of Excellences (CoE) with ultra-modern high-end facilities:

i. Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Arti icial Intelligence: IGDTUW has received a whooping grant of Rs. 8.5
Crores from DST for establishing CoE in AI.
ii. Centre of Excellence in Mechatronics: IGDTUW has received a massive funding of Rs. 8.67 Cr, given by
DKDF, Delhi Govt. for set up CoE in Mechatronics to promote research on Drones, Robotics and
Industrial
Automation.
ii. Rekhi Centre of Excellence for the Science of Happiness: IGDTUW has signed a MoU with Rekhi
Foundation for Happiness, USA to develop a platform that would help in imparting the Knowledge of
Happiness and Positive Psychology and contribute towards developing an eco-system of Happy &
Successful people.
iv. NIDHI TBI: Department of Science & Technology, GoI has sanctioned Rs. 6 Crores to accelerate & boost
Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Start-ups and Incubation related activities at the University Campus.
v. Centre of Excellence in Heritage: Collaborated with ICOMOS-India for establishment of Centre of
Excellence in Heritage.

e. Prestigious Collaborations: IGDTUW has collaborated with several industries for knowledge updation
& bridging the gap between academia and industry. Few of these collaborations worth mentioning are:
NASSCOM & CISCO for setting up of thingQbator Innovation Lab & M/s Flour Daniel for setting up Turning
Lab (both under their CSR activities), EATON Foundation for Internship placement and scholarship to
students, IBM India Pvt Ltd for academic growth and Technological advancement, Amazon AWS, Ennoble IP,
GiZ Germany, ORTISLaw, etc. IGDTUW has signed MoUs with prestigious Universities and Research Institutes
across the globe including Universiti Malasia Perlis, Malaysia, James Cook University, Australia, NAIST Japan,
Maykop State Technological University, Russia, Indian Institute of Information Technology, Pune, University
of Wollongong Australia (UOWA) and others. University has a strong collaboration with UNESCO-MGIEP for
integrating social emotional learning (SEL) into the academic curriculum.

Clubs and Societies


Students are encouraged to take part in various curricular and extra-curricular activities, competitions,
Hackathon etc. On several occasions, they represented the university and won prizes and medals at
National/International Levels and brought laurels to the university. The University has Seven Technical
Societies like ACM chapter, IEEE, OSA, WiBD, IETE etc., Fourteen Institute Level Societies and Four Clubs
focusing on various Technical, Art & Culture and Environment activities.

Placement Opportunities at IGDTUW


Campus Placement Status: In a remarkable showcase of talent and tenacity, the batch of 2024 at IGDTUW has
soared to new heights during the Placement Season, setting a shining example. Companies like Atlassian,
Microsoft, Adobe, Goldman Sachs, Google, and Uberclamouring to tap into the potential of our students and
an impressive total of more than 1200 offers have been received. This momentous achievement, including
172 pre-placement offers, 365 full-time positions, 250 coveted six-month internships, and 429 summer
internships by IGDTUW's student community. The highest placement offers of INR 56 Lakhs LPA for batch
2024. Moreover, it ills us with immense pride that IGDTUW boasts af iliations with more than 135 industry
partners, extending internships, pre-placements, and placements opportunities to our students from as
early as the second year. Industry giants like Texas Instruments, Observe. Ai, Corning, AQR Capital, Tesco etc.
has visited for the irst time for Campus Placement in IGDTUW.

The placements for Batch 2025, IGDTUW has set a new benchmark with the highest offer of INR 1.0 Crore
extended by MotorQ. Atlassian also offered of INR 64 Lakhs CTC to two students, showcasing the high
demand for IGDTUW's talented pool of future professionals. Microsoft emerged as one of the largest
recruiters, offering 17 PPOs with a lucrative CTC of INR 52.9 Lakhs per annum. Pre-placement offers further
cementing its long-standing relationship with the institute. Wells Fargo hired 49 students including
internship and full time both. Apple offered 9 students' six-month internships, while Amazon hired 24
students for six-month internships. In three months, commencement of Placement activities for Batch 2025
Academic Year, 70% placements have already been given to students of IGDTUW. The Placement activities
for session 2024-25 will go till June 2025.

Fee Waiver/Scholarships/Financial Support


Various Fee Waiver/Scholarships/Financial support schemes have been incepted in IGDTUW to motivate
the meritorious students and to support the students from economically weaker sections.
Ÿ Students get bene it from various Government Schemes like Merit Scholarship, Merit-cum-Means
scholarship, Post Matric Scholarship, Prime Minister Scholarship and others.
Ÿ Industries like Eaton, DLF, Nutanix and others also provide inancial support to the meritorious students.
Ÿ Students are facilitated and supported to apply for Scholarships at Centre, their home State, Corporates.

