2011-15 CRUZE
For Vehicles equipped with OnStar® (UE1) with Back-Up Battery: Back-Up Battery is a redundant power
supply to allow limited OnStar® functionality in event of a main vehicle battery power disruption to VCIM
(OnStar® module). Do not disconnect main vehicle battery or remove OnStar® fuse with ignition key in any
position other than OFF. Retained accessory power (RAP) should be allowed to time out or be disabled (simply
opening driver door should disable RAP) before disconnecting power. Disconnecting power to OnStar® module
in any way while ignition is On or with RAP activated may cause activation of OnStar® Back-Up Battery (BUB)
system and will discharge and permanently damage back-up battery. Once Back-Up Battery is activated it will
stay on until it has completely discharged. BUB is not chargeable and once activated BUB must be replaced.

Warning: Unless directed otherwise, ignition and start switch must be in OFF or LOCK position and all
electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect negative battery cable
to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical
terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to vehicle or its
components.

Warning: Never drain or store fuel in an open container. Always use an approved fuel storage container in
order to reduce chance of fire or explosion.

Warning: Place a dry chemical (Class B) fire extinguisher nearby before performing any on vehicle service
procedures. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury.

Warning: Always wear safety goggles when working with fuel in order to protect eyes from fuel splash.

Caution: When you are jacking or lifting a vehicle at frame side rails or other prescribed lift points, be
certain that lift pads do not contact catalytic converter, brake pipes or fuel lines. If such contact occurs,
vehicle damage or unsatisfactory vehicle performance may result.
