Xmas Crochet

Christmas Tree

What you need: Abbreviations:


CH- Chain
• 6mm Hook
• Chunky yarn TR- Treble/Triple Crotchet
• Tapestry Needle
2TRTOG- Decrease stitch
• Toilet Roll & tape
• Scissors SL ST- Slip Stitch
• Small pom poms
CS- Crocodile Stitch
• Glue or glue gun

How to make:
• Form a slip knot
• Chain 4, Sl St into 1st chain to create loop
• Chain 2 (this creates 1st Treble)
• ROUND 1- Tr into the centre of your Circle/loop for 11 TR, Sl St into the top of the 1st CH2
chain (12)
• ROUND 2- CH2, 1TR into same stitch, 1TR, 2TR into next chain, repeat to end, SL ST into top
of 1st CH2 chain (16)
• ROUND 3A- CH2, 1TR into base of same stitch, CH1, Skip 2, TR into 3rd chain, CH1, skip 2,
2TR, CH1, skip 2, 2TR- Repeat to end, SL ST into top chain of 1st TR
• ROUND 3B- Start of crocodile stitch
• 5TR down side of the CH2/TR Post, turn to start TR down the next TR Post, 5TR
• SL ST into the top chain of the single TR Post to hold the crocodile stitch down
• Repeat process to end, SL ST

• ROUND 4A- CH2, TR into same stitch, skip 2, 1TR, skip 2, 2TR into same stitch, repeat to end
• ROUND 4B- Follow Round 3B to create CS (crocodile stitch)
• ROUND 5A & 5B- Follow Round 3A & 3B
• ROUND 6A & 6B- Follow Round 3A & 3B
• ROUND 7- TR into top of chains for 12 (12)
• ROUND 8- TR2TOG for 6 stitches (6)
• ROUND 9- TR2TOG for 3 (3)
• To finish, chain 15 then fasten back to the peak of the tree with a SL ST to create hanging
loop
• Add pom pom decorations with glue gun
• Tie in and enclose loose yarn end