IGDTUW Anveshan Foundation


Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW) has promoted and incorporated a Section 8
Company under the Companies Act, 2013 to propagate Entrepreneurial Culture and Ecosystem among
Women known as 'IGDTUW Anveshan Foundation'.
Anveshan is primarily funded by the Government of NCT of Delhi. Since inception, Anveshan has been
funded with an amount of INR 2.75 Crores in four tranches. In the inancial year 2021-22, a sanction of INR
4.50 Crores has been received from the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India to

Incubator' under a scheme of DST NIDHI (National Initiative for Development and Harnessing Innovations).
In the last inancial year i.e., 2022-23, Anveshan has been selected under Start-up India Seed Fund Scheme
(SISFS) of DPIIT, GoI with highest funding of INR 5.00 Crores.

All kind of facilitations pertaining to the start-up ecosystem (in ive phases of complete incubation and
venture development) are provided. Namely, i) Pre-incubation, ii) Incubation, iii) Acceleration (Scaling up)
iv) Post-incubation and v) Virtual Incubation are provided by Anveshan Foundation.

Since inception, many activities and events have been organized by the Incubation Center which includes
Workshops, Boot-camps, Hackathons, and Industrial Visits, Inter College/University competitions and
Start-up Acceleration Programs.

Centre of Excellence in Articial Intelligence


The institution has formed a number of Centres of Excellence supported by various government agencies
in certain research ields for demand driven innovations and translational research. It is a matter of
immense pride and honour for the faculty and students of IGDTUW that the University is setting up the
following Centres of Excellence (CoEs):

IGDTUW has established CoE in Arti icial Intelligence with the funding of Rs. 8.02 Crores from the
Department of Science and Technology, GoI. CoE is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure with
computing facilities and modern AI-enabled infrastructure to enhance functional ef iciency for Teaching,
Research and Innovation. It will Encourage, Engage and Involve students as young Research Scholars, and
Faculty Members to have futuristic knowledge on AI-based Technologies, Design and Development of
intuitive technological solutions and produce good quality research in the AI-related areas there by
bene itting the most from AI in solving industrial and societal needs. The Centre of Excellence (CoE) in
Arti icial Intelligence (AI) at IGDTUW caters to the requirements of students at all levels in the domains of
AI, Machine Learning, Deep Learning for building various applications in the area of Robotics, Drones, NLP,
and others. The Centre serves as the perfect platform with the necessary Hardware and Software

Celebration of Annual Research Excellence Awards:


IGDTUW has introduced Research Excellence Awards from August 2019, mainly to support quality and
innovative research and to recognize the achievements of the faculty and student researchers. The Cash
Award are given to Researchers (faculty members and students of IGDTUW) in recognition of the
importance of the published research work and to motivate individual excellence in research in all the
disciplines of the University. The University offers four categories of awards annually namely, Outstanding
Research Awards, Premier Research Awards, Commendable Research Awards and Motivational Research
Awards.

Promote Sponsored Research:


IGDTUW has fetched more than 15 projects from Department of Science & Technology (DST), Ministry of IT
& Electronics (MietY), Department of IT and Electronics (DietY), Ministry of Education (MoE) etc. with the
funding of more than Rs. 5crores.

Build Centre of Excellence:


It is a matter of pride and honour for faculty and students of IGDTUW that the university has setup
following Centre of Excellence (CoE):
Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Arti icial Intelligence: IGDTUW has received a whooping grant of Rs.3.6
Crores in 'phase 1' and received sanction of Rs. 8.3 Cr. for ‘phase 2' from DST for the CoE.
(ii) Centre of Excellence in Mechatronics: IGDTUW has received a massive funding of Rs. 8.67 Cr, given by
Delhi Govt. to IGDTUW for setting up CoE with the objective to promote research in Drones, Robotics
and Automation. This will specially bene it girl students to increase their knowledge base in the
intersected domain of electronics and mechanics.
(iii) Government of NCT of Delhi has funded INR Two crores Fifteen Lakhs to support Anveshan
Foundation for Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Start-ups and Incubation related activities at the
University Campus. In the inancial year i.e. 2020-21, sanction of INR Four Crore Fifty Lakhs has been
received from the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India to accelerate the
activities of Anveshan Foundation. Now Anveshan is NIDHI-TBI i.e. 'Technical Business Incubator'
under a scheme of DST 'National Initiative for Development and Harnessing Innovations'.

