What are Electronics?

Electronics are a scientific, engineering subject often studied in physics
involving circuits, microchipds or devices using transistors and other
components.

Some example of electronics commonly used are:

Mobile

Laptop

Headphones

Light Bulb

Brief Overview of the history of electronics and how it has

developed over time ✔
Electronics is believed to have began with the invention of the vacuum tube by J.A.
Fleming in 1904. The Diode functions as if turning on a road- sending electronics to
another area. Electronics assisted the development of telegraphy communication in
the UK and radio after investment was made in the Italian Inventor, Guglielmo
Marconi, during the 1890s. From here this progress solved long distance
communication. Famous electonics such as the mobile phone used by 72% of the
global population only begun with a telephone invented by Scottish Alexander
Graham Bell. His early invention of the telephone when spoken into the open end of
the drumlike device, caused the paper and needle to vibrate then converting these
vibrations into an electric current which passed along the wire to the receiver. This
telephone could only reach 143 miles compared to the devices today reaching
countries across. Furthermore, electronics started to hold a notorious role in many
technological progress and new inventions.

The Impact that electronics has had on the way that we live
The impacts of electonics on our modern society extends to the way we
communicate, entertain ourselves and work. Electronics have succeded in making
life more efficient and productive.

Examples of this go from automation tools to time management apps, from long
distance cells to instant messaging and being entertained with one touch.

However, I greatly believe there are also challenges associated with electonics such
as reliance and environmental impact.
Reliance in electonics often leads to a lack of concentration in studies and an
absence of interest in day-to-day activies.

Additionally, electronics pose a risk to the environment, for instance they contain
many toxic components that are hazardous to human health. Examples are lead,
cadmium, polybrominated flame retardants, barium and more.

When electronic waste is thrown away in landfills their toxic entrails seep into the
groundwater leading to an effect on both land and sea animals.

To conclude, it is important to recognise both the advantages and disadvantages of

electronics and agree on working together to develop sustainable and responsible
ways to improve.

How radios have changed with the use of electonics

 The inventor of the radio is often unclear as there is controversy about the
true inventor of the radio between Guglielmo Marconi and Nikola Tesla.

 However, historians claim it is possible Marconi stole the radio from Tesla.
Tesla was the first person to make a wirless radio and in March 1893 he held
a public demonstration.

 It is possible that Marconi learned vital information from this demonstration to

assemble his own radio. Nevertheless, Tesla did send the first transatlantic
signal and was received a patent 4 years than Marconi did beforehand.

 In 1895, Marconi invented the radio and was known as the father of the radio.
In 1906 Lee De Forest created the audion tube. His invention acted as a
vacuum tube that amplified signals. A similar equivalent to a speaker.

 In 1912, radio was used across to ships and was used for the first time when
the Titanic sank to ask for assistance. This had a large impact on the marine
industry as it utilised the ability to communicate over sea.

 In 1920, radio stations were presented. Over the next 25 years, they
broadcasted vocals, music and sound to people who would listen. In
November 2, 1920 KDKA, created by Frank Conrad and regularly transmitted
in Pittsburgh, was one of the first stations to be created.

 In 1922, the first advertisement was broadcasted where it aired a 10 minute

comericial about an apartment charging $50. Radio stations would earn
money doing this by having businesses buy out certain time slots and
advertise their product in that time slot for a period of time.
 In the Golden Era, a time when everyone listened to the radio and reached its
peak as a war was unfolding during this time. People would listen to the radio
to be informed on the situation. Especially during the Great Depression, radio
bestowed an escape to those who were being effected at this time. Many
famous shows aired on radios such as Superman but were then transferred to
TV when it began to become prominent.

 However, radio began to lose a lot of money. Many advertisers went to TV for
the reason that people prefer to show their product compared to the
alternative of just talking about it.

 countless radio shows left for TV, they begun to play music in lieu. During
this moment of time, you had the option to listen to music at a jukebox in a
resturant or play it on a record or perhaps go to a live concert. In spite of this,
now you could do this in your car or at home whenever you desired.

 From the 2000s, radio is now overall used for sport events, meet and greets,
music. Some platforms now dominate radio such as Spotify, youtube and

iTunes.
