Origami Ice Cream
You will need:
 • Squares of thin paper or origami paper.
We found this craft worked best when the
paper had two sides with different colours.
 • Felt tip pens or colourful pencils
                               1) Get your square of thin paper ready.
                               2) Position your paper so that one of the corners is facing
you. If using paper with two different colours, have the
lighter ice cream colour facing you.
                               3) Bring two of the corners together to fold the paper in
half. The ice cream colour should be inside the fold.
                               4) Release the fold.

         5) Now, bring one of the corners that is not on this fold line
to the centre so it meets at a right angle and one of the
edges of the triangle formed lines up with the centre fold
         line.
         6) Repeat for the other corner which is not along the fold
line. You should have created a kite shape.
         7) Next take one of the corners at the centre fold line and
fold it back on itself to create a small right-angled triangle.
         8) Repeat for the other corner at the centre fold line.
         9) Next, turn the whole piece of paper over.
         10) Fold the two over-hanging triangles in and around the
shape to keep them in place. You will return to a kite shape.

         11) Next, take one of the corners of the kite which is not on
the centre line and bring it to the centre fold line. One of
the edges of the triangle formed should run along the centre
         fold line.
         12) Repeat for the other corner of the kite shape.
         13) Now turn the paper back over. Place it like this.
         14) Take the top of the shape and fold it behind. Create a
horizontal fold line across the ice cream. The section left
will be your ice cream’s face, so make it as large as you
         would like.
         15) Then turn the whole piece of paper over.
         16) Fold the point of the ice cream back on itself, leaving a
thin strip folded at the back of the paper.

                                                   17) Repeat steps 14-16 once more to create another whip on
the top of your ice cream.
                                                   18) You have finished your paper folds. It is now time to
                                                   decorate.
                                                   19) Add a face and extra details to your ice cream to make
                                                   it super sweet.
                                                   20) Try out different sizes and colours of paper to create a
whole family of cute paper ice creams.