IGDTUW has partnered with several industries for improvement in the performance of the students, knowledge
updating of faculty members, bridging gaps between academia and industry, better placements and higher
studies opportunities for students. Few of these collaborations worth mentioning are: NASSCOM & CISCO for
setting up of thingQbator Innovation Lab & M/s Flour Daniel for setting up Turning Lab (both under their CSR
activities), EATON Foundation for Internship placement and scholarship to students, IBM India Pvt Ltd for
academic growth and Technological advancement, fair conditioning for designing course curriculum of B.Arch
program, Amazon AWS and Ennoble IP etc.
Students also take part in various curricular and extra-curricular activities and competitions within the

In recent years, Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW) has placed a stronger

To facilitate this mission, the Industrial Research and Development Cell (IRD) of the University serves as a

enhancing its research capabilities. Faculty members are actively engaged in research endeavors that

IGDTUW introduced Research Excellence Awards, to support quality and innovative research and to
recognize the achievements of the faculty and student researchers. The University offers four categories of
awards annually to motivate the students, scholars and faculty members:

IGDTUW ANVESHAN FOUNDATION


INNOVATION & INCUBATION CENTRE OF IGDTUW
Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW) has promoted and incorporated a Section 8
Company under the Companies Act, 2013 to propagate Entrepreneurial Culture and Ecosystem among
Women known as 'IGDTUW Anveshan Foundation'.
Anveshan is primarily funded by the Government of NCT of Delhi. Since inception, Anveshan has been funded
with an amount of INR 2.75 Crores in four tranches. In the inancial year 2021-22, a sanction of INR 4.50 Crores
has been received from the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India to accelerate the
activities of Anveshan Foundation. Now Anveshan is a NIDHI-TBI i.e., 'Technology Business Incubator'
under a scheme of DST NIDHI (National Initiative for Development and Harnessing Innovations). In the
last inancial year i.e., 2022-23, Anveshan has been selected under Start-up India Seed Fund Scheme
(SISFS) of DPIIT, GoI with highest funding of INR 5.00 Crores.

All kind of facilitations (pertaining to the start-up ecosystem) in ive phases (of complete incubation and
venture development) i.e., i) Pre-incubation, ii) Incubation, iii) Acceleration (Scaling up), iv) Post-incubation
and v) Virtual Incubation are provided by Anveshan Foundation.

In Pre-incubation, activities related to Entrepreneurial Motivation, Ideation, PoC, PoV, Innovation,


Prototyping, MVP, Feasibility, Prior Art, Intellectual Property Right, Pitch Deck, Business Plan, Presentation
skills and investors readiness are provided by Anveshan Foundation. A total of sixty student members are
actively working with the E-Cell (Entrepreneurship Cell) of IGDTUW. Since inception, many activities and
events have been organized by the Incubation Center which includes Workshops, Boot-camps, Hackathons,
and Industrial Visits, Inter College/University competitions and Start-up Acceleration Programs.

Cisco has established a complete IoT and Robotics Lab 'thingQbator” (worth INR 60 Lakhs) for Innovation
under its CSR activity through its partner organization NASSCOM Foundation in support with Defy and Li2.
More than 300 students have been bene itted till date in ive cohorts.

GiZ India (a German Organization) had signed a Contract with Anveshan Foundation worth INR 27.5 Lakhs for
Strengthening Incubation & Start-up Ecosystem specially for Women Entrepreneurs. This initiative and
support from GiZ India have bene itted more than ive thousand participants and attendees all over the
country.

Anveshan had received a funding of INR 7.66 Lakhs as grant in the inancial year 2022-23, INR 16.00 Lakhs in
the inancial year 2023-24 and INR 8.00 Lakhs in the inancial year 2024-25 by DC-MSME, Ministry of Micro,
Small and Medium Enterprises (under its Advanced ESDP program) for conducting Women
Entrepreneurship Acceleration Programs. Anveshan is also a selected incubator by DC-MSME under its
Innovative Schemes for MSMEs.

Anveshan Foundation is conducting regular Internships, Pragmatic workshops, boot-camps and Short-term
Courses on various themes.

Total ifty startup companies are working as start-up 'Incubatees' with Anveshan Foundation. All these
companies are women led enterprises. Details of all these incubatees along with their products & services are
available on the website of Anveshan Foundation. Incubation Center provides state-of-art facilities like fully
furnished air-conditioned co-working/ lockable of ice spaces, complete ICT and free consultation support to
all of its pre-incubatees and incubatees. As mentioned earlier, there is also a provision of Seed Fund against
equity for 'Incubatees with Investment' for its incubatees.

IGDTUW Anveshan Foundation has a pool of Consultants and Mentors empanelled with it to formulate and
implement growth strategies for the incubatees as an essential part of business acceleration. Support in
Product Development, Product Re inement, Support from AI, Growth Hacking Marketing Strategies, Human
Resources, Supply Chain, Franchise Models and Bargaining with Investors is provided by IGDTUW Anveshan
Foundation.
Incubation Center has also signed ten MoUs with other colleges, institutes and universities to facilitate and
establish incubation centres in their premises and to accelerate and diversify businesses of their students and
incubatees through various channels.
After the incubation period, at the phase of post-incubation, hand holding support continues from Anveshan
Foundation in consultancy, laboratories, innovation and portfolio management. Through virtual mode,
Anveshan Foundation is helping many other start-ups all over the country.

