Statement of Purpose

Introduction:

I am Hina Aslam, D/O Muhammad Aslam, I am pleased to display my presentation as a driven

and yearning person born on November 25, 2000, in Mailsi, district Vehari, Pakistan. I am
from a advantaged foundation with a solid accentuation on instruction, I have continuously been
driven by a enthusiasm for learning and upheld in my interest of scholastic greatness, which has
cleared the way for my future victory. I completed my Auxiliary School Certificate (SSC) in
2016 and Higher Auxiliary School Certificate (HSSC) in 2018 from the Board of Halfway and
Auxiliary Instruction Multan. Later, I completed Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree
from Government College College University Faisalabad, graduating in 2023. After
graduating, I began researching jobs and accepted a position as a physiotherapist at Irus Poly
Clinic and Recovery Center in Multan, where I have been working since August 2024.

After spending some time in the practical field, I came to the realization that my knowledge
and practical skills were not up to the level required in today's highly competitive environment.
Moreover, my current educational level was only basic, which made it even more difficult for me
to stand out in the job market. To increase my chances of success in the future, I have decided to
pursue advanced higher education abroad. I discussed this matter with my parents, teachers, and
seniors, and they all encouraged me and supported my decision. I believe that studying abroad
will equip me with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in my field and contribute to my
country's development.

Why Not Pakistan?

After choosing a suitable and best field of study for me, I was required to select the best institute
for accomplishing my career objectives. Pakistan’s higher education system is not ranked
anywhere among the world's higher education systems in terms of quality. First of all, I thought
of many universities in Pakistan that offer my desired program. I found many good universities
in Pakistan, like International Islamic University Islamabad, University of Agriculture,
University of Management and Technology Lahore, and Islamia University of Bahawalpur. After
doing research on these universities, I realized that none of Pakistan's universities are placed in
any of the world rankings. My utmost concerns regarding my studies are quality education,
infrastructure, global ranking, teaching techniques, and modern curriculum, and in Pakistan I
would not be able to find all these facilities in a single institute. In Pakistan, there is a lack of
trained and qualified faculty who are still following conventional teaching methods of course
delivery, and they are not working on improving their existing knowledge. Due to these reasons,
the quality of education in Pakistan has declined with the prolific development of privatized
institutions and also because of the materialistic approach of the administration of these sectors.
People who have gotten degrees from abroad are given the utmost priority when it comes to jobs
in the private and public sectors. The teaching methodologies and techniques are old and
outdated, and these are not helping students any more in education and life as well. All these
reasons compelled me to think about getting an education in a country other than Pakistan. I have
researched that the world-class universities in which I would be able to get a top-quality
education can only be found in Canada, Australia, the UK, the USA, and Germany.
Why I Selected the UK rather than Australia, Canada, USA, & Germany:-

After making up my mind to study abroad, I started to search different countries to select one
final destination to study, and I started exploring the world of higher education. I have
paramount reasons to adopt the UK for the improvement of my qualifications, which are
regarded as globally recognized education standards, innovation in teaching, a world-class
education system, a secure and peaceful learning environment, the supportive and constructive
nature of natives, pleasant weather, and a diverse education experience in a multi-cultural
community. I have chosen the UK for study because it has the world's best educational
framework and it will take only one year to complete, which is not possible in other countries.
Moreover, UK institutions consistently rank among the best in the world, and their qualifications
are internationally valued and recognized. They undertake 5 percent of the world’s scientific
research and produce 14 percent of the world’s most frequently cited papers. Institutions offer
flexibility of choice and enable you to blend academic and vocational courses of your choice. I
believe that the teaching and study methodology used in the UK will give me the freedom to be
creative and develop skill sets and confidence, which is the only thing I am looking for.
Furthermore, in the UK, I would have more opportunities to get empirical exposure in my
course. I will be encouraged to express my ideas and think for myself. My UK degree courses
develop my critical thinking, decision-making, and creativity skills, which are valued by
employers worldwide. While searching for study options, I also searched for courses available in
Pakistan, but after thorough discussion with my teachers and family and even after my intensive
research, I concluded that I am unable to fulfil my desire to get a good education in Pakistan
because universities here are still relying on old teaching techniques and old syllabuses. With a
strong reputation for research, innovation, and creativity, UK universities and colleges attract
some of the world’s leading academics and industries. I will be encouraged to express my ideas.
UK degree courses develop critical thinking, decision-making, and creativity skills that are
valued by employers worldwide.

