A great politician, loved by many people belonging to Myanmar. Aung San Suu Kyi is a
radiant symbol of non-violent approach to a democratic government.

Early Life

She was born on 19 June, 1945 in Yangon, Myanmar.


Born to Aung San and Khi Kyi. Aung San was a great,
respected ideal of Myanmar because of his contribution
to making the country independent. Khi Kyi was a
political diplomat.

Awards

She has been awarded with various prizes which are:

 Nobel Peace Prize (1991)


 Jawaharlal Nehru Peace Prize (1992)
 Sakharov Prize (1990)
 Rafto Prize (1990)

Conclusion

She was greatly inspired by Gandhi and Buddhism


which made her use the non-violent technique. Her
personality is so similar to her father and mother which
almost makes it obvious for her to get such a field.
Most importantly she is an extraordinary example of
political courage in Asia.