IGDTUW has proudly signed an MOU with University of Wollongong Australia (UOWA) for 2+2 Credit
Transfer Articulation. Students enrolled in this scheme shall study 2 years each in India and Australia
respectively. Students will be awarded International Degree by University Wollongong Australia (UOWA)
and gets an International Exposure of Dynamic market of the technical horizon.

IGDTUW has a State-of-the-Art infrastructure comprising of modern well-equipped Labs, fully Wi-Fi
enabled campus, Computer Centre, fully Automated Library, Auditorium, Multi-purpose Hall, Conference
Room, Seminar Room, Hostels, Sports & Recreational Facilities, etc.
IT Services
IGDTUW Campus IT Infrastructure has high-end intelligent CISCO switches, and possesses round the clock
1 Gbps NKN leased line and a 50 Mbps MTNL leased line in a different OFC for the LAN wired & Wi-Fi
connectivity for the academic, administrative and hostel blocks of the campus, with internet facilities on all
the nodes through 10 Gbps LAN optical iber connectivity. Around 550 Computers, 85 Printers etc are
connected with Local area network which is being managed and maintained by Planning and Development
Division.
IGDTUW campus is a fully Wi-Fi campus, all areas of campus are covered with Outdoor and Indoor wireless
access points which are working 24x7 for providing seamless wireless internet connectivity to users
through Security Firewall with authentication of every user in campus.

Computer Centre
The University has a centralized computing facility housed in the 'Computer Centre', which is equipped
with high end con igured computer systems. Each computer (HP 8100 Elite SFF and 8300 Elite SFF series)
runs Intel Core i5-650 3.2 GHz processor aptly supported with a minimum 16GB RAM and hard disk space
of 320 GB. The hardware is con igured to operate in a dual boot mode providing support for the two broad
classes of operating systems namely Windows 7 Professional Edition and Linux basedUbuntu-12.04, with
long term support.

Hostel Facilities
The University has two women hostels - Krishna Hostel and Kaveri Hostel, to accommodate
approximately350 students. These two hostels are located in the University campus. The hostels provide a
safe, secure and clean environment for the students to grow, learn and mature in the society away from
their own homes. The hostel authorities always facilitate to create an environment for the students to
study, do well in their academics and focus on their career and future.
All rooms are on twin/triple sharing basis and are equipped with individual beds, chairs, built-in
cupboards and study tables. In addition to this, IGDTUW Hostels provide puri ied drinking water (RO) ,
housekeeping services, wi- i facility, newspaper/magazines, TV, Washing machines, facilities of hot water
for residents, paid laundry services etc. The residents use the campus playground for games like Basket
Ball, Badminton and skating. An indoor table-tennis court and badminton court also exist in the hostel
premises for the residents. The hostel also has its own gymnasium for residents.
Hostel accommodation is allotted to full-time bona ide students of IGDTUW satisfying the eligibility
criteria for hostel admission subject to availability. The allotment of accommodation in the hostel is made
on the basis of IGDTUW Hostel Rules and Regulations as mentioned in the hostel brochure. Students
desirous of seeking hostel admission shall apply immediately after the completion of their admission
process for IGDTUW. Students are required to produce the university admission fee receipt at the time of
submission of application for the hostel admission.
Learning Resource Centre
Learning Resource Centre (LRC) serves as the premier source of academic information for the university
community through its rich collection of textbooks, journals and reference materials. The LRC has a
focused collection of print, electronic, and audio-visual materials in the areas of science, engineering,
technology, technical communication and management to support the learning and research activities of
students and faculty. Services provided by LRC are as below:

A Book bank facility is offered to all the students who are enrolled in any of the programs offered at the
university campus.
All these journals are available online to the members of the LRC in campus LAN. The Digital Library section
has e-materials like CDs, DVDs and digital thesis of inal year students and is available through Open Source
Institution Repository Software with in the campus premises. OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) is
available at university's intranet. User may use OPAC to ascertain availability of material needed by them.
Users may log on to OPAC to verify their circulation data, to reserve documents, to suggest a new document
to be procured for the library.
Medical Facility
The health services at the university are provided through the health centre located in the campus. The
dispensary is equipped with over the counter medicines, bed to rest in, medical equipment's, physical
screening tools and irst aid facility. A team of one registered medical practitioner along with one registered
nurse is available from 09:00 am to 05:00 pm.
Bank Facility
A branch of Punjab and Sind Bank is available in the university premises with ATM facility to enable
students, faculty and staff members to receive convenient banking and money withdrawal services.

