How to open word 2010
• Open start menu

How to create a new
folder:

1- Go to my computer.

2- Select partition “D”.

3- Right mouse click and choose new folder.

Save As
Save as allows you to choose a name and location for your document. It's useful if you've first created a
document or if you want to save a different version of a document while keeping the original.

Click the File tab.

Select Save As.

Save As

The Save As dialogue box will appear. Select the location where you wish to save the
document.

Format tab:- To apply a picture: -
1. Select the picture. The Format tab will appear.style:

When we insert picture, always format tab appears.

To crop an image:

1. Select an image. The Format tab will appear.


2. Select the Format tab.
3. Click the Crop command. Black cropping handles appear.

4. Click and drag a handle to crop an image.


5. Click the Crop command to deselect the crop tool.

Corner handles will allow you to simultaneously crop the image horizontally and vertically.

To crop an image to a shape:

1. Select the image. The Format tab will appear.


2. Select the Format tab.
3. Click the Crop drop-down arrow (below the Crop command). A drop-down menu will appear.

4. Select a shape from the drop-down menu.


5. The image will take the shape you have selected.

You may want to crop the image to the desired size before cropping it to a shape.

To add a border to a picture:-

1. Select the picture.


2. Select the Format tab.
3. Click the Picture Border command. A drop-down menu will appear.

4. From the drop-down menu, you can select a color, weight (thickness), and whether the line is dashed.

How to print
Click the File tab to go to backstage view.

Printer types
You may need to select the printer that is used if your computer is connected to multiple
printers.

Collated/Uncollected

If you're printing multiple copies, you can choose whether you want the copies collated or
uncollected.

The Print Button

When you're satisfied with your printing settings and are ready to print your document, click
the Print button.

Page

Click the arrows to view a different page in the Print Preview area.

Zoom

You can drag the slider to zoom the Print Preview. If you zoom out, you can view multiple
pages at the same time.

Print Preview

This allows you to see how your document will look when printed.

Pages per Sheet

Word allows you to print more than one page on a single sheet, and you can set the number
of pages per sheet here.

Margins

You can adjust the margins here. This is useful if parts of your document are being cut off by
the printer.

Choose the paper size that you want your printer to use.

Here you can choose Portrait or Landscape orientation.
