INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CANDIDATE
Occupation: Hardware network service III
1. For Qualification-based assessment, you are to perform all the projects in this package
together with the written tests.
2. For competence-based assessment, you are required to perform the specific project/s
where the competencies to be certified are included.
3. Read the Project package/s and Written test (if applicable) properly.
4. All your questions and clarifications should be addressed to the assessor only.
5. Complete the task/project described in the project package.
6. You are given fifteen (15) minutes reading time for each project and the number of
hours allocated for each project is indicated in the Project Information Sheet.
7. After you finish this assessment, you are required to submit all the project packages
and written tests questions provided to you.
8. You are allowed to use your tools/ instruments with the permission of the Assessor,
and this must be presented to the assessor before start of the test.
9. After you finish the assessment, you are required to sign the Competency Assessment
Results Summary, and return to the stock room all the tools and materials borrowed.
10. You are also required to clean up your work station after completion of your work.

Instruction: - under this project you are expected to perform the following two tasks
based on the given information provided.
This project involves the installation of server operating system and client operating
systems. Configuring Microsoft window server 2008 and configure network that uses
one computer installation plus other two networking computers. the project also
includes preparing that configure and troubleshooting . Administration, configuration
and testing a server according to business needs and technical requirements, Apply
the security features available in the operating environment and the ability to monitor
and administer security functions on the network.
Task1: installations of server operating system and client operating system on
network
Total time for this task 1:50 minutes
Instruction: - under this task you are expected to perform the following activities
based on the given information
1. Format the computer and install window server 2008 operating system of a
computer.
To create two partition, the first partition (C: drive) 60% and the second partition (D:
drive) 40%, operating system store the first partition

2. Format the two computers and install Microsoft window 7 operating system on the
two computers.
3. Install the necessary drivers for all computers.
4. Create a LAN connect the computers using the given cables and switch/hub.
5. Assign the use of the following network address range (127.10.0.1 -127.10.0.20)
with class a subnet mask the given computers.
6. Test the connection between server and client computers using testing
commands.
Task 2: Configure window server 2008
Total time for this task 1:10 minutes
Instruction: - under this task you are expected to perform the following activities
based on the given information
1. Install active directory on the server computer and create give the full domain
name ‘Home.com’
2. Add both Windows XP computers to a Windows Server 2008 domain
3. Create two groups natural and social
4. Create the following users under the following groups.

5. Join the two client computers to the domain with user’s name Hana and sied
respectively.

8. To manage ‘logoff’ a remote client computers on the administrator of the
domain.
9. Install and configure DHCP on the server, IP address range will be from
127.10.0.5 to 127.10.0.15