INFORMATION REGARDING RESERVATION


1) Other Backward Class (OBC-NCL) / Defence Category (CW) 5% relaxation of marks in the
minimum eligibility requirements.
2) Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) / Differently Abled Persons (PD):10% relaxation
of marks in the minimum eligibility requirements.
3) Kashmiri Migrant (KM): 10% relaxation of marks in the minimum eligibility requirements.

Additional Information Regarding Reservation


It is the sole responsibility of the applicant to prove her eligibility for claiming reservation under
any of the reserved categories / EWS sub-categories. The applicants claiming reservation under SC
/ ST / OBC /CW / PD/ EWS / KM categories/sub-categories will be required to produce the original
certi icate of the respective reserved category/sub-category issued by one of the following
authorities of competent jurisdiction:
(ii) If the reserved category / sub-category certi icate is not found to be in order, no bene it of the
reserved category / sub-category will be given and provisionally allotted seat to that applicant will
stand automatically cancelled. Such applicants may be considered under General category / sub-
category in respective state quota for subsequent rounds of counselling on submission of a request
in this regard.
(iii) In case, suf icient number of eligible applicants from the sub-categories CW and PD is not available,
the vacancies will be treated as unreserved in the respective category. (Except for Ph.D.)
(iv) In case, suf icient number of eligible applicants from category OBC-NCL is not available, the
vacancies will be treated as unreserved. (Except for Ph.D.)
(v) In case of category SC and ST, the vacant seats are interchangeable. However, after exhausting the
complete list of SC and ST applicants, the vacant seats will be treated as unreserved in the Spot
Round. Any such conversion should ensure there should not exists any rank/merit violation in the
complete process of the admission.
(vi) Under CW sub-category, the seats will be illed based on the priority, i.e. all eligible applicants of
Priority-I will be allotted seats based on their ranks until the ranks exhaust under CW sub-category.
Remaining vacant seats, if any, will be allotted to the priority-II in the similar fashion, and so on. The
reservation under CW sub-category is available only to such applicants who fall under the listed

produce a certi icate, in original, issued from an approved district authority stating the Schedule
Caste (SC) / Schedule Tribe (ST) / Other Backward Class(OBC-NCL), to which candidate belongs. A
list of approved authorities is given below:
1. District Magistrate / Additional Magistrate / Deputy Commissioner /Collector / Additional Deputy
Commissioner / Deputy Collector / 1st Class Stipendiary Magistrate / City Magistrate (not below
the rank of 1st Class Stipendiary Magistrate), Sub-Divisional Magistrate / Taluka Magistrate /
Executive Magistrate / Assistant Commissioner.
2. Revenue Of icer not below the rank of Tehsildar.
3. Sub-Divisional Of icer of the area where the candidates and/or her family normally resides.
4. Administrator/Secretary to Administration/Development Of icer (Laccadive & Minicoy Islands).

Note:
The candidate seeking admission under reserved categories has to mandatorily produce the caste/category
certi icate in her name. The certi icate in the name of either of the parents(Mother/Father) or any other family
member is not acceptable and the candidate will not be entitled even for provisional admission.
OBC-NCL and EWS candidates are required to produce a certi icate issued after March 31, 2025 from the
authorities as mentioned above. However, if the certi icate is issued prior to March 31, 2025, it must be
accompanied with an additional certi icate mentioning their status in the present inancial year. This
additional certi icate must have reference of her already issued original OBC-NCL/EWS certi icate.
Defence sub-category (CW): For admission to a seat reserved for Defence subcategory, candidate
(ii) must produce the following certi icates (as applicable) in original, at the time of counselling:
a)Entitlement card in original issued by the Record Of icer of the Unit/Regiment of Armed
Personnel of the Armed Forces in case of Armed Personnel.
b) Widows/ Wards of the of icers and men of Armed forces who died or disabled on duty (both
attributable to military service) must produce a certi icate to that effect from the following
authorities.
i. Secretary, Kendriya Sainik Board.
ii. Secretary, Rajya/ Zila Sainik Board.
iii. Of icer-in-Charge, Record Of ice.
c) Medical records in original.
d) Special Pension Order and Passbook indicating special pension.
e) Gallantry award certi icate.
f) Original ex-servicemen Identity Card/Discharge Book/ Pension Payment Order.
g) Dependency card issued by the Competent Authority in order to relate the relationship of the
candidate with the Defence personnel/gallantry award recipient.
h) Original Service Identity Card
i) A certi icate from the respective C.O. Unit in respect of serving personnel.
Note: - A statement to the effect that ‘the death/disability is attributed to military service’ is required to be
included in the certi icate for corresponding priorities. The inal priority will be subject to the scrutiny by panel
of defence experts at the time of document veri ication.
Differently Abled Persons (PD): For admission to seat reserved for Differently Abled Persons (PD)
(iii) sub-category, the candidate must produce the following certi icates in original at the time of
document veri ication for PD candidates:
a) A certi icate of physical disability issued by the Competent Authority as per the provision of the
Persons with Disabilities Act 2016 in the prescribed format as given under the Act.
b) The Candidate with benchmark disabilities shall produce the medical certi icate issued by the
Govt. Hospitals duly noti ied by the Govt. of NCT of Delhi/Other State government and further
duly veri ied by the Chief Medical Of icer of the concerned Government Hospital.
c) A certi icate duly recommended by Vocational Rehabilitation Centre for the handicapped, 9-11
Vikas Marg, Karkardooma, Delhi 110092.
Kashmiri Migrants Seats (KM): A certi icate from the Competent Authority for getting admission
against Kashmiri Migrant quota is to be produced by the candidates at the time of
counselling/admission. Such certi icate should be issued by the concerned Deputy Commissioner