I did extensive research on the internet about the selection of the country, and during my
research, I came to know about many developed countries as well, for example, the U.S.A.,
Canada, Australia, and Germany. After doing further research, I came to know some facts, like
that in the U.S.A., education is quite expensive, and there are racism issues as well. When I
researched Australia, I saw that the main issue is that the VISA decision is too late and long. On
the other hand, if I discuss Canada, the option of studying there is also good, but the admission
process is mostly once a year and quota-based as well, which makes the entire admission process
quite long and unpredictable as well. Moreover, climatic conditions in Canada are also extreme,
and most of the year there is snow. As a resident of a tropical region, it will be difficult for me to
adjust easily. Further, Germany is a good option for me, but the challenge I face is the language.
Language is the main barrier for students. Lastly, I decided the UK was the best and most
suitable destination for me to study.

WHY I SELECTED THE UNIVERSITY OF SUNDERLAND in LONDON:

The selection of University was my next decision; I was very confused about this as there are a
lot of well-reputed universities in the UK that are offering my course of interest and related
subjects like University of Sussex, University of Sunderland, University of Liverpool, Leeds
Beckett University, Aberdeen University, Durham University. I compared these universities on
the basis of course structure, fee structure, course outcomes, employability ratio, and research
standards and rankings and finally my eyes caught attention to one of the universities of the UK
namely University of Sunderland as the facts and figures about University of Sunderland were
fascinating e.g., The University of Sunderland has been ranked among the best in the world. For
the first time, the University has made it into the Times Higher Education (THE) World
University Rankings 2023. Sunderland has been ranked between1001-1200 out of 1799
Institutions across the world. University of Sunderland is one of the top universities in London,
United Kingdom. It is ranked #101-150 in QS WUR Ranking by Subject 2022. So, all these
facts and figures helped me to choose university of Sunderland. The university provides a wide
range of accredited and internationally recognized courses to choose from, delivered in a
supportive, student-focused learning environment, and the flexibility to tailor learning to
achieve your professional ambitions. Courses have a practical focus, offering students on-the-
job experience. One can learn from experienced teaching staff and benefit from exposure to
industry through field trips, internships, practical assignments, guest lecturers and networking
events, giving you opportunities for professional learning and increasing your employability.
So, these facts helped me to choose University of Sunderland.

Why I selected MSc in Sport and Exercise Sciences course?

After completing my Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from Government College
University Faisalabad in 2023, I started working as a physiotherapist at Irus Poly Clinic and
Recovery Center in Multan in August 2024. My time in clinical practice made me realize that the
modern healthcare and rehabilitation environment demands not only strong theoretical
knowledge but also advanced practical skills and international exposure. I felt that my current
education, while foundational, was not sufficient to compete effectively or to grow
professionally in today’s global and evidence-based healthcare system. The MSc in Sport and
Exercise Sciences is a perfect match for my goals. This course combines advanced academic
learning with hands-on experience, allowing me to strengthen both my theoretical understanding
and applied skills. The opportunity to work on real-world projects, gain feedback from clients
and employers, and build a portfolio of practical and academic work aligns with my career
ambitions.

The course structure — which includes lectures, lab-based classes, group discussions, and
problem-solving seminars — suits my learning style and will help me grow intellectually and
professionally. The assessment methods, such as case studies, data analysis, practical exams, and
scientific reporting, will prepare me for high-level roles in physiotherapy, rehabilitation, and
sports performance settings. In addition, the emphasis on internships and collaboration with
sports clubs and external clients will allow me to gain valuable experience and develop a global
perspective in sport and exercise rehabilitation. This aligns with my long-term goal of
contributing to the advancement of physiotherapy services in Pakistan.

honor for me to urge a master’s degree from a trustworthy UK founded, which can open new
entryways of opportunity for me in Pakistan. Within the past few years, the Sport Medic Sport

nearby countries like Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia.
Conclusively, I have complete acknowledgement of the conditions, rules, and regulations of the
UK student visa by the UK government. I will try to be a law-abiding individual during my
whole stay. After completing my education, I will come back to my country and serve it. I will
get a chance to fulfil my parents dream by working for a leading organization in my country. My
sole purpose in studying abroad is to have an education of high quality with great standards. I
