(57) Abstract :
This invention presents an advanced plant leaf disease detection system using deep learning models, specifically EfficientNet-B2, to significantly enhance accuracy and
reliability in identifying plant diseases. The system leverages a dataset of over 87,000 RGB images covering various plant species and diseases. EfficientNet-B2
achieved an impressive accuracy of 93%, precision of 93%, recall of 90%, and an F1-score of 90%. The model’s sensitivity of 99.83% underscores its efficacy in
accurately identifying diseased crops. While the model exhibited overfitting tendencies, future optimizations such as hyper parameter tuning and data augmentation aim
to mitigate this issue. The system’s deployment through mobile applications and UAV platforms promises to offer real-time disease identification in agricultural
settings, thus enabling timely interventions and improved crop management.
