DAY 01 – ARRIVAL TRANSFER / PINNAWALA / KANDY
Meet, Greet & Assist on arrival by One-Above Lanka Representative and transfer from Bandaranayke
International airport to Kandy.
Visit Pinnawala elephant orphanage en route.
Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage: The elephant orphanage can be addressed by turning the 82nd km post in
the Colombo-Kandy road. The orphanage was set in 1975 in a 7 ha coconut plantation. It is the first elephant
orphanage built in Sri Lanka. Moreover, it is also used as a breeding centre for elephants, which refer to the
National Zoo in Sri Lanka. A part of the National Zoo is also presently open right close to the orphanage. At
now, the orphanage is residence to over 60 elephants, including both male and female elephants. Alternatively,
elephants are brought here from several regions found abandoned by their mothers or dismissed from their
wild environment. As a result, the elephant orphanage has become a tourist attraction and a favourite place
among local and foreign tourists and nature lovers.

Kandy City Tour: Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Kandy which is a UNESCO world heritage site. The historic city
about 480m above sea level surrounded by mountains was known to Sri Lankan as Kanda Uda Rata, which
means the hill country. Kandy was home to Sri Lanka's last independent Kingdom, which survived two centuries
of colonial incursion before finally falling to the British at the beginning of the nineteenth century. Visit the
Temple of the tooth, The Royal Botanical Gardens, the Peradeniya University campus and catch a panoramic
view of the picturesque town from Upper Lake Drive.
Visit Kandy Temple of the Tooth.
Kandy temple of the Tooth: The temple, which displays a lot of significance to Buddhists worldwide,
additionally has tremendous cultural value. The structure is of a novel Kandyan architectural technique with a
mixture of the original style applied to build “Dalada Mandira”, the shrines which housed the Sacred Tooth
Relic earlier in different kingdoms.The temple is placed in the city of Kandy near the ancient Royal Palace, which
is situated to the North of the temple and the forest park called “Udawaththa Kelaya” to the East. The famous
Kandy Lake is likewise known as “Kiri Muhuda” to the South and “Natha & Paththini Devala” to the West. The
temple is decorated with elaborate carvings using gold, silver, bronze and ivory.Kandy is the last place of the
Sacred Tooth Relic of Gautama Buddha. The Sacred relic was taken to Sri Lanka by Princess Hemamala & Prince
Dantha from the city of Kalinga in ancient India, while the reign of King Keerthi Sri Meghavarna (Kithsirimevan
301 -328).

Kandyan Dance Performance: The Kandyan dance has become most distinctively Sinhalese and is readily
associated with the idea of a National Dance. This development can be explained by the fact that the Kandyan
Kingdom was the last of the Sinhala kingdoms to fall under foreign rule (1815).

DAY 02 – KANDY / NUWARA ELIYA

Transfer from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya, you would also visit a tea factory and estate / Sri Bhaktha hanuman
Temple & Ramboda water falls en-route. Also witness how the famous "Ceylon Tea" is brewed.

Nuwara Eliya City Tour: Nuwara Eliya meaning "the city of dawn" is the town at the highest elevation (about
2000m above sea level) in Sri Lanka and its tallest peak, Piduruthalagala (2555m) could be seen from here. The
city established by the British in the nineteenth century, and known as "Little England" and is a popular holiday
resort for Sri Lankans & tourists due to its cool climate and quaint colonial feel with its little bungalows
surrounded by hedgerows.
Visit Hakgala botanical garden.
Hakgala botanical garden: The Hakgala Botanical Gardens was one of the pleasure gardens of King Ravana.
This garden was expanded during the British period and has a wide variety of flowers including an excellent
collection of orchids. This is the exotic pleasure garden where King Ravana kept the depressed Sita, insisting
that she marries him. It was here where the heartwarming meeting took place between her and Hanuman,
who brought her Rama’s ring with the news that Rama was looking for her. He offered to carry her back but
she refused saying it would be an insult to Rama’s honor if she did so. Part of this majestic garden still exists. It
is also said that Hanuman nearly destroyed it in order to prove to Ravana of the forces against him.
Visit Sitha Amman Temple.
Sitha Amman Temple: About 15km away is Seetha Amman Temple, said to be built at the spot where Ravna
held Sita captive, as related in the Ramayana. The small temple has a collection of statues, including a couple
of Kali images.
Visit Gregory Lake.
Gregory Lake: Gregory Lake is a beautiful area in Nuwara Eliya with both foreign tourists and locals. Titled after
Sir William Gregory in 1873, it is a prominent attraction utilised for water sports and recreational activities. The
park near the lake gives you several activities such as speed boats, swan boats, dinky boats, Pony rides and
many more. There is including a bicycle path around the lake. Plenty of fast food stalls are located in a separate
areas to enjoy a meal or a snack.

