Greetings Vocabulary

Practice
Write a short dialogue (3–4 lines) using greetings. Example :

Grammar : Using Numbers
Combine numbers with nouns :
- J’ai un livre. (I have one book.)
- Il y a deux chats. (There are two cats.)

Present Tense of -er Verbs
Grammar
Regular -er verbs (e.g., parler - to speak) :
Je parle - I speak Nous parlons - We speak
Tu parles - You speak Vous parlez - You (pl.) speak
Il/Elle parle - He/She speaks Ils/Elles parlent - They speak
Examples
- J’aime le français. (I love French.)
- Elle parle anglais. (She speaks English.)
Exercise
1. Conjugate aimer (to love) for all pronouns.
2. Write three sentences using parler or aimer.

Building Simple Sentences
Sentence Structure
Subject + Verb + Object :
- Je mange une pomme. (I eat an apple.)
- Tu aimes le café. (You love coffee.)

Cultural Note and Review
Cultural Note
In France, saying ”Bonjour” when entering a shop or greeting someone is a key part of
politeness. Cheek kisses (la bise) are common among friends in social settings.
