📖 Story: “A Brother Divided”
Once upon a time, in the year 1863, two brothers lived in the United States. Their names
were Jack and Will. Jack lived in the North and worked on a small farm. Will lived in
the South and helped take care of animals.
One day, a big war started. It was called the Civil War. The North and the South were
fighting. The North wanted to end slavery. The South wanted to keep it.
Jack joined the Union Army (the North), and Will joined the Confederate Army (the
South). They were both scared but believed they were doing the right thing.
After many battles, one day Jack and Will saw each other on the battlefield. They didn’t
fight. Instead, they ran to each other and hugged.
When the war ended, slavery was over, and the country was one again. Jack and Will
were happy that the fighting was done. They returned home and promised never to let
anything divide them again.