Eligibility Criteria
Bachelor’s Degree of a recognized University in any discipline with atleast 60% marks in aggregate
and must also have passed Mathematics subject (core or elective or functional) at 10+2 level of the
CBSE or any other examination recognized or equivalent thereto.

BCA/BITS/BIS degree of a recognized University of atleast three year duration or any quali ication

IGDTUW offers admission to female candidates in the Ph.D. program twice in an academic year (July
and December) commencing every year. Presently Ph.D. Program is run in Computer Science
Engineering, Information Technology, Arti icial Intelligence & Data Sciences (AI & DS), Electronics
and Communication Engineering, Mechanical and Automation Engineering, Architecture and
Planning, Management and disciplines of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English in Applied
Sciences Departments. Research is also carried out in various interdisciplinary ields like AI, ML,
Neural Networks, Biomedical applications Nanotechnology and Environmental Sciences, etc.
Ph.D. Programs offered by University are as follows:-
A. Regular Ph.D. Program after PG Degree
B. Direct Ph.D. Program (Full Time) after 4-years Bachelor's degree/1st- year Master's
Degree
To enable and nurture relevant research endeavors the University has bagged research grants from
various external agencies. The researchers in the University, both Faculty and students are involved

A. Guidelines for Admission to Regular Ph.D. Program after PG Degree


Eligibility Criteria
The minimum entry quali ications for Full-Time/Part-Time Research Scholars in various areas is as
follows:
1) For Engineering: M.E./M.Tech. Degree or equivalent from a recognized University/Institution in
the relevant discipline with minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or its equivalent CGPA in the point
scale and B.E./B. Tech. or equivalent with minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA.
2) For Sciences: Masters Degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized University/Institution
with 60% marks in aggregate or its equivalent CGPA in the point scale and undergraduate degree in
the relevant discipline with 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA.
3) For Computer Applications: MCA from a recognised University / Institutions with minium of 60%
marks in aggregate or its equivalent CGPA in the point scale and Graduation degree with Science and
Mathematics with minium of 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA.
4) For Architecture and Planning: Master’s degree from a recognized institution or university in
various specialization of Architecture or Planning or allied subject with 55% marks (50% for
reserved categories) or equivalent grade. OR bachelor’s degree of a recognized institution or
university in Architecture or Planning with 75% marks (70% for reserved categories) or equivalent
grade, along with the professional/research experience for a minimum period of ive years after
obtaining the bachelor’s degree.
5) For Department of Management: Master’s degree in Management/ Engineering/ Technology/
Commerce/Economics and other behavioral Sciences and allied relevant disciplines, or equivalent,
with a minimum 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA. PG Diploma courses considered
equivalent to Master degree recognized by AICTE/UGC only shall also be considered in determining the

The applicant must submit an NOC from her employer, at the time of interview/provisional registration.

(iii) Minimum Quali ications for Admission to Part-time and Sponsored (full-time) Ph.D.
Programme in Management:
The following eligibility conditions apply for Part-time and sponsored full-time programmes:
1. Only employees of Public Sector Undertakings or Government Departments or Research and
Development Organizations or Private Industries (approved by University) are eligible for admission
to these programmes.
2. The minimum full-time experience required after obtaining the qualifying degree and as on date of
registration, is 2 Years.
3. Sponsored (full-time) candidates seeking admission to a Ph.D. programme on the basis of study
leave, must submit a “Sponsorship Certi icate” on a proper letterhead from the appropriate authority
in the organization clearly stating the following:
▪ For the period of his/her studies in the programme, the candidate would be treated as on duty
with usual salary and allowances; and
▪ That he/she will be fully relieved and granted study leave for a minimum period of 3 years (2
years for M.Tech. and equivalent degree holders).