DAY 03 – NUWARA ELIYA / BENTOTA

Visit Bentota Beach in the evening.
Bentota has located 64km south of Colombo in the Southern Western coastal belt of Sri Lanka. You can find
two famous twin beaches along the coast in that area. They are called Bentota Beach and Beruwala Beach. The
Beruwala beach could be located before reaching Aluthgama, and the Bentota beach could be seen over the
Bentota Bridge. Unlike other beaches, Bentota is the perfect place for any family to have long extended
vacations in the tropical blue shimmering waters. Bentota Beach, also known as Ventura Beach, is located in
the Southern Western coastal belt of Sri Lanka. This stunning beach is mainly distinguished for the fantastic
beach resorts found along the coast in that area. Bentota Beach is surrounded and inundated by the most

DAY 04 – BENTOTA

Visit Kosgoda Turtle hatchery & enjoy the boat ride in Madhu River.
Kosgoda: is famous for its turtle hatchery- operated by the Wild Life Protection Society of Sri Lanka. It was
established in 1981 to protect Sri Lanka's turtles from extinction. The hatchery pays fishermen for eggs that
they collect at night along the sandy beach. Visitors can see huge tanks filled with new born turtle hatchlings.
After being fed, the baby turtles are taken to the sea and released when they are 2-4 days old, usually during
the safer hours of darkness.
Madhu River is also a remarkable place you must visit. Bordering to the coastal village Balaptiya, Madu River
flows by adding an incomparable beauty to the surrounding. It’s unique in its beauty, hundreds of islets,
mangroves, indigenous aquatic birds & fish creates a green heave in front of your eyes. These enchanting
landscapes make people breathless by creating a paradise for their own dreams.
Enjoy the water sports activities in Bentota. (01 Round – Jet Ski, Banana ride & Tube ride)
Sheltered by a lagoon, the calm waters in the mouth of the Bentota River make it an ideal year-round
destination for water sports. Activities such as jet skiing, water skiing, banana boat rides, wind surfing and kite
surfing can be included for adults and children alike. Scenic boat rides allow you to explore the rich mangrove
habitats which are abundant in birdlife. Angling enthusiasts have the option of chartering a boat and heading
out to sea, where game fish such as Marlin, Baracuda and Tuna are abundant.

DAY 05 – BENTOTA / COLOMBO

Colombo City Tour: Enjoy a city tour of Colombo which is the largest city and former administrative capital of
Sri Lanka and is a busy and vibrant city with a mixture of modern life and remnants of a bygone colonial era.
Due to its large harbor and its strategic position along the East-West sea trade routes, Colombo was known to
ancient traders 2,000 years ago. However it was only made the Capital of the island when Sri Lanka was ceded
to the British Empire in 1815. The main city is home to a majority of the Sri Lanka’s corporate offices,
restaurants and entertainment venues. On this tour you will visit many of the historical, religious and
commercial sites of Colombo including the historic and bustling Fort and Pettah, the elite residential Cinnamon
Gardens, the Galle face Green, Viharamahadevi Park and much more.
Visit Gangaramaya Temple.
Gangaramaya: Gangaramaya is one of Colombo's most beloved Buddhist temples, started by the famous
scholar-monk Hikkaduwa Sri Sumangala Maha Nayaka Thero in the late 19th Century. After the Venerable Sri
Sumangala, his chief pupil Devundera Sri Jinaratana Nayake Thera took on the administration of the temple. It
was he who laid the organisation to convert the little temple to an institute of global reckoning.
The following chief incumbent was the Ven. Devundara Keerthi Sri Sumangala Jinaratana Vacissara Thero, the
teacher of the Ven. Galboda Gnanissara led to make the Gangaramaya what it is today: much more than a
temple in the general term, but a house of worship, a place of learning, and a social centre.
Visit Colombo Lotus Tower.
Colombo Lotus Tower: will rise like a colourful art from the centre of the Colombo capital on the waterfront of
the scenic Beira Lake as the tallest tower in South Asia and the 19th highest tower globally. Its elegant design
stimulated by the lotus flower, which has solid symbolic relations to the Sri Lankan society, will bridge the gap
between its built fabric and its rich cultural heritage. The Lotus Tower, also called Colombo Lotus Tower, is 350
m, found in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Sinhala Name is ' Nelum Kuluna ". The 350-metre-tall 17-storey Lotus Tower
includes a television tower, a hotel, a telecommunications museum, eateries, an auditorium, an observation
deck, a shopping mall and a convention centre.
