Instructions
Message for Applicants Coming to the U.S. Embassy for
an Interview:
The U.S. Embassy address is located at 5 Tawif Diab Street,
Garden City, Cairo. Processing time of a via may take up to
three (3) weeks. Your passport will not be returned to you
before the visa is processed.
The DS-160 confirmation page for each visa applicant must
present at the U.S. Embassy Cairo on the day of your
interview. It MUST match the DS-160 number on your
www.ustraveIdocs.com profile to book the appointment. This
is to comply with worldwide standards. Failure to present a
matching DS-160 confirmation page and DS-160 number on
the www.ustraveIdocs.com profile will result in the cancellation
of the interview appointment and you will be asked to
reschedule. Visa applicants are responsible for verifying that
the information provided on the www.ustraveIdocs.com
website is accurate.
Photograph:
Please ensure your passport photo conforms to the following
requirements. We will be unable to process your case without
a photo that meets these standards:
• Hairline showing
• Taken within the last 6 months
• Colored photo (no black & white)
• White/light background
• Full face towards the camera
• No colored eye contacts
• 5 cm x 5 cm
• No eyeglasses
All visitors must be screened prior to entering the Embassy
and are subject to inspection via a walk-through metal
detector and a hand-held metal detector. In addition, please
note the following:
• Cell phones are prohibited beyond the security check
entrance. There are no exceptions.
• Laptops, recording equipment, computers, cameras,
electronics, backpacks, large bags, luggage, large
purses, oversized strollers and other cumbersome items
are prohibited and cannot be deposited at the security
entrance.
There are no exceptions, please leave these items at home.

application (DS-160) that has been fully completed. Your
visa is likely to be refused if your visa application is
missing information, including the names/date of birth of
your spouse and/or parents.
If you do use a visa application preparation service, you must
remember that you are responsible for your visa application
and your visa may be refused if information is missing or
inaccurate. If someone assists you to complete the online
visa application, that person must be indicated as a third-party
preparer and include their name and contact information.
Please note that regulations apply to all visitors. If you fail to
follow these requirements you may face delays or the
cancelation of your visit. Please ensure this letter is with you
to enter the U.S. Embassy on the day of your appointment.
