Student: Hello! I’m excited but also a little nervous.
学生：你好！我很兴奋，但也有点紧张。
Xuéshēng: Nǐ hǎo! Wǒ hěn xīngfèn, dàn yě yǒudiǎn jǐnzhāng.
Driving Instructor: Don’t worry. We’ll take everything step by step. First, get into the car and sit
in the driver’s seat.
驾校教练：别担心。我们一步一步来。首先，上车，坐到驾驶座上。
Jiàxiào jiàoliàn: Bié dānxīn. Wǒmen yībù yībù lái. Shǒuxiān, shàng chē, zuò dào jiàshǐ zuò
shàng.
Driving Instructor: Adjust your seat so that you can reach the pedals comfortably.
驾校教练：调整你的座椅，让你可以舒服地踩到踏板。
Jiàxiào jiàoliàn: Tiáozhěng nǐ de zuòyǐ, ràng nǐ kěyǐ shūfú de cǎi dào tàbǎn.
Driving Instructor: Now adjust the rearview mirror and side mirrors.
驾校教练：现在调整后视镜和两边的侧视镜。
Jiàxiào jiàoliàn: Xiànzài tiáozhěng hòushìjìng hé liǎngbiān de cèshìjìng.
Driving Instructor: The rearview mirror should show the back window clearly.
驾校教练：后视镜应该清楚地看到后窗。
Jiàxiào jiàoliàn: Hòushìjìng yīnggāi qīngchǔ de kàn dào hòuchuāng.
Driving Instructor: The side mirrors should show a small part of your car and a large part of the
road.

Driving Instructor: Now, let me explain the controls. This is the clutch pedal, brake pedal, and
accelerator.

Driving Instructor: Your left foot is for the clutch only. Right foot is for brake and accelerator.
驾校教练：左脚只用来踩离合器，右脚负责刹车和油门。
Jiàxiào jiàoliàn: Zuǒ jiǎo zhǐ yòng lái cǎi líhéqì, yòu jiǎo fùzé shāchē hé yóumén.
Driving Instructor: Put the gear lever in neutral.
驾校教练：把变速杆放在空挡。
Jiàxiào jiàoliàn: Bǎ biànsù gǎn fàng zài kōng dǎng.
Driving Instructor: Start the car by turning the key or pressing the start button.
驾校教练：通过转钥匙或按启动按钮来发动汽车。
Jiàxiào jiàoliàn: Tōngguò zhuǎn yàoshi huò àn qǐdòng ànniǔ lái fādòng qìchē.
Driving Instructor: Press the clutch pedal fully.

