ONE CENTRAL PARK IS AN AWARD-WINNING MIXED- LAND WHICH WAS THEN CONVERTED GENERATE RENEWABLE
USE RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT INTO A VIBRANT, SUSTAINABLE URBAN HUB. ENERGY.
IN SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA. DESIGNED BY FRENCH INTEGRATION WITH SURROUNDINGS: ADAPTIVE BUILDING DESIGN:
ARCHITECT JEAN NOUVEL IN COLLABORATION WITH INTEGRATION WITH EXISTING • THE INNOVATIVE
BOTANIST PATRICK BLANC, THIS PROJECT IS A PRIME INFRASTRUCTURE ALLOWS FOR BETTER “HELIOSTAT” MIRRORS
EXAMPLE OF SUSTAINABLE ARCHITECTURE. IT ACCESSIBILITY AND REDIRECT SUNLIGHT INTO
INTEGRATES NATURAL SYSTEMS, INNOVATIVE MINIMIZES URBAN SPRAWL. AREAS THAT WOULD

SUSTAINABLE CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS:
NATURAL VENTILATION AND DAYLIGHTING:
RECYCLED MATERIALS AND SUSTAINABLY SOURCED
THE BUILDING DESIGN PRIORITIZES NATURAL LIGHT AND
WOOD WERE USED IN CONSTRUCTION. LOW- CARBON
AIRFLOW, ENHANCING OCCUPANT COMFORT AND
CONCRETE REDUCES THE OVERALL EMBODIED ENERGY.
REDUCING ENERGY USAGE FOR LIGHTING AND AIR
GREEN FAÇADES AND LIVING WALLS:
CONDITIONING.
THE DEVELOPMENT FEATURES VERTICAL GARDENS
IMPROVED AIR QUALITY:
DESIGNED BY PATRICK BLANC, COVERING OVER 50% OF
THE EXTENSIVE GREENERY HELPS FILTER POLLUTANTS
THE FAÇADE. THESE GREEN WALLS PROVIDE
AND IMPROVE INDOOR AIR QUALITY.
INSULATION, IMPROVE AIR QUALITY, AND PROMOTE
THERMAL COMFORT:
BIODIVERSITY.
ADVANCED INSULATION, SHADING DEVICES, AND
WASTE MANAGEMENT: NATURAL COOLING SYSTEMS MAINTAIN CONSISTENT
CONSTRUCTION WASTE WAS MINIMIZED, AND RESOURCES WERE RECYCLED OR REUSED WHERE INDOOR TEMPERATURES.

HELIOSTAT TECHNOLOGY:
THE PROJECT FEATURES A HELIOSTAT SYSTEM WITH MOTORIZED MIRRORS PLACED ON THE ROOF TO ONE CENTRAL PARK IN SYDNEY DEMONSTRATES HOW
REFLECT SUNLIGHT INTO SHADED SPACES. THIS INNOVATION ENHANCES NATURAL LIGHT ARCHITECTURE CAN SUCCESSFULLY INTEGRATE
PENETRATION. SUSTAINABILITY, INNOVATION, AND AESTHETIC APPEAL. BY
VERTICAL GARDENS: ADDRESSING KEY ASPECTS SUCH AS WATER
ONE OF THE WORLD’S TALLEST GREEN WALLS CONSERVATION, ENERGY EFFICIENCY, AND INDOOR
INTEGRATES OVER 38,000 PLANTS ACROSS THE ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY, THE PROJECT SETS A
BUILDING’S FAÇADE. BENCHMARK FOR SUSTAINABLE URBAN DEVELOPMENT
COMMUNITY-FOCUSED DESIGN: WORLDWIDE. THE INTEGRATION OF GREEN
