Lesson 7 Jesus is crucified

1. Jesus was taken to the High Priest and the religious leaders said that Jesus
should be put to death.
2. Peter was in the courtyard when one of the High Priest's servants came by. She
recognized that Peter was usually with Jesus but Peter denied. Just then a
rooster crowed.
3. The servant told someone nearby. They said, "He is one of them." Peter denied
the second time.
4. A while later they accused Peter again but he denied the third time. Then a
rooster crowed the second time.
5. Peter remembered what Jesus had said before and started to cry.
6. The religious leaders sent Jesus to Pilate, the Roman governor.
7. Pilate was afraid of them so he let them crucify Jesus.
8. The soldiers put a purple robe on Jesus. They made a crown out of thorny
branches and put it on Jesus' head.
9. They then took Jesus to a place called Golgotha and nailed Him to a cross.
10. Pilate put a sign on the cross that said, "Jesus, King of the Jews”.
11. Before Jesus died, He cried, "It is finished.”
12. .At that time, the sky grew dark, the temple curtain was torn apart and the earth
shook.
13. Application: Thanks God for defeating the devil and sin by sending us His only
Son.

Memory Verse: It is not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his
Son to be the means by which our sins are forgiven. (1 John 4:10)
Lesson 8 Jesus is risen

1. It was evening when Joseph, a respected member of the Council, arrived.


2. He went to Pilate and asked him for the body of Jesus.
3. He wrapped Jesus' body in linen sheet and placed it in a tomb which had been
dug out of solid rock.
4. Then he rolled a large stone across the entrance of the tomb.
5. The next day, some soldiers were sent to guard the tomb and a seal was put on
the stone.
6. After the Sabbath was over, some women went to Jesus' tomb.
7. When they got there, they found that the large stone had already been rolled
away.
8. They entered the cave and saw a young man sitting at the right, wearing a white
robe.
9. He told the women that Jesus was raised from death.
10. The women quickly ran to tell the disciples.
11. Jesus appeared to His disciples and some other people.
12. After forty days, Jesus was taken up to heaven and sat at the right side of God.
13. Application: We should thank God for the salvation.

Memory Verse: He is not here - he has been raised! (Mark 16:6)


Lesson 9 The Holy Spirit and the Early Church

1. Before Jesus ascended into heaven, He told the disciples to stay in Jerusalem. He
was going to send the Holy Spirit to help them.
2. One day the disciples and some other Christians gathered in a house. Suddenly,
they felt a strong wind blow through the house.
3. Then, they saw a fire come down from heaven. The fire was divided into different
sections, and each part touched one of them. This was the Holy Spirit that Jesus
had promised to send.
4. As the fire touched them, they started to speak in languages of different
countries.
5. Jesus wanted them to know that the good news about Jesus should be available
to everyone in the world.
6. Jesus sent the apostles and the other Christians out to preach to all people.
7. The day that Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to His followers is called the Day of
Pentecost.
8. 8. The apostles did a lot of miracles.
9. All the believers stayed together and shared their belongings with one another.
They would sell their property and possessions, and distribute the money among
all, according to what each one needed.
10. They had their meals together in their homes, praising God, and enjoying the
good will of all the people.
11. Every day, God added to their group those who were being saved.
12. Application: We should take time to serve God.

Memory Verse: Go throughout the whole world and preach the .gospel to all people.
