Let’s talk about watching TV.
1. Could you tell me about your family’s TV viewing habits?
My family usually watches TV in the evening after dinner. We often watch the news together to
stay updated. Sometimes, we watch movies or game shows during the weekend.
2. What are your favorite TV programmes and why?
I like watching documentaries and travel shows because I can learn about nature and different
countries. I also enjoy reality shows because they are fun and entertaining.
3. Which do you prefer, watching a film on TV or going to the cinema? Why?
I prefer going to the cinema because the screen is bigger and the sound is better. It feels more
exciting and I can enjoy the film with friends. However, watching TV at home is more
convenient and cheaper.
Let’s talk about transport.
1. What’s your favorite means of transport and why?
I like travelling by motorbike because it’s fast and flexible. It’s easy to move through traffic and I
don’t have to wait like when using the bus.
2. What do you think of the traffic in your area/town?
The traffic in my town is quite bad, especially during rush hours. There are too many vehicles,
and people don’t always follow traffic rules. It’s sometimes stressful to travel around.
3. Could you give me directions to the nearest shop from here, please?
Sure. Go straight for about 200 meters, then turn left at the traffic light. You’ll see the shop next
to the pharmacy on your right. It’s not far from here.
PART 2: SOLUTION DISCUSSION (4’)
Situation: If you won the lottery of 1 billion VND, what would you do with the money? There
are three options for you to choose: buying a new house, starting a business, depositing the
money in the bank.
From my point of view, starting a business is the best option because of the following reasons.
First of all, one of the most important reasons is that it can help me earn more money in the
future. I mean I can use that money to open a small shop or invest in something I’m interested in,
and if it works well, I can make a good profit.
Not to mention, running a business also helps me improve many skills such as communication,
problem-solving and money management. It’s a great chance for me to grow and learn more
about real life.
On the other hand, I would not recommend buying a new house as the best choice. Although it
sounds great, it may cost a lot of money and I will have nothing left to use. Also, I don’t really
need a new house at the moment.
Similarly, I don’t choose depositing the money in the bank. Even though it’s safe and I can get
some interest, the profit is very low, and it may take a long time to see any big result.
To sum up, if I were in that situation, I would recommend starting a business as the best choice
because of several reasons I have mentioned above.