Jiàxiào jiàoliàn: Wánquán cǎi xià líhéqì tàbǎn.
Driving Instructor: Now, shift to first gear.
驾校教练：现在挂一挡。
Jiàxiào jiàoliàn: Xiànzài guà yī dǎng.
Driving Instructor: Slowly lift the clutch while gently pressing the accelerator.
驾校教练：慢慢松开离合器，同时轻轻踩油门。
Jiàxiào jiàoliàn: Màn man sōng kāi líhéqì, tóngshí qīng qīng cǎi yóumén.
Driving Instructor: The car will start moving forward. Keep both hands on the wheel at 9 and 3
o'clock.
驾校教练：车会开始向前移动。双手放在方向盘的九点和三点位置。
Jiàxiào jiàoliàn: Chē huì kāishǐ xiàng qián yídòng. Shuāngshǒu fàng zài fāngxiàngpán de jiǔ diǎn
hé sān diǎn wèizhì.
Driving Instructor: Look ahead and keep straight. Use the rearview mirror every few seconds.
驾校教练：看前方，保持直行。每隔几秒看一次后视镜。
Jiàxiào jiàoliàn: Kàn qiánfāng, bǎochí zhí xíng. Měi gé jǐ miǎo kàn yīcì hòushìjìng.
Driving Instructor: To stop, press the clutch fully and then gently press the brake.
驾校教练：停车时，先完全踩下离合器，然后轻踩刹车。
Jiàxiào jiàoliàn: Tíngchē shí, xiān wánquán cǎi xià líhéqì, ránhòu qīng cǎi shāchē.
Driving Instructor: Now let’s practice turning. Signal first.
驾校教练：现在我们练习转弯。先打转向灯。
Jiàxiào jiàoliàn: Xiànzài wǒmen liànxí zhuǎnwān. Xiān dǎ zhuǎnxiàng dēng.
Driving Instructor: Turn the wheel smoothly, not too fast.
驾校教练：平稳地转方向盘，不要太快。
Jiàxiào jiàoliàn: Píngwěn de zhuǎn fāngxiàngpán, bùyào tài kuài.
Driving Instructor: After turning, straighten the wheel.
驾校教练：转完后把方向盘回正。
Jiàxiào jiàoliàn: Zhuǎn wán hòu bǎ fāngxiàngpán huí zhèng.
Driving Instructor: Let’s try a U-turn. Make sure the road is clear.
驾校教练：我们来试试掉头。确保路上没有车。
Jiàxiào jiàoliàn: Wǒmen lái shì shì diàotóu. Quèbǎo lùshàng méiyǒu chē.
Driving Instructor: Turn the wheel all the way, then control speed.
驾校教练：方向盘打到底，然后控制速度。
Jiàxiào jiàoliàn: Fāngxiàngpán dǎ dào dǐ, ránhòu kòngzhì sùdù.
Driving Instructor: When changing lanes, check mirrors and blind spot.
驾校教练：变道时，要看镜子和盲区。
Jiàxiào jiàoliàn: Biàndào shí, yào kàn jìngzi hé mángqū.
Driving Instructor: Signal, then gently steer to the next lane.
驾校教练：打灯，然后轻轻转到下一条车道。
Jiàxiào jiàoliàn: Dǎ dēng, ránhòu qīngqīng zhuǎn dào xià yītiáo chēdào.
Driving Instructor: Let’s practice parking. We’ll start with parallel parking.

Jiàxiào jiàoliàn: Wǒmen lái liànxí tíngchē. Xiān liànxí píngxíng tíngchē.
Driving Instructor: Align your car with the one in front, reverse slowly, turn the wheel into the
space.
驾校教练：让你的车对齐前面的车，慢慢倒车，把方向盘转进车位。
Jiàxiào jiàoliàn: Ràng nǐ de chē duìqí qiánmiàn de chē, màn man dàochē, bǎ fāngxiàngpán zhuǎn
jìn chēwèi.
Driving Instructor: Look at mirrors and out the rear window.
驾校教练：看镜子和后窗。
Jiàxiào jiàoliàn: Kàn jìngzi hé hòuchuāng.
Driving Instructor: For uphill driving, shift to a lower gear.
驾校教练：上坡时挂低挡。
Jiàxiào jiàoliàn: Shàngpō shí guà dī dǎng.
Driving Instructor: If you stop on a hill, use the handbrake.
驾校教练：如果在坡上停车，要用手刹。
Jiàxiào jiàoliàn: Rúguǒ zài pō shàng tíngchē, yào yòng shǒushā.
Driving Instructor: To start again, press clutch, shift gear, release handbrake as you press the
accelerator.
驾校教练：要重新起步，踩离合器，挂挡，一边松手刹一边踩油门。
Jiàxiào jiàoliàn: Yào chóngxīn qǐbù, cǎi líhéqì, guà dǎng, yībiān sōng shǒushā yībiān cǎi
yóumén.
Driving Instructor: Finally, this switch controls your headlights.
驾校教练：最后，这个开关控制前灯。
Jiàxiào jiàoliàn: Zuìhòu, zhège kāiguān kòngzhì qiándēng.
Driving Instructor: This one is for windshield wipers.
驾校教练：这个是雨刷器。 Jiàxiào jiàoliàn: Zhège shì yǔshuāqì.
Driving Instructor: That’s a lot for today! Great job.