The Selection in Ph.D Program is based on the score obtained in RAT/GATE/NET or personal

B. Guidelines for Admission to Direct Ph.D. Program (Full Time) after 4-years
Bachelor's degree/1st year Master's Degree
I. Admission Eligibility:
1. The candidates who have completed their inal year (eighth semester) of their Bachelor's degree
program (or result awaited) and have a minimum CGPA of 7.5/10 or equivalent percentage shall be
eligible to apply for direct Ph.D. admission.
2. For admission after 1st year/2-semester Master's degree program (after a 4-year
undergraduate degree) candidate must have at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent
grade 'B' in the UGC 10- point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system
is followed) in Master's program in relevant discipline. Also, the candidate should have secured at
least 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA in Bachelor's Degree.

II. Shortlisting and Selection Procedure


(i) Admission to the Direct Ph.D. Program will be done on the basis of Research Aptitude Test (RAT)
Examination or an interview or both.
(ii) Candidates with valid GATE score or other quali ied equivalent National Exam will be exempted
from RAT.
(iii) The RAT Examination shall be cleared with qualifying marks as 50%. A relaxation of 5% marks
(from 50% to 45%) shall be allowed for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/Differently abled category in the
RAT Exam.
(iv)The interview for selection of the candidates shall be conducted Department-wise by Selection
Committees. Weightage shall be given to the following: -
· Prior background in research with skill certi ication courses, assistantships done, industry
experience, technical skills and research projects undertaken in the relevant branch done at
Bachelor’s/Master’s Program (as applicable).
· Exceptional interest in research with prior publications (SCI/SCIE/SSCI/Scopus indexed),
conference presentations, or other academic/administrative work.
· Candidates having memberships of national/international Technical Societies (IEEE, CSI, ASME,
ACM etc.).
· Letter(s) of Recommendation from Faculty advisors/Mentors during Bachelor's/ Master's
Program (as applicable)would be desirable.
III. Reservation Policy:
Reservation of seats for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy
Layer), EWS and Differently Abled candidates will be as per government rules.
IV. Financial Assistance
The Research Scholars shall be eligible for a stipend of Rs. 10,000/- per month after completion of
course work and gaining the credits as per point no. V. However, GATE quali ied candidates would
be eligible for the stipend as per the MHRD guidelines.
V. Selection of JRF: The University may provide inancial assistance to few deserving Research
Scholars and appoint them as Junior Research Fellow (JRF). Scholar shall be eligible for the
fellowship after completion of course work (including the credits gained as per point no. V) with
CGPA ≥ 7.5, attendance ≥ 75% and successful approval of the Research Plan in the DRC.
VI. Coursework Credits requirement:
· Students who will register for Ph.D. directly after a four-year Bachelor's Program will be pursuing
M.Tech. 1st Year courses in the relevant branch at IGDTUW. The 46 credits earned will be equivalent
to the Ph.D. Course work.
· Students who will register for Ph.D. directly after 1st year Master's degree program will have to
undertake courses (compulsory/guide directed as required related to their broad research area) to
gain total 46 credits as per Table-II (point IX), to ful ill the academic requirements for obtaining
M.Tech. degree.
VII. Award of M.Tech. degree:
A student admitted in Ph.D. program after a 4-years Bachelor's degree/1st year Master's Degree
can obtain an M.Tech. degree “in-between” as per NEP 2020, provided she completes the academic
requirements for the same as given in Section VIII below. However, if the student who has taken
admission directly after B.Tech., wishes to exit before minimum duration for award of M.Tech.
degree, can do so after completion of course work credit requirement as per point no. V to obtain PG
Diploma degree.

VIII. Availing Exit Option in Direct Ph.D.


A Ph.D. student registered for the Direct Ph.D. Program may be allowed to exit from Direct Ph.D.
Program on the recommendation of DRC and with the approval of the Competent Authority. Since
this is a change of program to a lower degree, the student should satisfy the eligibility criteria of
minimum credits earned for availing exit options and obtaining M.Tech./PG Diploma degrees given
in Section IX below. However, the option of obtaining PG Diploma degree is applicable only when
the student is exiting from the PhD program without completing the requirements to obtain an
M.Tech degree. If the Ph.D. student after obtaining M.Tech. wishes to leave the University without
completing her Ph.D., she will be considered as having changed her program from Ph.D. to M.Tech.
and will have to compensate by paying the difference between the Ph.D. and M.Tech fee to the
University.

IGDTUW-Junior Research Fellow (IGDTUW-JRF)


University may provide inancial assistance as Junior Research Fellow (JRF) / Senior Research
Fellow (SRF) to few Full Time Research Scholars registered in the Ph.D. Programme. The JRFs/SRFs
shall be distributed on the basis of need across all departments. Program is being offered in the
following disciplines subject to the availability of vacancy in the relevant research ield:
Fellowship Eligibility and Selection Procedure for Junior Research Fellow (JRF):
i. A student who satis ies the Minimum Eligibility requirement as per the Ph.D. Regulation R 1.2.3 of
IGDTUW and has been duly recommended by the Selection Committee to be appointed as Junior
Research Fellow (JRF). Student shall be eligible for the fellowship after completion of course work
with CGPA ≥ 8.00 and successful approval of Research Plan in the DRC.
ii. A student who is a continuing Full-Time Research Scholar at IGDTUW and ful ills the Minimum
Eligibility requirement of JRF at a later stage (vacancy created due to thesis submission of existing
JRF/withdrawal cases etc.) is eligible for award of JRF provided DRC inds her Research Progress
satisfactory and recommends her case for award of JRF.
iii. Student shall be evaluated for total 100 Marks out of which 50 Marks shall be based on points
claimed by the student based on her performance, and further scrutinized by DRC (based on
supporting documents) as per IGDTUW guidelines and the rest 50 marks shall be awarded during
the interview.

Admission Procedure
Admission to the Ph.D. Program will be common to the two categories (Full time and Part Time) of
applicants.
1) Admission shall be made on the basis of a written Test viz. RAT followed by an interview.
2) The RAT Examination shall be qualifying only with qualifying marks as 50%. A relaxation of 5%
marks (from 50% to 45%) shall be allowed for SC/ST/OBC/Differently abled (PD) category to
qualify the RAT Exam.
3) The syllabus of the RAT examination shall consist of 50% of Research Methodology and 50%
subject speci ic. (Please refer www.igdtuw.ac.in )
4) The application fee of Rs. 1000/- deposited by the applicants is Non-Refundable.
5) The RAT examination shall be waived off for the following applicants subject to the ful ilment of
eligibility quali ications, and such applicants shall be allowed to appear in the interview directly:

a. Full-Time female teaching staff (Faculty) of IGDTUW.


b. Sponsored applicants from organizations having MOU with the University.
c. Applicants who have quali ied UGC-CSIR-JRF/NET Or have quali ied GATE with a score above
the minimum cut-off and successfully completed requisite Master's degree.
d. Foreign students who apply through Ministry of Human Resource Development or foreign.
6) The exempted category applicants as per point (5), in a subject will not be required to appear for the
RAT exam.

10) The applicants shortlisted for interview are required to discuss their research interest/ area during
the interview. The interview shall also consider the following aspects viz. whether:
a. The person should possess the competency for the proposed research.
b. The research work can be suitably undertaken at the University.
c. The proposed area of research can contribute to new/ additional knowledge.

Financial Assistance
1) A stipend of Rs 10,000/- per month will be given to all Full-time Research Scholars for a maximum
period of ive years or till completion of their Ph.D., whichever is less. The Research Scholars would
also assist in Academic/Administrative works in their respective Departments apart from their
Research work.

2) The University may provide inancial assistance to few Full-Time Research Scholars with good
teaching skills and appoint them as Junior Research Fellow (JRF) / Senior Research Fellow (SRF) as
per UGC norms.
· These fellowships shall be distributed on the basis of need across all departments by Dean (R&C) in
consultation with the Vice Chancellor.
· The Terms and Conditions of the fellowship may be amended from time to time.
· All provisions of the prevailing Ph.D. Ordinance of the University shall be applicable on the JRF/SRF
and allocated Supervisor(s).

AGE CRITERIA : For admission to Ph.D. program there is no minimum & maximum age criteria.
COUNSELLING SCHEDULE: Detailed schedule of irst counselling/admissions indicating the
number of quali ied applicants for different programs, to be called for counselling will be noti ied on
the website (www.igdtuw.ac.in ).
If an applicant does not attend the counselling she will have no claim on the seat already allotted to
the applicant. The waitlist will be executed supervisor wise, only if the selected candidate of the
respective supervisor does not report the university on day of counselling.
Applicants are advised to check the website ( www.igdtuw.ac.in ) regularly for updates. No separate
communication will be sent.
ANTI RAGGING POLICY : The University adopts Zero Tolerance policy on ragging. Ragging is
completely banned on the campus. Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited within the premises of
the University campus and hostel. The University shall severely punish the student found indulged
in ragging.
WITHDRAWAL OF ADMISSION : The students admitted in Ph.D. program may apply for
withdrawal of admission (if she desires) and her case for refund of fee will be handled as per UGC
noti ication.
